Very very good. My experience has been absolutely wonderful, the managers and staff were very helpful, cheerful and happy and made my stay absolutely wonderful. I will be very sorry when I leave. I highly recommend this home to everyone it's a very high standard.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. It was a pleasure to have you in our care. I would like to thank you personally for all your continuous support given to Highgate's staff during your stay. We hope to see you again soon. Stay well and safe.
My brother - a survivor of several strokes - has only been in Highgate for two weeks, and we can all already see a huge difference in his apparent state of mind and in how clean and presentable he invariably is. He looks much happier, and his engagement with the staff is very positive and promising. Everybody is very friendly and supportive, yet reassuringly strict with residents' care protocols. Recently, I have contacted them to arrange an upcoming birthday do and was blown away by the offer of an in-house birthday cake, decorations, crockery and glassware and generally the whole-hearted intention to do everything possible to make it a very special day for my brother. It means so much to have this kind of peace of mind.
Dear Paola, thank you very much for your wonderful feedback. It is a pleasure to have your brother with us. Also, your efforts to visit him are remarkable. I would like to thank you personally for all your continuous support given to Highgate's staff during your visits. I'm looking forward to seeing you again at The Highgate. Stay well and safe.
The staff themselves make a good team and create a friendly caring atmosphere.
Thank you for your positive review. It is a pleasure to have your mother in our care and she is part of our family. Here at The Highgate we always value open and honest communication. Stay well and safe.
I rang this morning to wish my daughter a happy birthday and was immediately offered a face to face call later in the day. Really appreciated the offer as we live so far away from the Highgate that visiting is not really practicable.
Thank you for your kind words. We hope The Highgate Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible with you being so far away. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care and please let us know if you would ever like a face-to-face call please let us know.
She was very insensitive in my opinion and told me to cheer up. Something that I wouldn't tell anyone to do ever.
We are sorry for the loss of your father and having spoken to the nurses on shift, they are sorry that they made you feel this way however, they didn't mean for the disrespect and wanted you to know that they are here to support you.
This is an excellent care home. Very spacious and clean, beautiful gardens and overall a very pleasant ambience. My wife has received excellent care from the management, nurses and carers. We could not have hoped for better. I have not seen activities as my wife has not been able to participate, but they appear to be good. My wife is in the home with costs paid by NHS continuing healthcare, so I have no rating for value for money.
Thank you for your feedback. It is so nice to hear you say you could not have hoped for better care for your Wife. Please let us know if there is anything further we can do to make her stay as comfortable as possible.
Highgate is a safe secure environment. The staff are caring and kind. I look forward to the time when we get back to having an activity coordinator. The staff certainly care for my well-being and I certainly appreciate their dedication.
Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you find all our staff to be caring and kind and you feel well looked after.
My dad was a doctor and had a stroke about 5 years ago. He was not expected to live more than 3 months. Five years later and he has finally passed. Was not able to eat or ambulate, but had an excellent quality of life and the staff kept him in great shape all those years, thank you!
We really appreciate you taking the time to write this review. Please accept our condolences for your loss.
My husband needed urgent discharge from hospital, and The Highgate Care Home gave him a lovely home, a room with a view over gardens, and all the care he needed to recover from bed sores received in the hospital and have given him a pressure releasing mattress. Because he had suffered a severe stroke, he is fed through a peg direct into his stomach, all very professionally done by the nurses and carers. Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy that your husband's circumstances are now improved. Thank you for choosing us to care for him.
I was so impressed by the quality of care. The staff were kind, warm, helpful, efficient and professional. It was a major component in my post-operative recovery. Thank you to all who were part of the team. The kitchens were very accommodating and I ate well, thank you. The night staff were always responsive in giving me pain medication. Thank you, I would be happy to stay again. There are always things that could be improved, some people came into my room without being introduced, but I managed. The cleaning in my room and bathroom was not every day, but I managed. The bed was not right for my hip pain, but I managed. The cupboards and drawers were stained, but I managed. I know how hard it is to maintain a property, so I am not complaining. Once again, thanks to all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are glad to hear that your stay at The Highgate helped you recover after your operation. Thank you again for your feedback and for choosing us for your care.
Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Care is excellent and care home is very clean. Easy to get to by bus and all in all a very nice place with wonderful and caring staff.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, It is always nice to hear from friends feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your loved one's stay as comfortable as possible.
Disappointed that I can only see my wife once a week. Apart from that, it's OK.
Thank you for your feedback. We are currently following guidance from Public Health England to manage all our residents' visits, we must make this fair for all our residents and their families. Hopefully going forward we may be able to offer you more appointments. I will certainly pass your...
My friend has been with the Highgate care home now for 9 months. I go to see him every week and I must say, the team are wonderful, they work so hard and I’m glad my friend is in such a lovely place being cared for by such lovely people. Whatever the query or issue, they are always prompt and sorting it out.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is lovely to hear you feel that your friend is being well cared for at The Highgate and that the staff are "wonderful". Thank you again.
This is my second visit to The Highgate Care Home. It does not disappoint. Staff at all levels are welcoming, professional and caring. Food is of a higher standard than one could reasonably expect, with excellent choices each day. I have also been impressed by the dedication to provide social activities under the extreme conditions of a pandemic. Every day the tireless team arrange attractive events, some online, which residents clearly enjoy.
Thank you for trusting us with your care. Thank you for your kind words.
Mum had been very ill post-emergency surgery and needed 24-hour quality nursing care while she recovered. The care and attention she received at Highgate were excellent. They all took the time to understand and support her particular needs and made sure she had all the support, care and attention she needed, and kept us well informed during a very difficult time. Everyone has been so patient and sympathetic, as well as going out of their way to help us all. Most grateful.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after.
I have been a resident for 4-years; all staff come across professional and caring. The carers on the floor are very kind and look after me well. The food is generally good and appetising. My bell is usually answered within a good time frame.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so pleased that you're satisfied with the care you're provided at our home. Please let us know if there is anything more we can do to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
The team at The Highgate Care Home are incredible at their job! They are extremely friendly and genuinely caring, which has been a great comfort to our family. Our Uncle is well taken care of, and on several occasions, they organised video calls during the Covid lockdown as we were not able to visit. So grateful to them!
Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely comments.
I find on every occasion that I have visited Highgate Care Home the staff have been most helpful, going out of their ways to make things easier for the visitors and the patients. The garden and the outlook from all angels is very ver pleasant, the surroundings are in an ideal place of Waterlow Park, and I would recommend that anyone staying in the care home will be very happy.
Thank you for your feedback; it's always nice to read such kind words.
I can confirm that the nursing home is looking after my sister very well, we are all as a family very grateful especially a time like this, they make sure we have a video call at least once a week thanks to the first-floor staff. Thanks again to all the staff.
It is always nice to hear such kind words being used to describe our care.
The food is bland and repetitive, would like to see more traditional dishes.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the picnic and BBQ in the garden and the outdoor music therapy group. I attend the exercise class and I’m sure with time and effort I will succeed in enjoying the results.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely and constructive comments.
