Welcome to Rutherglen Care Home which has five individual Houses, each offering a warm and homely environment for residents. Care is offered to those with dementia, as well as residents requiring help with with nursing and respite needs.

This purpose-built care facility is situated in the Glasgow suburb of Rutherglen, next to Overtoun Park and a short walk away from the town centre. The home offers a high standard of accommodation and facilities to support a positive social atmosphere, with bright sunny rooms, extensive landscaped gardens and bedrooms that can be personalised to individual taste.

Nurses are on duty in each House 24 hours a day, and are supported by an extensively trained Care Team who ensure that residents' personal care needs are met.

In terms of overall wellbeing, there is an extensive Activities Programme with Reminiscence Classes, Craft and Gardening Clubs and a variety of other activities tailored to residents individual interests and abilities. Strong community links are a priority, with local nursery schools and community groups visiting on a regular basis.

The Chef and his team use only fresh ingredients to make sure that each meal is packed with nutrients and is high in calorific value. Additional staff includes a large Housekeeping and Laundry team and a long established Maintenance and Gardening Department.

My relative has been well cared for and fed. Having the care and attention has improved my relatives quality and quantity of life. If all palliative care homes had the same structure of management then other ill elderly people would be happy and not afraid of going into care.


Anything I have asked

as regards my relative has been answered or dealt with quickly and efficiently. The staff needs more "hands" at meal times and toilet times as these are the busiest and everything "needs" at the same time.

Dad's personal care with staff has been good he has also got great relationships with some of the staff they have learnt his needs quickly. Although had problems in the past with some issues we feel after having meeting with everyone these seem to have been resolved. We have got a great relationship
with most of the staff and they are always willing to help with any issues that we have. Dad joins in any activities when he is well enough to do so and as a family we enjoy these times with dad.
