Visited my uncle with my mum and sisters.
On arriving, the welcome from the staff was amazing, very friendly and caring.
The staff kindly provided lunch and refreshments and a room where we could sit and spend time as a family.
I was absolutely overwhelmed by the kindness and care they showed
to my uncle.
I would highly recommend this care home for a safe and loving environment for a family.

We were given a very warm welcome from our first enquiry. The team at Lennox House welcomed my sister with great care and respect. They were interested in what she had done in her life, what she enjoys, what she might find difficult and how they could reassure her when necessary. Her care is excellent.
Staff are observant and ready to make any changes that might help. I feel fully included in my sister's care and in the links that the home has with GP and wider services. The activities team are there to offer support so that my sister can access some lovely activities. The chef ensures that she has good food that she enjoys. I feel there is a shared team commitment to high standards of care and continued staff development. When I leave after each visit I feel confident that my sister is safe and well looked after in a warm and respectful environment. Thank you for making her family feel included in Lennox House.

All the staff are incredibly caring and friendly and always very welcoming. The support from the initial visit has been amazing and helped get Mum placed in time for Christmas. Knowing she is now safe and being looked after now is a huge relief.
The fact I can take our dog in to visit means I can pop
in more regularly on walks and the residents are always happy to see him too.

Was a little bit scared of the change when my mother was transferred from her care home to Lennox House Nursing Care about 6-8 weeks ago. The staff have been so helpful and have satisfied all of my mum's needs and seem to have given her a new lease of life.

Under the new management at Lennox House, the home is moving from strength to strength. My friend has been a resident at the home since August 2019 so we have experienced all the improvements put into place. The nursing and medical care are excellent. My friend's medical condition is better controlled
than it has been in decades. Staff are helpful, interested, and courteous. I can happily recommend this home for your loved one

All the staff (and the management) in the last year have been fantastic. They have helped in my visits with a friendly, can-do attitude. Considering how hard everything has been with Covid they are pretty upbeat. I feel Mum is being looked after well and they telephone me if there is any reason to do
so. I can recommend Lennox house with no hesitation. The Unit Manager is super helpful in nursing and the Activities Co-Ordinatoris super in singing for everyone.

I have found nothing to alarm me about the care of my mother she finds the staff very helpful and her only complaint is she does not like the food but that is a personal choice which she understands.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Personal Assistant at Lennox HouseWe would like to thank you very much for taking the time to write a review for Lennox House. We are pleased to hear that your mother feels our staff are very helpful and we thank you for your positive scores for the care and overall standard of our home. We are aware of your mothers’ personal choices regarding food and are of course always happy to accommodate her likings on a daily basis. We have established a weekly menu with her which gives her freedom of choice and we will be happy to frequently discuss this with her to ensure the menu is consistently suitable. Thank you again

What is very evident are the improvements in general - someone welcoming on the desk. Very easy and polite Covid testing - tea made available whilst waiting etc. On the ground floor the staff were also very welcoming and made a point of saying hello. My cousin clearly has good relationships with the
care staff and they were getting ready to celebrate her birthday. There was a sense of fun and humour around. I have been kept well informed of any medical issues with sensitivity - ie starting any phone call with reassurances that things are ok.
I hope the entertainment is now getting going - I understand that jury service interrupted things earlier in the year. It would be good to see some photos.
I know my cousin likes spicy food and things like pain au chocolate - I guess she finds the food a bit on the bland side.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Personal Assistant at Lennox HouseThank you for your review – I’m so happy to hear your kind words about the home and the good relationships your cousin has made with the team – it’s exactly what we strive for. In regards to the food, we’re very lucky at Lennox House that we have a chef-led team who prepare all the meals in-house with fresh ingredients, so we’re always able to tailor dishes. We always want our menus to be driven by the needs and wishes of the residents, so I’m sure we can discuss your cousin’s preferences with her and the Chef and make sure that the food is suited to her tastes.

I have the highest regard for Lennox Care Home from cleaners to management, everyone is cheerful always greeted with a smile, hello
And if there is anything we want.
The care taken with mum is exceptional due to her dementia and deafness they manage to converse and make her laugh, mum loves the music
and singing that is provided she manages to have a little dance in her wheelchair. Nothing is to much trouble for staff when asked to do anything for us and mum.

My mother has been at Lennox House since May, initially for a respite stay and then for a permanent stay.

Friendly, courteous staff. Food is varied and enjoyable. There is a need for more activities and hairdressing for patients. Overall management is good, all meals are catered for. The level of cleanliness could go up a notch, mainly, the smell of urine and dust on sides.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, PA to Marketing Director at Lennox HouseThank you for your review and good scores - we were very happy to read your kind comments about our team and the food at Lennox House. In regards to activities, I'm pleased to say that we have recently extended our lifestyle team with an experienced person to lead the programme - there will be lots of new ideas implemented, but of course if there are any activities that your mother would enjoy, just let us know and we'll be happy to look into it. In terms of cleaning, we do have a housekeeper working on every suite - however, we do realise that some areas do need some work to get back to standard, and we are currently scheduling contractors to help us paint and refresh some rooms. Thank you again for your feedback, and don't hesitate to let us know now or in the future if you have any comments, questions or suggestions.

On the whole, the care home, the staff and facilities seemed to be exactly what my mother required at the time.
I have visited people in other care homes, and whilst I appreciate that when one has residents with complex care needs, it will always be challenging for the staff to maintain their own
sense of proportion. However, I sensed that the atmosphere in the care home wasn't as "happy' and "positive" as perhaps it could have been. I don't know what the answer is, however, I have been to other care homes that are more expensive per week and wondered if it comes down to simply money spent on say paying the staff a little more or incentivising them?
Just a thought.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Personal Assistant at Lennox HouseThank you for your review, we were very happy to see your good and excellent scores, particularly for the care and the team at Lennox House. We were a little surprised by your comments about the atmosphere in the home, as this is not reflective of the positive feel we see in the home every day. Please rest assured that our rates of pay are fair and comparable to other providers – we also offer excellent incentives such as our GEM (Going the Extra Mile) scheme and excellent training and career progression. We do cater to all care types at Lennox House, from residential through to nursing and dementia care, so many residents will have very different needs, likes and personalities. For some, they will enjoy group activities and lots of music and stimulation, whilst others may prefer a quieter environment with more one-to-one interaction with the team – we of course go out of our way to cater to everyone, and make sure that every resident is comfortable and cared for in what is their home. Please do let us know if you have questions or suggestions now or in the future, and you are very welcome to pop in at any time for a cup of tea to see more of what we do.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.792) out of 10 for Lennox House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.792 for Lennox House is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 274 Ratings = 4.792
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lennox House is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 87 registered maximum number of service users is 17.4, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I am a qualified General Nurse and came to the UK after training in Romania.

I chose to work with Care UK as they offer outstanding training, a variety of career pathways, and a friendly, supportive environment, regardless of the role you select.

The desire to help and to actively get involved in the treatment of the patients gives me great fulfilment.

I am now pursuing a degree in Health and Care Management, and I believe that a job in care management is one of the most gratifying careers available.

As a Home Manager, you must be trustworthy, communicative and able to complete a variety of jobs and responsibilities, including acting as manager when needed. I assist the management with making crucial decisions, attending meetings, hiring and training new employees, evaluating business performance, preparing reports, and coordinating across many different departments, which demands excellent leadership abilities.

My emphasis is on the success of the team and ensuring that everyone meets the objectives.

What motivates me is the knowledge that my hard work and determination will lead to greater professional achievement. Respect, compassion, and dignity are key principles in my opinion, and I am accountable for ensuring good practice in person-centred care as well as guiding and supporting this approach in the employees I supervise.
