Mornington Hall Care Home

from N I (Resident) published on 27 January 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I had been in hospital a little under 19 months (the NHS is in shambles), social services couldn't find any suitable properties for my needs as I'm fully dependent on those around me. They told me the day before my discharge, I would be coming to a old people's care home.. I was dreading it, and being
44 yrs old on top of what we saw in the news about care homes around covid times!
I came here on the 24th December, and have to say the staff welcomed me and and helped me settle in. Being physically impaired and cognitively intact, I see how they interact with the elderly dementia residents, with dignity and respect.. everyone has their own personalized space which is very calming, I didn't think I would settle in as I have! Not sure how long I will be here, but I know I'm in great hands... The staff are happy, also have to say the manager is AMAZING! didn't realize she was the manager the first day she helped me with personal care! Any concerns, she is on top of it!
Appreciate it!

My husband has been a resident at Mornington Hall now for 10 months. He continues to get very good care. The staff are always very welcoming, caring and treat him with respect and dignity. I recently had an issue that needed attention. I spoke to a member of office staff about my concern and immediately
addressed my problems and implemented my request to my husband care plans. It's so comforting to know that your concerns are listened to and acted upon. Thank you Mornington Hall for caring for my husband.

This care home has gone above all expectations for care and staff activities. My husband can be very difficult at times but they have had the patience of a saint to deal with him. Christmas has been exceptional and they took care of family as well as the patients. I couldn't wish for a better place
of care for him. Thank you so much

The Care staff were very caring, and showed nothing but kindness to my Grandad during his end of life. They ensured his dignity and comfort throughout his short stay with the home. Excellent communication from the home, ensured I could be there when he passed. I can't thank the home enough for making
the last Chapter of his life the most comfortable and dignified as possible.

Nice environment. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room is ok. Like to see Joe in the TV room rather than lying in his bed.

Ravenscourt Nursing Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My elderly father moved into Ravenscourt in April 2025. Following a severe stroke back in 2017 he had become extremely frail and effectively bed-bound. From our first contact with Ravenscourt, we received nothing but understanding, compassion and support. My father was with them for a relatively short
period, 6 months in the end, and during his stay the care he received was excellent. Any issues were resolved promptly and without fuss. From the Care Home Manager through to the Admin and Support staff he was treated with professionalism, compassion and respect as were we as family members. The Manager has an open-door approach and was never too busy to speak with us. She makes you feel like you are the only family they are dealing with and nothing is too much trouble. The Nursing Team and Care Team are exceptional and we are so thankful for the care he received particularly in his last few hours. I have no hesitation in recommending Ravenscourt to anyone needing care for a loved one.

My husband who has had a stroke due to sepsis complications and has complex needs., peg fed, double incontinence and unable to walk got transferred from another home because of lack of care to Albany in March 25. The staff at Albany were mostly rude didn't speak good English/understand and I went mainly
on Sundays as it was like ghost town no nurses/carers around found my husband in bed halfway down with a full nappy and not even been given a drink. My husband always hated being left alone in his room and shouted out to get him out as he has not lost his speech. They let him go in the lounge one hour a day then back to his bedroom, when he shouted as he got no stimulation what so ever from this place as these are mainly dementia' residents who just lay or sit there all day without being able to communicate and the ones that make a fuss or noise get drugged up with medication to shut them up! He is now at another home, no medication been given not needed - what a difference in him in already!!
Reply from Michelle, HR Manager at Albany Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We are obviously disappointed that you have had a negative experience. My mum is staying there for the past 3 months she was referred by the hospital to stay at care home. My sisters and me were worried about the situation. My first visit before my mum went, I was impressed about the place. The place was way beyond my expectation. So far we are all happy to see my mum
settling in. To this date she was living on her own, so it is bit unsettling for her at the beginning. Now she understand that there is no other choice and accepting the situation. The staff and management are very friendly for her to settle in this care home. Thanks everyone.
