My mother in law stayed in the care home for nearly 3 years. She had really good service she enjoyed her stay in here. The staff are so good, kind and helpful. They looked after her really well. They let us celebrate her birthday party her. They provided the party rooms. They always welcome the visitors. They

Visiting my mum i took along my daughter who had yet to see her nan in this care home that she was transferred too from another carehome. On arriving we were both treated with such smiles and a wonderful good morning. Was asked if everything was OK did we need anything we had a chat at reception for
a while. Took daughter in the lift which again no problem at all. Went to mums room she was sitting up in her bed ( it was early ) great smile on her face once she recognised we were family. Made a cuppa had a chat. Took daughter around the home to show her how nice it was. Mum had even had her toe nails done to my excitement as its not a job I like doing lol. I did bring my nail equipment so I did her finger nails. Took old varnish off etc. This home has taken such a weight off of all our shoulders.i. so relaxed now knowing mum is happy where she is. She loves her tv so having it on while she eats her breakfast is like being at home. THANK YOU

My Father has been in this care home about 4 months now and he has improved so much and is much happier. The home is a very clean and safe environment and he gets along very well with all the staff. It is run very professionally and their standards are very high. From the maintenance, carers, office
staff, nurses and management, he is treated with a great deal of care and dignity each knowing and addressing him by name whenever they are in contact with him. We feel very secure in the knowledge that he is checked upon each and every hour throughout the day and night. They have a professional hairdresser and chiropodist on site which he has used a couple of times so far who have seen him in his room as he is currently bed bound but they also have a salon conveniently located on the ground floor. This is so well priced and is actually cheaper than most high street salons. Alina, Georgiana & Anca have been so helpful to him and have played key roles in his development and progression.

Management and staff have been extremely friendly and helpful welcoming my partner entering the home. The accommodation (his room) is very spacious and always very clean and tidy. The lounge, although very large, is well laid out with several smaller areas where residents can sit and watch TV or look
out of the window. I am impressed by the number of staff available to assist both carers and nurses. I have not witnessed lunchtime meals but afternoon tea is usually quite good but perhaps would be improved with a little more fresh fruit and sometimes the sandwiches have hard crusts. Overall I have been pleased with the care and attention to detail.

I cannot thank the team enough for all the care and support they offered my mother in her last month at Brook House. It was with a heavy heart that she could not return to her own home after suffering a fall in October but her condition was such that she needed round the clock care. They encouraged
her to eat and drink and engaged her in conversation when she was able. Every member of staff showed a caring and compassionate attitude at all times to our the family and especially when it became much more tough towards the end of her life. Sadly she became very poorly at Christmas and staff changes which were inevitable during this time did not detract for the excellent care she had before and after; they all got to know my mother very quickly and were very understanding. I cannot fault anything about the wonderful home and I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone.
Bless you all. xx

Albany Nursing Home

from Alexander L (Son of Resident) published on 20 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The Albany is a really good care home. It is the third one my mother was in, and by far the best of the three. It is calm and peaceful, with staff who really show care and consideration, patience and affection for residents. My mother was much calmer, more relaxed and happier here than in her previous
care homes. There were good activities which they encouraged my mother to join in with, and families were included in larger-scale events and celebrations. We were always able to talk with staff, including nurses and the manager, and we were listened to and treated with respect.
On a very personal note, we were happy our mother had her final days at the Albany rather than either of her previous care homes (or a hospital). Her end of life care was excellent, respectful and caring, and staff also looked after the many family members who visited our mother in the final stages.
Reply from Gurjeet Singh, Area Manager at Albany Nursing HomeThank you very much for your thoughtful and heartfelt review Alex. Were so pleased that you found The Albany to be such a positive place for your mother, and that she felt calmer, happier and more relaxed with us. Its lovely to hear your kind comments about our team, the activities on offer, and the way families are included and supported. Were especially grateful for your words about your mothers end of life care. It was a privilege to care for her and to support your family during that time.

I had been in hospital a little under 19 months (the NHS is in shambles), social services couldn't find any suitable properties for my needs as I'm fully dependent on those around me. They told me the day before my discharge, I would be coming to a old people's care home.. I was dreading it, and being
44 yrs old on top of what we saw in the news about care homes around covid times!
I came here on the 24th December, and have to say the staff welcomed me and and helped me settle in. Being physically impaired and cognitively intact, I see how they interact with the elderly dementia residents, with dignity and respect.. everyone has their own personalized space which is very calming, I didn't think I would settle in as I have! Not sure how long I will be here, but I know I'm in great hands... The staff are happy, also have to say the manager is AMAZING! didn't realize she was the manager the first day she helped me with personal care! Any concerns, she is on top of it!
Appreciate it!
Reply from Narcisa Ciubotaru, Registered Manager at Mornington Hall Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how daunting it must have been to come to a care home at a younger age after such a long hospital stay, and we truly appreciate your openness.
We're very pleased to hear that you felt welcomed and supported and that you've been able to settle in more comfortably than expected. Treating all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion is extremely important to us, and your kind observations mean a lot to our team.

My husband has been a resident at Mornington Hall now for 10 months. He continues to get very good care. The staff are always very welcoming, caring and treat him with respect and dignity. I recently had an issue that needed attention. I spoke to a member of office staff about my concern and immediately
