Braehill stand out because they provide a warm and caring environment for all residents. Each resident is treated as an individual and with dignity and respect at all times. They work hard to provide entertainment throughout the day and there is always a happy atmosphere. The residents' welfare appears
to be their primary focus. The carers are very skilled and experienced, they are patient and supportive of residents and their families.

I drop in to visit my mother at various times and days of the week and am impressed by the consistent high standards of care and genuine affection of staff towards all clients.
This is a lovely 'home' environment, with sufficient facilities to keep people reasonably well occupied.
Also good ensuite
facilities for showering. Bathrooms are spotless too.
The decor is always being improved to keep the home looking right and keeping its look and feel of a country house. Prices recently increased but it's still good value for money.

Braehill Lodge came highly recommended by local families and health professionals.
My father has been a resident for circa 8 months and I have been delighted with the care provided thus far. Staff very friendly and interact in a very caring manner with residents.
Lots of laughter and generally a
friendly/happy environment. The premises is very homely, cleaned to a high standard and I would have no hesitation in recommending Braehill Lodge to other families.

My mother was in Braehill Lodge for the final year of her life, receiving love and exceptional care from the marvellous team there. The home is well maintained, freshly decorated and clean.
There is a warm environment and the residents are treated as individuals with respect and compassion. My mother
recently passed away and the end of life care was exceptional.
They looked after us too during her final days. They were kind, compassionate and respectful, making her final days peaceful and comfortable and we commend the team of wonderful staff.

Sadly, I have just lost my Mother who resided in Braehill for over 4 years. She was very ill latterly and was treated with the utmost respect and compassion by all members of staff. Cannot praise the staff highly enough. Braehill was a very welcoming place for family members and nothing was too much
trouble for the staff. My whole families thanks to everybody who cared for my Mum and you are all very special people.

My brother has been a resident for more than three years and as his condition deteriorated the care has been adjusted accordingly. His quality of life is very poor and it is difficult to see what could be done to improve but the staff keep him comfortable and relatively pain-free.

Braehill offers a safe and secure environment with good facilities for residents. Staff members are bright and cheerful and are always on hand to give help and assistance when required. A wide and varied programme of activities are available and encouragement is given to participate.
Our parent's
room is bright, comfortable and well cared for. The grounds are attractive and offer a good opportunity for 'fresh air' during fair weather and summer months. We are very happy with the care given.

Mum went into respite care in November, this turned into full-time care in December. Mum and social services chose Braehill Lodge and I and mum cannot be happier with the care she receives. Having served in the RAF for 28 years and living in Norfolk I can sleep easy at night as I know she is in a good
environment and a happy caring one. I phone each week and always get a quick answer and they know where mum is and pass her the phone and we have a chat. I have visited twice and can't praise all the staff for the excellent care but you can.

It was with trepidation I agreed to my mother going into a care home. I need not have worried, Braehill is just like a small hotel. All her needs are catered for and all the staff are loving and kind.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.419)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.419) out of 10 for Braehill Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.669 for Braehill Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (84 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 118 Ratings = 4.669
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Braehill Lodge is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 10 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
