Overall Experience

My aunt moved into Ashgrove a few weeks ago and has been treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Although she has only been here a few weeks staff know her needs and likes/dislikes so well it feels as though she has been here longer. My aunt herself says she is happy here and very fond of her nurses/carers. On visiting my aunt is always spotlessly clean, nails clean and painted and one time even sitting with her rollers in. There is a great selection of food and staff quickly identified that she would benefit from adapted cutlery. There are always activities on when we visit and forthcoming events are well displayed. The clinical treatment my aunt has received has been excellent. Staff have been quick to identify when things aren't quite right with her and have responded effectively. Communication is also excellent. Staff are fantastic, always cheery. Nothing is ever a bother. We cannot thank you enough.

My Mum has only recently moved into Ashgrove Care Home. It is a brightly decorated home with spacious bedrooms. The staff there are kind, helpful and very friendly, taking time to give my Mother the care she needs, but also making time to discuss Mum’s needs with me. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the care my Mum is being given.

Overall Experience

My mum has advanced Dementia so is unable to communicate. I find the staff warm and helpful and always smiling. Mum looks more content than I have seen in a while and is always clean and tidy. Staff interact with her beautifully and have a good understanding of Dementia and how to communicate. Mum always has her teddies around her which is important to her, and her photograph albums are always on display for her to see. The accommodation is spotlessly clean. The manager is approachable and always visibly interacting with residents and staff. Staff have done their best during the difficult time with COVID and provided a room with perspex and intercom systems. Visiting is now being reintroduced with designated visitors being allowed indoors.

I have nothing but good things to say about Ashgrove. My mother has had excellent care and she seems quite happy. She cannot take part in some of the amenities because of her condition. If it's singing she'll sing along.

Overall Experience

Although we were in lockdown and some visiting was allowed, we found, as a family, that the staff did not seem to know the rules themselves. On one phone call we had to make an appointment, then another (with a different person) we did not! My mother was sent to hospital from the care home with nothing but what she was wearing! When I moved her to another care home she had someone else's clothes on and her watch and gold bracelet have gone missing. Very bad communication.

Overall Experience

My friend went to stay at Ashgrove Care Home after her husband passed away, he was her carer and, she couldn't manage at home on her own. She was wanting to stay in her own home, but it wasn't possible. After a couple of weeks of staying at Ashgrove, my friend says she is happy there. She has people around her all day, and every day there are activities on, and the activities she can't manage, the staff still makes sure she is involved. It is good when I talk to her, to hear that she is happy, and she always saying how helpful all the staff are. So well done Ashgrove.
