My husband has settled in and staff are able to cope with his challenging behaviour. He has his own room with armchairs for visitors, a window with a view. His room is cleaned daily, and staff tell him what they are going to do. Staff are approachable if we have any concerns.

The Albany is a really good care home. It is the third one my mother was in, and by far the best of the three. It is calm and peaceful, with staff who really show care and consideration, patience and affection for residents. My mother was much calmer, more relaxed and happier here than in her previous care homes. There were good activities which they encouraged my mother to join in with, and families were included in larger-scale events and celebrations. We were always able to talk with staff, including nurses and the manager, and we were listened to and treated with respect.

On a very personal note, we were happy our mother had her final days at the Albany rather than either of her previous care homes (or a hospital). Her end of life care was excellent, respectful and caring, and staff also looked after the many family members who visited our mother in the final stages.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful and heartfelt review Alex. Were so pleased that you found The Albany to be such a positive place for your mother, and that she felt calmer, happier and more relaxed with us. My husband who has had a stroke due to sepsis complications and has complex needs., peg fed, double incontinence and unable to walk got transferred from another home because of lack of care to Albany in March 25. The staff at Albany were mostly rude didn't speak good English/understand and I went mainly on Sundays as it was like ghost town no nurses/carers around found my husband in bed halfway down with a full nappy and not even been given a drink. My husband always hated being left alone in his room and shouted out to get him out as he has not lost his speech. They let him go in the lounge one hour a day then back to his bedroom, when he shouted as he got no stimulation what so ever from this place as these are mainly dementia' residents who just lay or sit there all day without being able to communicate and the ones that make a fuss or noise get drugged up with medication to shut them up! He is now at another home, no medication been given not needed - what a difference in him in already!!

Staff show a great attitude and commitment to the care of the residents. All the staff are attentive to the needs of the residents and are very helpful. Have been impressed by the friendly and attentive care given to the residents and have always found the staff welcoming, on my visits to the nursing home to see my mother.

My sister was lovingly looked after in her last days at the nursing home by dedicated and respectful staff.
She spent over 5 years there and we felt she was very well cared for and involved in activities.

Staff were always happy to talk if there were any issues and quickly resolved them.

This experience was initially challenging and daunting in many aspects. However, my fears and anxieties were soon laid to rest as the overall presence and attitude of staff was very complimentary. I was treated with respect and professional behaviour was displayed at all times. The care given to my wife was very good and emphasis mainly centred around her being made as comfortable as possible. Please continue the good work.

My beloved sister was recently a resident of Albany. Myself, brother and niece's have nothing but praise for the staff and management who run this wonderful home. My sister received the greatest of care whilst she was there, and the staff went above and beyond to make us, her family, feel supported, and this means every single member of staff, not just one or two. Their care of our sister was truly faultless. The home was clean, the food excellent, and nothing was too much trouble, either for our sister or for us, her family, and, as a family, we are just so thankful that she spent her last remaining days there, being cared for and supported. On behalf of her family, we would like to thank all staff and management from the bottom of our hearts for making the unbearable more bearable. Thank you.

Outstanding care home the respect and dignity they show the residents is by far the best. They cared and gave them time even if bed-bound. They fulfilled their days with dance, laughter and games. The individual 1-1 care was perfect they showed them time, it wasn't rushed.

When I first visited Albany Nursing Home the reception staff and manager were friendly and knowledgeable. They were happy to show me around and discuss options, despite there being no room available at that time. I was able to put my relative’s name on a waiting list. When a room became available the Home contacted me immediately and all went smoothly after that.

The carers and nurses were kind, capable and understanding of my relative’s needs. I could discuss his preferences and behaviour with them. They were able to inform me how he was each day. We learned from each other so that my relative received the best care possible. He was clean, comfortable and content under their care.

Staff are competent and experienced. Overall experience is generally good.
The resident is well cared for in my opinion.
Sometimes the cleanliness of the resident's floor is sticky.

My father was in Albany Nursing Home with Parkinson's disease for six years. In all this time he was extremely well looked after; always washed and shaved, always with clean clothes. The home is extremely clean and tidy. The manager and staff are superb, good food as well. There are frequent activities too. The nurse being on duty twenty four seven is brilliant too and the doctor is also available at short notice. Hairdresser and chiropodist etc. visit regularly. All in all, this is a superb home which I would recommend. Lovely rooms and ensuite bathrooms.

Mum was moved to Albany from Hospital under Bed Blocking rules because of this circumstance I was more than ready to look for faults. Instead, I found the professional caring staff from cleaners to nurses and admin. Mum was only there for 5 months but she was content and especially at end of life, well cared for and respected. The staff of all ages communicated and promoted calm.
