The care home is adequate for mum's needs. Staff are friendly and helpful. The care home is well maintained. Response could be better. Communication good. More staff would be a bonus.

Thank you for your very valuable feedback. We take pride in receiving your feedback as this helps us to improve our service for your loved one. Staff are allocated depending on the needs of people who live in the home. There is a monthly review of the needs of Residents and this is shared with our Clinical Director who will help to determine the levels of staffing required. We also have ongoing recruitment of people who are passionate about care. We do not have many vacant hours at the moment.

Mum seemed to settle very quickly for her respite stay which was really reassuring. Having a very nervous personality we were unsure how she would react but we need not have worried. She was made to feel most welcome and was included in social events and an outing. Can't thank the staff enough as it
allowed us to relax and enjoy our week away knowing she would be cared for and happy.

My father sadly passed away at the beginning of October having been a resident at Cedar House for 18 months. Although his stay was not without issues the staff always did their best for Dad, caring for him with kindness and dignity. During his final days, the staff couldn't do enough for him and his
family and we were all able to be with our Dad at the end for which we will be forever grateful.

My mother was a resident at Cedar House for the last 2 years of her life when she had dementia. Staff were caring and kind, the home was clean, welcoming and felt safe. There's a nice garden so visitors can take their relatives outside in good weather. The bedroom was nicely furnished but you could
bring extra items and have pictures hung on the wall to personalise.


There were regular activities but most seemed designed for a stereotype "old person" - bingo, Vera Lynn singalongs, etc. My mum was never into these kinds of activities, so I felt she needed more mental stimulation. Even varying the range of music (classical, jazz, etc) would be good.


My mum mostly liked the meals though she complained that they kept putting sugar in her tea and there was no fresh fruit and salad.


The staff were sensitive regarding end of life care and looked after Mum kindly to the end, though I was surprised and sad that nobody from Cedar House attended her funeral.

I am very happy with the care that my husband receives. I am also lucky as he has a one to one care support.
He has settled in his environment and he is comfortable. Although he has a one to one, the other staff are supportive of him. I know the home very well as I see my husband every day.

Although mum was fairly unaware of her surroundings, she appeared content and not unhappy. She was well cared for by the regular staff who got to know her well, sadly agency staff have to be used a lot of the time and do not have the same rapport.
We were very grateful for the kindness and care given
to mum up to the end of her life.

I take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all at HC-One Cedar House Care Home Harefield. The care given to my husband was amazing they have also supported me 100% during this sad time.


The Manager of Cedar House Harefield all of your staff are fantastic, they all give over and above the

call of duty, from housekeepers, admin, catering and nursing staff I thank you all, if it was not for your dedicated care I may have lost my husband before.


There is so much bad news in the Media about care homes, but this one is a gold star home.

Mum moved into Cedar House in January 2017 and I could not be happier with her care. The staff are amazing and very caring. She is kept clean and warm at all times. She is treated with dignity, the rooms are clean and bright and the manager is a lovely lady. I am 100% happy with Mum living at Cedars.

On my mother's arrival, she was greeted by a young carer. She knelt down to speak to her in a most caring manner. She was respectful and spoke to her as an adult. The carer was very young and really impressed me and I will never forget.

Patience

Patience Sibanda

Job Title: Home Manager

“For me, kind care is being a considerate and respectful person that supports every Resident as an individual.”


As a Registered Nurse, Patience has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Patience closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Cedar House.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Patience remarked:


“There’s nothing better for me than sitting with the Residents and learning more about their lives.”


In her spare time, Patience enjoys singing, walking, travelling and spending with friends and family.
