I am well pleased that my wife enjoys the competent, professional care and whole sympathetic nursing qualities that are very evident at Dalnaglar. In my opinion, she is very fortunate to have been accepted as a long-term patient into the Balhousie facility.

My mother's care from the very first day she arrived at Dalnaglar has been consistently excellent. All staff do their very best to ensure resident's safety, happiness and health. The building is warm and fresh to be in. Staff listen to the relatives and are so quick to phone to tell you anything you should know. I couldn't do what they do - thank you to all.

Dad has been in Balhousie Dalnaglar for a few years now, the staff have kept everyone safe and well during the current climate. He is quite happy in the home, the staff are very attentive and call me if he needs anything or if they need to tell me any concerns they may have about Dad.

I believe they are doing the best that they can while keeping in line with the current restrictions.

Review from Frances T (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 June 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident in Dalnaglar for nearly 3 years and during the last three months, especially, the staff have demonstrated a very caring attitude. There has been very good communication between the home and relatives with lots of pictures on the family and friend's Facebook page. There are many varied activities each week and we can easily keep in touch via Skype. When phoning to arrange a Skype call it is effortlessly arranged and staff are on hand to support my mother, who finds communication difficult. It is so reassuring to see her and know that she is being well looked after.

Review from Hazel M (Niece of Resident) published on 24 June 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our family have been very impressed with the care and support our elderly Aunt has received throughout her time at Dalnaglar but particularly during the Coronavirus Pandemic. They have worked tirelessly to ensure that residents and staff are protected as far as humanly possible from contracting the virus, and to ensure that families are kept informed and in touch with their relatives. They have also maintained a busy and engaging schedule for the residents and we are extremely grateful to them all for the proactive communication which has helped to lessen the impact of not being able to visit them.

Reply from Gillian Drummond, Brand and Communications Manager at Dalnaglar Care Home

Dear Hazel, many thanks for your kind review of Balhousie Dalnaglar. We're happy to hear that you feel so supported by our staff, particularly during this difficult time. Kind regards.

In general, the home is of a good standard. Rooms are well furnished and you can take your own if desired. It is now under a new manager who is trying to get more furnishings and to get more activities organised. Staff are polite and helpful.

Reply from Kirstene Feenan, Marketing Manager at Dalnaglar Care Home

Thank you for your review. We have recently employed an activities coordinator who started with us just two weeks ago. She comes with lots of energy and ideas of how to develop activities within the home. We feel this will really add to our service and help deliver person-centred care for all our residents.
