Overall Experience
My father spent the final months of his life at Homefield Nursing Home, where he required continuous 24 hour care due to a complex spinal cord injury. The standard of care he received was exemplary and far exceeded our expectations. The carers and nursing staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism, compassion, and genuine person centred practice throughout his stay.
It was the thoughtful, everyday acts of kindness that made the greatest difference to both our father and our family. Staff took the time to share moments of humour with him, and they checked on him regularly to ensure he was always comfortable and supported. They made a clear effort to understand him as an individual, ensuring he had the small comforts he enjoyed - including bringing him ice cream and mango juice, his favourites.

As a family, we are profoundly grateful that we chose Homefield. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire team for the outstanding care, kindness, and dignity they provided to our father.

My late father was only a resident in Homefield for 12 weeks but the care he received was amazing. Staff were kind, considerate, eager to help and towards the end of his life compassionate.

I would not hesitate to recommend this nursing home to anyone.

My uncle has been in the care home for eight months now and he has settled very well. He has dementia and exhibits very challenging behaviour. Tawona and her team have done everything to help him settle in and treat him with dignity and respect. They are so patient and kind to him, even on his worst days.
The care he receives at this home is second to none. He is cared for and all his needs are met.we feel that he is safe and in the right place for him.
The home is clean and his room is cleaned and tidied everyday. The food is nutritious and varied, if he doesn't want to eat, he is offered other things to coax him to eat.
We are always involved in any decisions about his care, they listen to us and take our ideas onboard.

We are very pleased that he is in Homefield, the whole team are amazing.

It has been a full year since my mum has been in Homefield, and it has been a wonderful year!! She has received the best care I could hope for. Everybody from management to carers to kitchen staff to the janitors are kind, considerate, helpful and caring. The Homefield Care Home is bright and cheery, and the new entertainment man has brought more fun and appropriate games and stimulation to great heights. Food here is fab, and the chefs and kitchen staff create great food. I know Mum will have another happy year. Thanks!

The staff are very welcoming and caring. Clients are respected and the needs are well understood and supported.

The lounge area on the ground floor is bright and welcoming. With good facilities and activities.

The bedrooms are kept clean, but could do with freshing up.

I have had a fair amount of experience with care homes over the last decade and will say this one is by far the best.
The staff are all very caring and particularly friendly making it a pleasant experience to visit my mother.
Like all care homes, things do go wrong and occasionally the best care has not been given but it is acted on immediately and we are always well informed of outcomes.

I am thankful my mother is with Homefield.

Since my wife who has vascular dementia and severe Alzheimer’s, I have been very pleased with the level of care she has received since her admission in June 2023. She is treated with considerable care and respect and although her condition is non-verbal her reactions are very positive. The staffing level is very good, and often on a 1 to 1 basis - nothing is too much trouble. The cleanliness of the home is excellent and they employ adequate staff to keep it so. They have regular activities, especially with exercises, which are constantly monitored. It has a "home-to-home" feeling and the staff are very friendly, considerate and understanding of my wife's condition. The food is excellent and any dietary requirements are met with care and attention. They often have visiting entertainers come in for special occasions like Christmas, Valentine's Day etc and provide facilities for relatives and friends to come in and celebrate birthdays, anniversaries etc. A dedicated visiting doctor and other professionals provide any specialist care required. Security is good with electronic door access. I highly recommend this establishment.

My husband moved to Homefield in November 2020. The manager and the staff are amazing and work very hard. Their care for and patience with my husband and all the residents shows real dedication and consideration of the individual needs of everyone who lives there.
They create memory boards for his room, take time to stimulate him and remind him of the family.

My family and I are so grateful for the interaction, care, respect and dignity that is given to him every day. I can't thank them enough.

Homefield Nursing Home are more than a nursing home, they not only care for the residents but ensure that the family are kept informed and that the family’s wishes are an important part of the care given. Mum was given care and nursing that were second to none and treated as an extended family member by the staff. Although only at Homefield for four months before she died I cannot begin to put into words how the care is given made her time there special.

Homefield cared for my mother for four and a half years until her recent death. The care that Mum received from the carers and nurses was fantastic. She was extremely well looked after and not one bedsore during that time even though she was immobile. The management have been fantastic to us and very supportive. My father visited my mum every day (when allowed) and they treated him as part of the family. Even through Covid they did their best to keep us informed and allowed visits whenever they were permitted by the government to do so. The entertainments, concerts, parties, dogs were excellently arranged and enjoyed by all. I would like to thank them for all they have done for us and for the way they looked after Mum and also Dad.

Homefield is a wonderful environment and the staff are truly superb, the care they provide is fantastic and their compassion is second to none. I am so glad my mum is a resident, the carers do all they can to make sure she is happy and healthy and enjoying life in her twilight years. During the Covid epidemic, they have displayed enormous commitment and dedication to keeping those they care for safe and well. Everyone is treated with the utmost dignity and respect. I cannot fault Homefield and would very highly recommend them.
