My mother was a resident here for just under a year. The care she received was excellent. Every member of staff that interacted with her from the receptionist, entertainment staff, and housekeeping as well as the carers and nursing staff were exceptional. I would definitely recommend Willowbrook House to anyone considering it.

Father was cared for at Willowbrook for 3 years. Staff were caring, kind, professional and supportive. His room was always clean as was rest of nursing home. Communication was good. A range of activities was held on a weekly basis and he was encouraged to join in.

A very nice clean home. Lots of things going on for residents. Unfortunately my wife is bedbound and cannot take part in the many functions available. She is very well looked after, warm, clean bedding everyday, lovely food if she so wishes and near to nurses desk. For visiting new restrictions, however sometimes lack of parking spaces.

Very happy with the care and staff at the home was so worried about my mum coming into a care home, but she has settled in amazingly, regained some quality of life again and joins in activities when she wants to and is always smiling.

Without exception, all staff treat my mother kindly and with dignity. I also appreciate the way they listen and speak to me. My mother's bathroom and bed are always cleaned, and her room is usually very clean too. To improve, I would appreciate an extra member of staff per shift, as there is regularly nobody able to respond promptly to a toilet call, as they are so busy elsewhere. This could also allow them more time at meal times to support feeding. Suggestion: have a tick chart in her room for quick reading, to ensure care plans are actually fully adhered to, and create opportunities for those not cognitively impaired to be sociable and entertained.

My mother who is 97 years old, has suffered with her health and capacity since having a few strokes and other problems. She has been in Willowbrook Care Home since April 2025 and has been taken care of and treated with compassion; all the staff have been fantastic, including the activity staff, office and maintenance staff.

Lovely care home, staff are amazing, they have looked after my dad in a way that we could not have done. They know Dad better than family since dementia has taken him. The building is well planned out and perfect as a care facility, and all staff, from maintenance to carers and admin, are always friendly and ready to help.

I have found the care home to be homely, warm and friendly.
The staff are the same, caring, considerate, professional and approachable.
Car parking can be a real issue both in and outside of the home area.

The resident seems to be relatively happy there; obviously, they would rather be at home, but are in a safe, caring environment.

Overall Experience

Willowbrook House is a wonderful care home, clean and well decorated and well laid out for residents and families to enjoy their time at the home. Since Mum arrived at the home she has been very well cared for, all staff are so kind and caring and it has helped both Mum and Dad (who visits everyday) to settle into the home. Staff are patient and understanding and do their utmost to keep them both happy.

Food at the home is of a very high standard and Mum's room is exceptional with an ensuite bathroom which makes looking after her needs so much easier. The activities during the day are numerous and varied which help to make Mum's time at the home so much easier. The garden and lounge areas are great, the garden in particular is safe and sheltered and provides somewhere different to sit at all times of the day. We were very concerned when Mum entered the home, but we shouldn't have worried as she is so well looked after. Thanks to all the staff at Willowbrook.

I have found since my wife has been a resident that the standard of care is exemplary. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them. In addition to this the programme of activities is excellent and of the highest standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone who is interested. It is always kept spotlessly clean, and I find it a privilege to go there.

My Brother was discharged to Willowbrook House after 6 months in hospital at the start of the pandemic - I was, therefore, unable to visit him for a considerable time. He has mental health issues and I was concerned how he would settle in. I spoke to the staff and my brother regularly and once I was able to visit, under strict COVID guidelines, I was firstly impressed by the care and attention he received, he obviously loved it there. Secondly, I was really impressed with the home as a whole, there was no nasty smells normally associated with care homes and the place was spotless and well presented. All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. They have a wonderful well kept garden and a team of dedicated activities coordinators to keep them stimulated. I can't praise all the staff enough.

Overall Experience

From our initial enquiries to the moment mum entered the home following a hospital discharge, we have been welcomed by friendly, professional, knowledgeable and caring staff at all times. Although mum has advanced Alzheimer’s and is now wheelchair-bound, she has a much-improved quality of life. She has settled so well, responds to her carers and nurses, with a smile and feels reassured by the genuine kind and exemplary care she receives both day and night. Dad also in his 80s, visits daily and although not a resident, is also cared for while there and always made welcome. The home is bright, modern, smells fresh. All the residents are showered regularly and kept clean and well-groomed. The day rooms and gardens are beautiful. Regular and varied activities are organised by an energetic dedicated duo to entertain residents and visitors. Management and nurses always on hand and vigilant.
