We are so delighted that we found Bryn Eithin. A wonderful historic building with loads of charm and features. The staff are absolutely amazing, and my Dad has felt well cared for and at home ever since his move from independent living 6 months ago. Today I sat with Dad in his room making family phone
calls, with my dog, - All I could hear coming from the lounge area was laughter and fun as guests and staff played games together. The care is phenomenal. Dad has a super large room with sea views. Can't recommend highly enough
Reply from Susan Hanson, Director at Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share this. It's wonderful to hear how at home your dad feels and how much you enjoy being here with him - moments like laughter, family visits, and everyday life carrying on really mean a lot to us. We're so glad Bryn Eithin has been the right place for your family

My sister moved into Bryn Eithin Hall in November 2025 & has settled in wonderfully well. This is because of the care, attention & kindness she has received. The staff are so helpful & willing to do everything. It is a pleasure to visit and see the happiness around the place amongst residents & staff.
Also to hear Welsh being used with Welsh speaking residents. A very happy home.

Caring, helpful and friendly team. They reassure us all the time, as this is our first experience of the care system. Their professionalism is first rate, they take everything in their stride. The facilities, the freshly made food on site and standards are excellent. They have created a great environment

Mum went into Bryn Eithin originally for respite care and stay was extended due to home circumstances and family sickness. Everything was taken from us, all the pressures, problems, by the staff, without having to ask. Medication, pain review, individual care needs. I felt mum was safe, valued and cared
for.
Reply from Susan Hanson, Director at Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care HomeThank you for your kind words. Were really pleased we could support you and your mum when you needed it most, and that she felt safe, cared for, and in good hands.

My mum has settled in really well and I am overwhelmed by the kindness and care she is receiving at Bryn Eithin. The atmosphere there is lovely. My mum's sweet character has returned after a long spell in hospital prior to moving in and she is now eating again independently (dining experience is like
a top restaurant).
Bryn Eithin is her first care home and I hope she never has to move again.

Mum initially went into Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home for short-term care while I had surgery. She was apprehensive at first, as I was. A stroke had affected her sight and she was very anxious afterwards. The staff were extremely kind, caring and friendly towards Mum. In the new year, she decided
she would be better staying as she felt safe and well looked after. Sadly, she died suddenly in March. I am so grateful for the love and care shown to Mum by everyone at Bryn Eithin.

I have been visiting Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home regularly over the last couple of years and find it to be a very caring and friendly home. The staff and managers are very welcoming and respectful to all visitors.
Since I have been visiting my friend there, I have become friendly with some
of the other residents and they all appear to be very happy. If I should need to go into residential care, Bryn Eithin would be my first choice.

As a family, we could not be happier that our dad is in Bryn Eithin Hall. The care he has is excellent, he has settled even better than we hoped for. We have previous experience of the care home following the outstanding care our mum received a few years ago and it's great to see the outstanding standards
are still being maintained.

My mother moved into Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home in October 2023. We have been very happy with the care and comfort she has received. It has been a very traumatic time for us to make the decision to put her in a home but I think Bryn Eithin was the most care home to put my mother in.
The
staff are excellent with her and she can have lots of visitors and come and go as she likes, very happy overall.

My mother has been a resident at Bryn Eithin for approximately 18 months. Throughout that time I have witnessed a consistently high standard of care being delivered to Mum and the other residents. My visits are not prearranged as Mum is on end of life situation, but not withstanding that I have never
felt that the care and attention to my mother has been lacking. The hallmark of the services I have witnessed is the genuine affection and concern which the staff have shown to Mum. That is a great comfort to me and my family.

My mum was in hospital for a long period and Bryn Eithin now care for her as end of life. She could have been sent to nursing or kept in hospital. We, as a family, are so grateful to Bryn Eithin and all the loving care they give to Mum. Although Mum is bedbound, they get her up to join in with activities
such as when they had a jubilee party, also music entertainment days. I get to visit whenever I can. I also get photos of Mum on these special days

My mum is always treated with dignity and respect by all the staff and nothing seems too much trouble. The food provided is excellent and is catered to Mum's palette. Her room is clean and as she is allowed her own things it is just like home. When Mum recently had a fall, we were kept informed at all
times regarding her ongoing care and health requirements. A genuine home with care.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.898 for Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (150 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 167 Ratings = 4.898
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
