other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I want to thank the staff at Greville House for their fantastic efforts in looking after my wife and the other residents particularly over these last few weeks; it has been a tough time for everyone, especially when visits stopped again, but the team have laid on splendid entertainment and kept me informed
by video link - that was so important for me. My wife also had her birthday on the 29th of December and again the staff made it a special day for her with singing and decorations; I was able to watch her on the link when the staff opened her presents for her - that was great. A massive thank you to everyone at Greville House.

My mother had been extremely ill, in July (with a NON-Covid illness) and spent several weeks in hospital followed by a few weeks in a Rehabilitation hospital. It soon became apparent she was not going to manage to walk as she used to. So, the decision to place her in Greville House was taken. I and
my siblings have been most impressed with the loving support the Nursing and Caring staff have shown my mother. They have made her welcome, from the start of her moving in, providing her with the assurance she needed, and making her stay at Greville House easier for her to accept. I visit my mother regularly, but on visiting her last week, I was thrilled to see just how well she is looking. Something I didn't expect to see. She is happy, has made friends with some of the other residents, gets along very well with the staff. So thank you to you all. You are amazing.

My husband has been a resident at Greville House for just over two years. It took a long time to settle in as he is registered blind, his hearing and speech impaired and his mobility nil. However, he seems much happier now particularly since the change in management. The staff also are more welcoming
and relaxed, communications with relatives has improved 100% and so has the atmosphere in general. We have regular zoom meetings between relatives and staff in a free and open exchange. The catering is excellent and the specialist nursing staff attentive and caring. I feel they have dealt with the Coronavirus crisis efficiently and with consideration to the well being of residents and relatives. This last year has really been a severe test emotionally for relatives and residents and organisationally for the Greville House staff - to their credit, they have worked extremely hard to maintain good standards of care, stability and security for residents.

My mother was resident in Greville House for 3 months during which time she was extremely unhappy and her health deteriorated. She often complained that during the night staff were unwilling to come to her aid and during the day she was made to feel a nuisance when asking for help with small tasks.
Many times I rang and she was upset because staff had shouted at her. When visiting, the place seemed chaotic, noisy and the reception was regularly left unattended so it was difficult to get through. The internet connection is extremely unstable in some parts of the building so Skyping can be very unsatisfactory. There are some genuinely lovely carers there but unfortunately they were overshadowed the insensitivity and lack of empathy displayed by more senior members of staff. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

Generally, Greville House is good, however, I do receive calls from my mother on a regular basis upset because she has been treated like a child or shouted at. She says she has woken abruptly from sleep and not given enough time to gather herself. She needs help in some areas, i.e hairwashing on a regular
basis, her legs washed and creamed daily. She feels pressured into eating more than her appetite will allow. Unfortunately, the family are not with her 24/7 so we are not able to see how she is treated when we are not there, I find the carers to be very nice people but I don't live with them, so I don't really know. It is our duty as her family to put our Mum's best interests at the forefront.

Your mother has been with us for close to a year and within that time, we have tried to accommodate her every need, which includes our staff making sure her hair was cared for when the home hairdresser was unable to come in due to COVID. We do a full dependency analysis for each resident, which is used to plan your mother’s care team, in order to ensure that care is safe and appropriate for her needs at all times. However, we do take your concerns seriously and will pass your comments to the home manager, who will be in touch.

Mother was there for less than a month. Deteriorated rapidly and the staff didn't seem to be aware. They knew very little about my Mother. On the day before she died, I complained to the manager about how bad she was but the manager seemed to think she was Ok. Found staff arguing on occasions. Would
not recommend to anyone.

My mother has been at Greville House for 16 months and I have always been very impressed with the home, staff and facilities they provide.
Any problems we have, the management staff are always there to help.
I cannot fault this home in any way.

My sister is a relatively new resident so is not eligible for a review yet. However, I have always found the staff to be accommodating, helpful and willing to sort out any problems and have gone out of their way to make my sister welcome and very comfortable.
