Albany Nursing Home

The carers and nurses were kind, capable and understanding of my relative’s needs. I could discuss his preferences and behaviour with them. They were able to inform me how he was each day. We learned from each other so that my relative received the best care possible. He was clean, comfortable and content under their care.

More activities needed. Better facilities needed.

My father was in Albany Nursing Home with Parkinson's disease for six years. In all this time he was extremely well looked after; always washed and shaved, always with clean clothes. The home is extremely clean and tidy. The manager and staff are superb, good food as well. There are frequent activities too. The nurse being on duty twenty four seven is brilliant too and the doctor is also available at short notice. Hairdresser and chiropodist etc. visit regularly. All in all, this is a superb home which I would recommend. Lovely rooms and ensuite bathrooms.

Mum was moved to Albany from Hospital under Bed Blocking rules because of this circumstance I was more than ready to look for faults. Instead, I found the professional caring staff from cleaners to nurses and admin. Mum was only there for 5 months but she was content and especially at end of life, well cared for and respected. The staff of all ages communicated and promoted calm.

My husband was in Albany Nursing Home. He was there for sixteen years. He passed away in May. The home was very caring and understanding. The staff were excellent, always there to help you. They would phone me if there was a problem. Management always ready to talk too. Cleaners would also go and talk to him. I can't thank them enough.

My mum was transferred to Albany Nursing Home in March 2021 following an inpatient stay in hospital. The home is warm, clean and welcoming and is excellently managed by the manager. As a family, we were invited to be involved in all elements of my mum's care and were kept informed of all decisions made. The care and level of professionalism shown by all of the staff at Albany is second to none and I never felt rushed whenever I called for an update on my mum. The staff were well informed and happy to share news of her day and how she was eating, sleeping etc. When my mum passed, the staff were amazing. They allowed us time as a family to spend with mum and made us hot drinks and comforted us. They were sensitive to all of our needs and made a very painful time manageable. I would not hesitate to recommend Albany Nursing Home to you for the care of an elderly loved one, particularly one suffering from the awful symptoms of dementia.

Carers were always friendly and helpful. Overall very happy. Some of the resident's clothes were missing and she had clothes in her room that weren't hers. Admin, re invoices, not great. Could never get in touch with the accountant.

I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful care my mother received while she stayed at Albany Nursing Home. The staff were very friendly, and I was impressed as they would keep in contact with me by phone giving me an update on my phone regarding my mum's condition. Nice room and a caring manger. Well done!

The staff and management were supportive and helpful as we transitioned our father from the hospital into their care. They bent over backwards to make everyone involved feel comfortable and settled in the new environment. Our father's health improved daily due to love, care and dedication of all the staff.

From the moment he arrived at Albany House, we felt that he was looked after very well and was always kept informed when any problems arose with his care. The staff on his floor that took care of time showed great empathy and understanding of his illness. We were very grateful for the phone call, which enabled us to be with him when he passed away.

My wife was in Albany Nursing Home for nearly three years, and she was suffering from sheer anxiety (off the scale). I found the staff extremely compassionate and caring, although my wife could be difficult at times. Sadly she passed away at the end of August, and the support that I and the family received was second to none.

I would recommend this nursing home to anyone; it is clean, friendly and has a great manager and staff. It's like home to home. My auntie was a resident from 2018 to 2020 when she suddenly passed away, June 21 2020. She had a great time during her stay; she was well-loved by everyone.

With many renovations made to the place itself from time to time.

My wife was in Albany for only a short period of time, two and a bit weeks. She died in the home. I was there every afternoon and early evening for several hours. The staff were consistently kind and caring, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Although my wife's death was sudden and unexpected I could not have been happier with the care she received.

My Mum was in Albany for 18 months until she passed. She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. She was always clean and presentable, which is how she had lived her life. Thank you to all the staff members for making my Mum's life as happy as her health allowed.

My father was admitted for palliative care on the 4th January and he loved it. The staff, carers and nurses were wonderful, nothing too much trouble for them. They were always cheerful and so helpful and my Father loved to chat to them. All the staff and nurses were wonderful to the family. Keep us informed, the room is fantastic, so clean, cosy and warm. The family would like to thank all at Albany Nursing Home - wonderful.

Although I was nervous at first putting my mother in a nursing home because of stories you hear in the media, I found the home to be caring, friendly and clean. She was treated with dignity and kindness. My mother was looked after by nurses. Carers and staff that became like family.

Found all staff very kind, compassionate, caring to my mum in her last few days of life. A very very very sad time for me but very comforted by the compassion and love, care, concern shown given to my beloved mum.
