My Mum was a resident of Ardnahein Care from admission after a lengthy stay in hospital in December 2022 and has been cared for in a way I can’t rate highly enough. Every staff member has been welcoming, kind, informative, caring and professional in every aspect of my Mums care. The attention, stimulation and conversation with residents is second to none. I’ve been amazed at the high level and standards of care and kindness. My mum was always clean, dressed in her own clean clothes and allowed to choose what she wanted to do without being made or forced to participate in activities. Instead, she was gently encouraged and then allowed to participate to the point she wanted to. All residents are treated with respect and not as patients. The staff are exceptional at every level. Activities from simple stimulation with a bat and balloon to guest singers, musicians etc keep everyone’s interest and are well thought out and executed. Ardnahein Care is an exceptional home.
Wow! A big thank you for your lovely feedback. Mum touched many hearts and I will certainly share this with the staff.
The home is very welcoming and friendly. They do a coffee afternoon where all are welcome to come along, to interact with the residents. We enjoy visiting.
Thank you for your feedback and look forward to seeing you again at your next visit.
I feel safe, lovely views of River Clyde. Lots of things to do - the Burns Day piper, bingo and coffee mornings with a lovely cake. Always good food.
Thank you for your lovely review. We will continue to keep up our various activities and will continue with our afternoons with tasty home baking.
My mother-in-law is a frail lady of 97 years who has vascular dementia. She has frequent falls and therefore needs attentive care. On admittance, she was recovering from a fall. She did not adapt well to the two previous care homes we had to use for respite care. In contrast, she has made friends and settled in well at Ardnahein. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive to her needs and there is always something going on to stimulate her. My wife and I have joined her for lunch and were impressed by the presentation/quality/and variety of the food. We had an admin problem one Sunday and the care manager came to work on her day off to solve the problem. A plus point is her frequent falls are now infrequent. I have had experience with relatives of 6 care homes and this is the best.
Thanks so much for your lovely review, we really appreciate positive feedback and will continue to work to our high standards. And look forward to your next visit.
My mum was cared for in Ardnahein, she died peacefully there. The staff were very kind to mum and our family, despite Mum having complex needs and at times, some challenging behaviour, they never faltered. We were kept informed of everything that was going on for Mum and the level of communication was excellent. The food was to a very high standard and Mum was kept so well entertained, there was never a dull moment. I could name members of staff that I would like to offer gratitude to, but there are just so many and without exception, they were all great at what they did.
Thank you so much for a lovely review, this is very much appreciated. We would like to take this time to thank you for all the continued support you still give us.
As usual lots of activities taking place aimed at meeting the needs of all residents and many festive celebrations including Christmas Jumper Day. A lovely, family atmosphere where everyone - staff and residents - seem to know and care for each other in a safe environment.
Thank you so much for a lovely review, it is very much appreciated. And we hope to continue to see you at our coffee afternoons and other events that are upcoming over the next few months.
Great home and deserve all the recognition its gets from Dunoon and further especially being on television. That was very impressive and all the staff are friendly and the manager is just amazing. I am shocked what she has done to the care home and it has impacted Dunoon as a community as well as the school in the surrounding area.
Ardnahein Care home is a comfortable home-from-home. The staff, carers, management, catering, cleaning, etc, are all kind and caring. There is always some activity going on in the afternoons, and residents are encouraged to participate. I cannot express how grateful I am that my mother is here and happy.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review and we will continue to thrive on our home from home feel, within Ardnahein.
On every visit, I have found the home full of happy staff and residents. The home is warm, clean and always bustling with chat and laughter. The staff are always welcoming and clearly have their resident's best interests at heart. The activities they do with the residents always look so fun and entertaining. The food served always looks wonderful too. I very much enjoy my visits and plan to continue coming as long as they will have me!
Excellent in every way.
our friend was not very well at all when he moved in and it's lovely to see him looking so well and back to his old self.
She has improved massively physically, in her own home she was catheterised, bed-ridden, spoon-fed and alone. She is none of the above now, she takes part in activities, is in a wheelchair but, best of all, is taken outdoors which she loves.
I am very pleased with the care at the home, both the administration and the actual care workers. I can see there is a genuine respect for my Dad in the way carers ask him to do things rather than telling him to do things. There is an overall concern for his well-being and attention to his condition as it gets worse. It is very good to see and feel from the staff.
Thank you for your review, it is much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming relatives again very soon.
The care and love that my mother in law has received through the last 4 years is amazing. Catering to all her little requests and demands. When she was admitted to hospital for a standard operation and subsequently deteriorated rapidly - the additional support that we received from the staff was just amazing and very appreciated. They helped us navigate changes to ensure that she was able to get back to the care home quickly and with dignity.
Thank you, our caring staff aim to provide all of our residents with a comfortable, homely environment with the addition of a nutritious and delicious menu.
My Dad has lived at the Ardnahein for 18 months now, and as I live overseas and could not visit until March 2020, I was a little concerned as to how Dad would cope as he is very independent. After my visit, my mind was put at rest. Dad is well cared for in a lovely environment, he is treated with respect and all the staff that I was lucky to meet are amazing. Dad's health has improved and he is now happy and settled. They have kept Dad safe during the pandemic and have done everything within their powers to ensure I have regular contact with Dad, more so than I would've had if he had been living at home. Dad enjoys the company of other residents and has a joke and a singsong with the staff. I hate to think about how he would've coped if he wasn't in their care.
Thank you for your very kind comments. We aim to keep all our residents safe and happy at this particularly stressful time. It is also so important that relatives and friends of residents are included as much as possible through video calls on the portal, by telephone or with regular updates on Facebook.
Throughout the pandemic and the lockdown, the carers have done a great job in looking after everyone, both the residents and themselves. The care home, especially the manager, have been both strict and creative in how they have managed the pandemic and lockdowns. This has included the installation of a portal communication system, we’ve had regular video calls with my relative, the erection of substantial gazebos in the garden and finally the construction of their very own bubble! There have also been regular activities throughout the year involving the residents.
Thank you for your very kind comments which mean a great deal to our staff who remain committed to the health and well being of every one of our cherished residents.
My father looks healthy and well cared for - shaven, haircut, good skin, clean and comfortable clothes. He has learned the names of the carers and talks to them. Friends and family who have visited my father have commented on the friendliness of the staff and of the welcome they received (and hospitality) As I live abroad, phone contact is important and I have always been given good updates on my father's wellbeing.
A great atmosphere amongst staff and residents.
Really clean and tidy. Lovely family room for the visit.
Hadn't seen our friend in a year, when she was living in her own home, amazing improvement in her appearance and health. It was an impromptu visit, we were made to feel so welcome.
We can't thank the staff enough for making our visit so good and for taking such good care of our friend.
The manager, staff are very friendly and helpful. Good feel to the home when you walk in very clean, massive improvement to the home. I was very impressed, as it was years since I had been in, well done to the staff.
My father has been a resident for 3 1/2 years and in this time he has been given the best care we could hope for. He has now been palliative for 6 months and the dignity he has been given is outstanding. Every member of staff we come into contact with show us the highest level of professionalism and compassion.
