Braehill Lodge

My husband is a resident of this care home. I was a bit hesitant at first after hearing of some homes not being too good. We inspected the home first and we were very impressed with the manager and asst manager showing us the rooms ,lounges ect. I can honestly say my husband is very well looked after, my family and myself are so relieved and pleased to find a home that suits my husband . I have no problem discussing any queries I may have . The rooms are clean , always tidy . They make sure my husband is showered and shaved in the morning. The food is excellent, they choose what they want,the menu is varied , I would love it ! All the staff are very friendly and I feel assured that my husband is being given the best care in Braehill Lodge .Activities are every day which you can join on or not .

My brothers and I are comfortable knowing dad is getting the right care at Braehill - thank you.

It is quite early days as mum has only been in Braehill for 5 weeks but so far we are very impressed with the care mum is receiving. She is getting involved with the many activities offered. We have more peace of mind that she is being cared for 24 hours a day. The staff are all lovely and we feel it is good size of care home with a very homely feeling. The food is very good and mum is eating very well.

The manager, Andrew and his team, have brought a new energy to the care home where I can say that every effort is made to make the Residents feel safe, secure and cared for. This is especially important for people like myself who live abroad and have had to entrust a parent to the care of others. I am kept up to date by the staff of any changes in mum's condition.

As for the food, on Mum's good days I need to ask her to tell me how everything else is and not just focus on all the fantastic fresh meals she is enjoying at well structured times in a nice dining room not to mention the cups of coffee I've very kindly been offered whilst popping in to see her and home baking too.

I live a few hundred miles away and it's so reassuring to know my dad is safe, happy and cared for with respect and dignity. Thank you so so much for making my dad feel welcome and happy and safe in his new home. You're all amazing!

My mum wa admitted to Braehills a few weeks ago. She had had a fall at home where she then went into hospital for observation where she then seemed to suffer from delerium plus other cognitive challenges. This meant she needed full time care. Since arriving at the home my mum has received excellent care. The staff are extremely caring and always cheerful. They have been extremely accommodating in allowing us to make mums room feel more like home. She is eating much better than she was at home. The food is freshly prepared and mum always has a choice. As a family we are reassured that she is getting her medicine regularly as at home she was forgetting to take it at times. 10 days ago mum took a turn and was non responsive for a while. Staff went above and beyond to look after mum but we also felt that the staff not only cared for mum but provided care and support to the whole family, even making sure we all had something to eat. Overall an excellent service

I am very impressed with the care home and all of the staff. They are all very polite and caring. They take a genuine interest in all of the residents and treat them like individuals. The effort that goes in to treating each person with the dignity and respect is obvious and constantly on show. I feel happy and content knowing that granny it looked after well and that all of the staff know her personally and understand her individual needs, likes and dislikes. There is always somthing for her do get involved with and as a person with special dietary requirements I have been very impressed with the dedication to make her feel included in the daily menus and any snacks or special tea parties etc there have always been options available. The management staff are excellent at communicating with my self and the family giving updates and and relevant information regularly and immediately when required. As a family we are very impressed with the care home and would definitely recommend it.

Early days yet, only been in Braehill lodge for 4 weeks but so far all good.

Recent positive & increased level of care and attention has resulted in a dramatic, wonderful change in my friend who is now able to laugh & interact with me and staff. Previous months in 2025 were negative sad & very dull. At 101 years old I am amazed at this change and applaud staff for their marvelous efforts in creating this ethos. Well done & thank you.

Braehill has just come out of a serious investigation and in my opinion deserves a gold medal. The atmosphere in home is very upbeat which cascades through to the residents. More importantly an activity programme is in place and e mailed each month so we can plan visits around activity programs. It is great to see residents actually participating and being encouraged. The staff are also escorting residents outside for some much needed fresh air and sunshine. A new food menu has been created and daily menu placed on tables to remind residents of their choice! The new manager Andrew has come in with a wealth of knowledge and from my observations, the staff seem to be very upbeat, positive and engaging.

They have put our mind at rest, and we are welcome to visit any time . Today they had a wonderful Afternoon Tea for the residents with the best china out ..it looked fabulous ! Many thanks.

My aunt and uncle have been in Braehill for almost 18 months. We are seeing big improvements in personal care, activities on offer, staff engagement and management and leadership which we are sure will continue. Food and drink choices have been on-going issue however, we are hopeful that the new menu starting next week will change that. The involvement of bath residents and family members has increased and that brings comfort in knowing that our thoughts/worries are listened to resulting in maore individual care. We look forward to this enhanced care continuing to be built upon development.

My father-in-law has been a resident since August 2025. I find the staff all very friendly. They know us and we have got to know them well. All know Bill is very well and attend to his needs. The carehome is clean, tidy & well maintained. Food choices are excellent also & tea/coffee always on the go. Care is excellent. We have no complaints. Management in Braehill are excellent too! Keep up the good work.

All staff already understand his needs & preferences and they often tell me how much they enjoy their interactions with him and they love his character.

Strong management team. Good communication with staff, take pride in their work. Easy to speak to. Always given a good welcome. Family have total confidence in the care given. They are also supporting the family. They give us peace of mind. They provided the best care for our relative on a daily basis. Making them comfortable, safe and not ignored. Also seeing ton their personal and medical care. Treated with dignity. The rooms are clean. Laundry is kept up to date. Meals are sufficient. The garden is easy to access and move around. Various activities are held throughout the year. Overall we as a family are very satisfied with Braehill Lodge.

I am so impressed by the care, dedication and kindness shown by all the staff to residents and families. There is a welcoming, homely atmosphere, and staff have gone above and beyond their remit for my mum many times.

I am relieved that he is comfortable and happy, as is the rest of the family. He is 93 years old.

All staff understand the needs and care required for each resident. A warm welcome is always given to relatives. They are excellent at keeping me informed of any changes in care requirements. All staff are well trained, organised and provide a high quality of care in a happy and warm environment.

Braehill Lodge is clean and well maintained. The home has a friendly and warm atmosphere. The room my sister is in is bright, clean and well kept. It is plenty big enough for her. I have found all the staff to be helpful and caring. The senior carers are always available to listen to and act on any concerns. All staff members always greet you and speak to the residents with respect and warmth. There are a variety of activities on offer and my sister has enjoyed everything she has participated in. She particularly enjoyed going out on the Trishaws along the seafront and having an ice cream. Inside activities appear to be as fully inclusive as possible. Other family members who often phone always get to speak to her and when they recently visited commented on how pleased they are that she has settled in well and is happy to join in with things. I am happy to recommend Braehill Lodge as an excellent care home option.
