Cedar House Care Home has been very beneficial to my brother's well-being. He had a host of problems - both mental and physical - but he was as outwardly content there as anywhere he had been in the past few years. The staff showed care and compassion and were very welcoming to visiting relatives.

Cedar House Care Home is an excellent care home. Rooms and communal areas are bright and cheerful and there is a lovely garden with plenty of seating for residents and their families to enjoy. The home manager is completely dedicated to the home and is always friendly and welcoming, she has a wonderful rapport with residents and is always on hand to help and reassure them. The whole team are loyal and hardworking - nothing is ever too much trouble. My mother wasn't always the easiest of residents but she was always treated with kindness and a smile. Cleanliness is excellent and meals always appeared appetising.

As always, Cedar House Care Home staff have provided excellent care. My husband is not an easy person to understand and care for. Our family are reassured that my husband is receiving the best care consistently over seven years.

We are very grateful.

The staff in Cedar House Care Home are so warm and welcoming. They were friendly and approachable. My dad was not a resident for long there but all of the staff tried to make him comfortable and happy. They tried to accommodate all his food preferences and were lovely to my mum.

My father resides at this care home and I am very grateful and pleased with the kindness and care shown to him. Despite being busy and short-staffed at times I am sure they were always pleasant and polite when I called, nothing was too much trouble for them, they always went out of their way to locate my father so I could speak to him on the phone. The manager was always kind and attentive and did whatever she could to make sure my dad was comfortable. My dad looked very comfortable in this setting and had no complaints when I spoke on the phone to him and when I visited eventually between lockdowns. I was pleased he received great care at such a worrying time for the staff from the start of this pandemic.

Cedar House is a well-designed care home accommodating approximately forty residents, with pleasant gardens and sufficient parking spaces. The staff are well trained and kind. The home manager is very dedicated and willing to undertake any task to make the home run smoothly. Her team are loyal and hardworking and the nursing staff are very caring. They made every effort to accommodate my window visits during the Covid-19 lockdowns and although it was difficult, they managed to keep the residents safe. My aunt suffered from acute anxiety and dementia and the team tried hard to involve her in activities and support her choices but time pressure in care homes is relentless.

Staff seem to be very caring, professional and positive attitude. Cedar House does not feel like one imagines a care home to be. The garden is very pretty and peaceful. The home manager is very friendly and seems to be very efficient.

Overall Experience
My brother has been resident at the home for two years now, he has dementia and is very active. He lives his life in the memory of his work days in the film industry special effects, assuming he is at work still. This makes him quite difficult to control and he can be argumentative to requests by the staff as he does not see himself as being a resident.

The staff like him a lot and handle him very well by suggesting he can help if he does this or that, this is kindness to him and is freely given, this gives him an illusion of normality and a purpose in life. In December they organised a fantastic 80th birthday party for him. We said if they needed anything for the party we would supply it but they did everything to a marvellous standard, for which we are very grateful. We would recommend them to anyone.
