Over all time Strathview has 47 reviews.
Food is tailored to her requirements, which she enjoys.
The home, in general, is clean and tidy with a bright outlook, like a large family house where everyone is involved.
Minibus trips have recently restarted, which seem to be a hit with the residents, as have visits to a local shop and cafe.
Would definitely recommend this care home.
Thank you, Bill, for your kind words and recognition of the team at Strathview. Your mother-in-law is a joy to care for, and we are thrilled we are able to get out and about again on trips with our residents. Your comments will be passed on to the team.

When I visit, she is happy and the staff cheery. When taking her out for a visit, she is dressed appropriately for the occasion and weather.
I consider myself fortunate that my aunt was able to get residential care at Stathview.

My sister moved to Strathview recently, and the care and attention she received
was first-class.
This home has a small enough capacity that enables each resident to be given truly tailored attention by the caring staff.
Thank you, David, for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased to read your wonderful comments about the care your sister is receiving and recognition of the team at Strathview Care Home; your comments have been shared with the whole team.
Mum moved into Strathview during the first lockdown in 2020, so we weren't able to visit in advance. We chose this particular care home based on reviews, reports and recommendations, and we have never once regretted our choice. Although the pandemic was not the ideal time for Mum to have to make the move into residential care, Strathview handled the situation as well as they possibly could have done in the circumstances. I've been particularly impressed with the very low turnover of staff, which gives the residents good continuity and also reflects very well on the general atmosphere within the home. Communication with relatives is excellent, the staff are friendly and positive, and the home makes great efforts to provide activities and to mark special occasions such as Christmas, individual residents' birthdays and the recent Jubilee celebrations. As a family, we have been very happy with the care Mum is receiving.

impressed by the care she has received. The staff are professional, friendly, helpful and caring. There are afternoon extra activities which residents can join in. There is also a Facebook page where I can see what’s been happening.
Thank you Lynnette for taking the time to leave us a review and for your kind words and recognition of the team at Strathview Care Home. Your comments have been passed on to the team who will be delighted to hear your feedback.
They are dealing with complex resident issues very well.
They put resident needs at the centre of what they do.

My mother moved into the home in April 2022 and is settling in well. She is very well looked after, and all staff are friendly and have incredible patience! My mother tells me she is happy in Strathview, the staff are excellent, and the food is very good. The rooms are very good and kept clean as are the common areas. Being all on one level is ideal for my mother, who is not good on her feet. All in all, I am very happy with Strathview and would recommend it.

Welcoming and comfortable home which cares for residents with dignity. Staff are friendly and involve the families in the life of the home and create an open and caring atmosphere which places the needs of the residents at the heart of what they deliver.
Mum has been here a long time and I have nothing but praise for the staff. Everyone is well looked after and entertained, the home is always clean and the food is good.
This is an extremely good care home, excellent care for the residents is given. Very pleased with everything.
Mum has settled in very well at Strathview. We find it is very homely and all staff are very friendly and caring towards the residents and their families. There are plenty of activities for residents and trips out in the minibus. Everyone is kept up to date with the regular meetings for residents and relatives and can have a say on any matters arising. Overall I have great peace of mind as I know my mum is getting the best of care at Strathview.
The manager runs this home very well. All staff are caring, friendly and attentive at all times. On weekdays a great varied selection of activities - games, music, craft, cooking and minibus outings are on. Good home cooking for everyone and individual tastes are catered for very well.
My Mum has been a resident in Strathview Care Home for almost 2 years during her stay I have found the staff to be very helpful, kind and they genuinely care about their residents. Mum has dementia and is not independently mobile so requires a lot of support and I feel that Strathview is the right place for her to have her needs met. She is always clean, well dressed and when I have been visiting around meal times the food looks and smells tasty. The home has been recently decorated and has new soft furnishings and this has made a huge difference to residents, staff and visitors it looks really lovely.
Nice and relaxing atmosphere.
More variety in food. Most staff are excellent.
We really appreciate your feedback. At Strathview we take great pride in ensuring we deliver high quality care and facilities and are very pleased that you have a positive impression of our team and the high quality care they provide. Our Head Chef and the team have many years of cooking experience...
The most important thing in a care home is the professionalism of the staff. The staff in Strathview are excellent.
My mother had stayed at a 'sister' home of Strathview (Scoonie House) which my mother was very happy to return to for respite However, there were no respite places available which resulted in my contacting Strathview for her 20 day period of respite. Both homes are excellent which to me says a lot about the Caring Homes Group. Their staff are obviously well selected and trained appropriately. Regarding Strathview in particular my mother loved the views from the window and could not praise the staff highly enough. My mother was there over Xmas and was made very happy. When I or my brother were visiting we both commented on the the staff being exceptionally pleasant and the home well run. I had reason to 'phone today about a financial aspect of my mother's care which I had been reluctant to pursue as all the staff had been so kind to my mother. I need not have worried - I could not have had a better response to my call. Five stars+ from a very happy reviewer.
All the care staff are friendly and approachable. I find the level of care given to my parents to be very good. I know the home has been understaffed and the staff have been stretched a bit lately. Hopefully, when the positions are filled it will make it easier for everyone. The residents have missed out slightly on their activities whilst the coordinator was going through further training. On the whole very happy with the home.

Meet the Team (1)

I have worked at Strathview for more than 10 years and, prior to that, cared for my mum and worked in the private care sector.
At Strathview, I’ve worked my way up from administrator to deputy Manager and finally home manager so I know the team well. I have always worked very closely with my team which is very important to me.
As a small home, it’s vital that we support each other and work well as a team. Every member of the team knows they can speak to me whenever they may need to and the same goes for our residents and their families.
I enjoy seeing how even just the smallest interaction on a daily basis can lighten someone’s face and make a difference. I work with people who have given their all to everyone around them and now it is their time to be looked after.
I personally feel that development and training is very important for both the team and myself – every day is a school day! I am proactive in supporting my team to take up all the opportunities provided as we want to be able to offer the best experience possible to our residents, delivering quality care.
