Red Rose Care Home strives to provide the highest quality of care possible, meeting the needs and wishes of each resident. The home is purpose-built and is at the heart of the community, just a short drive from Ebbw Vale.

The friendly team of carers helps residents with daily tasks, provides nursing care for people who have complex medical needs, palliative care, and respite care.

Each resident is unique and staff take their time to get to know them to understand their likes and dislikes and explore how to best make them happy and comfortable. Red Rose care home actively encourages residents to take part in all decisions, from contributing to the way their room looks to the therapies they receive.

In addition to a varied activities programme, residents can enjoy the lovely garden or socialise in the communal areas.

The staff at Red Rose Care Home are very considerate to the residents' needs. Although my mother has ill-health and is not as sharp as she was years ago, she constantly reassures the family "I'm being well looked after".

My mother went into Red Rose Care Home on the day of lockdown in March 2020. It is difficult to give an accurate review as obviously, we have been unable to enter the home. What I can say is that considering the circumstances, my mother has seemed to settle well, is well cared for and seems to be happy.
The staff seem caring and reassure us on the phone with any concerns we may have.

Wonderful, kind staff where nothing seems to be too much trouble. My aunt says she is happy and comfortable here, especially during such difficult times when vising has been limited.

My father and mother spent one week at Red Rose. They settled in after the first day and made it clear they liked being there. The staff were friendly and considerate and made my parents comfortable. They involved them in conversations by asking them about family and their interests. This made them
feel at home. This was such a relief for the family. I found the nursing and caring staff very professional and I would like to thank the management for their advice during the initial assessment and their stay.

My father has been at Red Rose Care Home for 3 years. The staff are fantastic with him. The only time there are concerns is when no regular staff are on shift and they obviously do not know the residents. The regular staff here are caring, they listen to my concerns etc and I cannot fault them.

Although my mother prefers to stay at home when we are away on respite, she does settle in due to the kindness of the staff. For my part, I am happy in the knowledge that the care provided is of a very high standard. I would like to give a special acknowledgement to the Manager, especially for her professionalism.
The home is clean and well laid out. I especially appreciate that there is a qualified nurse on duty 24/7.
The lift could do with a bit of TLC and parking at the front, makes it difficult to access the home with my mother in a wheelchair along with her personal belongings.

Carers are very approachable, friendly and attentive. Noticed a change in the mood, sociability of m uncle since he has been at Red Rose and he has settled in well. He's personal needs are well met and he is always clean and well dressed, compliments to care, domestic and laundry staff.

This home is lovely. All staff members are brilliant. If I want a chat, there is never a problem. Mam is looked after 100%. Mam loves it here. A very big change in Mam since she has been here. Mam is happy, so I am happy. I can sleep at night knowing Mam is looked after 24/7.

I was worried and reluctant to put Mum into a home. As a service nurse, I felt I could care for her so was especially guilty.
The staff in the home, every one of them, made her welcome and were caring and compassionate. Nothing was too much trouble. They were excellent. I cannot tell you how much this
meant to my mother, also an ex-nurse.
When she deteriorated, the staff; painter, laundry lady, cooks, carers, nurses, were exemplary and gave Mum tremendous care, were compassionate and understanding. I cannot praise them enough from bottom to top and myself and family thank them for making a very hard time a pleasure.
