Our sister Olwena was very happy at Dol Awel, she settled in really well here, was at the home for over 2 years. The care was excellent at all times. Olwena was very grateful for everything and thought a lot of all the lovely staff. She enjoyed us visiting and having a cup of tea and sometimes lunch with her. Staff very confident and high quality care was always given. Always a cup of tea was offered when we visited our sister.
I was very happy with the care my sister Olwena received at Dol Awel. She was always happy and loved all the staff, very grateful for everything. She has been well looked after and has been at Dol Awel for years and 4 months. I visited her two or three times a week and she was always happy to see me and Dilys when she visited her on her own, always enjoyed having a cuppa. We also had lunch and tea with and the Christmas Day in 2024 was lovely also her 80th birthday last July was lovely, also she enjoyed the crafts. Thank you all.
My aunt is settled and happy. The staff are excellent and it is lovely to feel confident in her care.
Always made welcome, staff are friendly. Very caring to residents. A lovely, comfortable care home.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Room nice and comfortable. Staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. Room is kept tidy and clean and very comfortable.
Wonderful staff and care home. This is perfect for my mother. Thank you to the staff for all her care and support.
Since my mother-in-law has been in Dol Awel we as a family feel she is cared for in the best way.
I have just moved to Dol Awel. Settled in well. Staff very friendly and helpful.
I had the pleasure of visiting Dol Awel, a residential care home in Abergele, while exploring the possibility of daycare for my father. The staff are friendly, attentive, and clearly dedicated to ensuring the residents' well-being. A particularly touching moment was seeing the Director, personally feeding an elderly resident with such kindness and patience. It's rare to see leadership so directly involved in day-to-day care, and it speaks volumes about the values of this home.
The rooms are bright and spacious, with high ceilings and tall windows. The shared spaces are equally impressive. The kitchen is spotless and well-organised, reflecting the care taken in meal preparation. The lounge opens onto an outdoor decking area used for residents to enjoy fresh air and summer barbecues. Dol Awel is not just a care home; it feels like a genuine community where residents are treated with dignity and love.
The staff are absolutely brilliant. They go forward in their work. The care is excellent. My mum got better in a few days after coming to Dol Awel.
Dol Awel - the management and all of the staff are excellent. They provide quality of service that is exceptional. Their level of care and support should be applauded as a level for others to achieve. I would have no hesitation in recommending to others to provide an environment for their loved ones where they are safe supported and cared for. The staff are their greatest asset - thank you all.
I am happy with the care provided here. The food with all the services given to me are excellent.
The Dol Awel Care Home is an excellent care home. All the staff are very caring and professional. The owner is also a very caring and approachable man. The staff don't have the easiest of jobs but still remain caring and smiling all the time. This place is really more like a small family and not a care home.
My grandad was a resident of Dol Awel, and as a family, we had an excellent experience. Grandad was very well cared for by all the staff, who were at all times friendly and warm and nothing was too much trouble. The care that was delivered at Dol Awel was second to none. Grandad was a resident of Dol Awel until he sadly passed away in February, as a family we were comforted that Grandad was cared for by staff who put his welfare at the forefront of everything they did while maintaining professionalism at all times. I would very highly recommend Dol Awel and all the staff who ensured such a positive experience for Grandad and us as a family.
Dad was a resident at Dol Awel, he was very happy and well cared for during his time there. All the staff were wonderful, exceptionally kind and caring, nothing was too much trouble. We lost Dad recently, as a family it was a comfort knowing he was happy and well cared for in his final weeks. The staff all welcomed us as a family and we felt we were able to spend a lot of time with him, the staff became an extension of our own family caring for Dad. We will always be grateful for the excellent care he received and the kindness we were all shown.
My mum has been a resident at Dol Awel for over a year. I can honestly say the care she receives is outstanding! Of late she's had a few health issues and the manager handled the issues with the upmost speed and diplomacy, not missing the important details my mum required at the time and as Mum had to go to hospital, all Mum's records, meds, etc were all in one place ready to hand to me to give the hospital. The manager is not only a manager there, her role far exceeds this, she's a friend to all the residents and the family some residents don't have! All the staff are the same with the manager leading them. Thank you Manager.
I could not be happier with the care my Grandma is receiving at Dol Awnel. Similar to a lot of people, it was an unsettling time when we made the decision to move my Grandma from her home and into care. The staff at Dol Alwen have gone above and beyond to make my Grandma feel welcome, settle her into her new life and, at the same time, keep family members informed and contacted regularly. When I go to visit my Grandma, it is clear that she has made friendships with the other residents. I think this is mainly due to the work the staff do to integrate people into the home. I love watching the communication my Grandma has with the staff - she most certainly feels comfortable and it’s clear that all staff members have taken the time to get to know my Grandma on a personal level. The dedication put into the care of all of the residents is so heartwarming and full of love. Dol Alwen you have no idea how much my family and I appreciate you - thank you so much for everything you do.
A very good home that really cares about its guests.
Always found the staff friendly and helpful and try to make the residents comfortable and looked after. Visiting a family member isn’t a problem and made to feel welcome with a chat an update and a cuppa. Most importantly I feel management is good because this is the business of caring for our loved ones and this is massively important to the family who have relatives residing there and we can feel confident that they are being looked after.
Beautiful care home with an amazing atmosphere and the staff are outstanding. Food was 10/10, highly hygienic eating area, again with a great atmosphere. You can tell as soon as walking through the door that the staff do their job to the highest profession. Would most definitely recommend for a loved one.
