Belvedere House Residential Care Home

Having been a respite visitor, mother asked to go to this care home. She stayed in another (more expensive) home previously but said it was too much like an impersonal hotel whereas Belvedere is a family home. This is so true. The staff are like friends and the other resident's family. Medicines are handled competently and staff are friendly and attentive even to a visitor. All concerns are conveyed to family and hygiene is good. Staff are competent, energetic, patient and alert and they jolly the residents and interact well-affording dignity to all.

I think it is a credit to all concerned when a care home can make accommodating the "difficult" resident seem east and that is what Belvedere does. I would thoroughly recommend.

The care my mother received during the last 15 months of her life was excellent, all members of staff not only treated my mother with respect, care and maintaining her dignity to the very end of her life, they were an amazing support to myself and family - nothing was too much trouble, always ready to listen. The end of life care was also superb. I spent a great deal of time with my mother during her last months and observed care of all residents which were exemplary.

My Mother recently passed away after 9 months in this absolutely brilliant residential home aged 106 years. Being a very independent lady she had refused to go into a home and lived in her bungalow with carers and myself. She had been in the hospital and then into another home nearby which was not ideal under any circumstances. After taking advice, I removed her and thankfully there was a vacancy in Belvedere. I cannot fault anything about this home and would just say that if all residential homes came up to the standards of this one the world would be a much better place for the elderly. The entire staff were always friendly and efficient and always pleased to see visitors. There were always smiles and a welcoming tea/coffee and biscuits. Thank you all.

My mother has been a resident at the home now for the last eighteen months, we visit her generally on a daily basis and are always made to feel very welcome at the home. As we are such frequent visitors we have a good feeling of how the home is run and we have been very impressed with the level of care that my mother receives. She is encouraged to take part in the activities and particularly likes the singing at the home, and also when she is spoken to in Welsh. They conduct regular day trips out which I know she needed some pushing to take up, but now really likes these. When the family were looking for a placement for my mother, we visited a number of care homes and we are very happy with the choice that we made.
