Greenhill Nursing Home cared for my aunt for the last five years of her life. The staff provided a warm, caring and active environment in which she blossomed after struggling at home. She took part in many activities and interacted well with other residents. She ate well which was a strong positive indicator of her mental state.

As her dementia deepened she became less active but staff still encouraged and helped her to join in with others whenever she could. Staff were good at keeping me informed of any issues which they thought I should be aware of. Managers were visible, approachable and communicative. I am very pleased that we chose Greenhill. After living in her own home for so many years I had been concerned that she may find the transition difficult but happily this was not the case and Greenhill was truly home for the last chapter of her long life.

Mum has been a resident here since March 2026, she has been so well looked after by everyone since she arrived. Mum has dementia/alzeimers and has some behavioral issues now. The staff are all first rate and has received outstanding help and care as she moved through this difficult time. She is settled here, she recognises everyone and has put nearly a stone on since arriving!! The home is spotless everyone knows your name, everyone is caring and so very kind to Mum. Mum is spotless too!! Thank you Willett House, a wonderful new home for Mum.

Last week marked three years since my mother moved into Willett House. From our first visit, the warmth, clean surroundings and professionalism of the manager and staff reassured us. It felt like home then, and even more so now. As a family, we are grateful to know Mum is safe, respected and well cared for. Her food is freshly prepared, and her hydration and weight are carefully monitored, with prompt action taken whenever needed. Any concerns I have raised have always been met with kindness and a willingness to help. Mum's Christian faith has always been central to her life, and the Christian chaplain is a wonderful part of the compassionate and holistic care she receives. This week she is visiting a museum in London with Willett House, where her grandchildren will meet her-a full-circle moment, as she once took them there on school holiday outings. Indeed, we never know what the future holds, but thank you to the management and staff for holding our hands every step of the way.

I cannot express how relieved, happy and grateful I am for Willett House. I had so much anxiety putting my mum into a nursing home as well as the realisation that my mum will never be the same again. But, the staff and carers have been absolute lifesavers and I don't use that analogy lightly!! They always have time for the relatives, and are so friendly and welcoming, they really are brilliant!
They are not only experts in their fields, but they should also be acknowledged for acting like 'counsellors.'
I definitely believe that I would be in an extremely dark place if it wasn't for them!

From the bottom of my heart , I cannot thank them enough for everything they do!!! I would recommend Willett House to anybody, the care is impeccable and when going through a trauma like we all are, I know I've made the best choice in my life!

Review of The Elms Residential Care Home from Angela W (Respite Resident) published on 25 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

This care home proved to be a safe haven after a traumatic emergency admission to hospital with pneumonia. Six weeks bed bound left me doubly incontinent, very weak and no longer able to walk. A convalescent rehabilitation spell at The Elms was a godsend and the truly caring supportive staff have quelled my anxiety and enabled me to face returning to my own home in a fresh positive frame of mind, 'healed' body and spirit. Contact with full time residents has also been revelation on how we humans were meant to all help one another.

Review of Homefield Nursing Home from Lisa H (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father spent the final months of his life at Homefield Nursing Home, where he required continuous 24 hour care due to a complex spinal cord injury. The standard of care he received was exemplary and far exceeded our expectations. The carers and nursing staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism, compassion, and genuine person centred practice throughout his stay.
It was the thoughtful, everyday acts of kindness that made the greatest difference to both our father and our family. Staff took the time to share moments of humour with him, and they checked on him regularly to ensure he was always comfortable and supported. They made a clear effort to understand him as an individual, ensuring he had the small comforts he enjoyed - including bringing him ice cream and mango juice, his favourites.

As a family, we are profoundly grateful that we chose Homefield. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire team for the outstanding care, kindness, and dignity they provided to our father.

Our Mum has been a resident at Willett House since October and has received first-class care since the moment she arrived. Mum has the later stages of dementia and can be difficult at times but the staff have been so very understanding and compassionate in nursing her through her daily life. The property and residents are always clean and the staff are always helpful.

We feel we could not have got a better care home for Mum in this difficult time of her life.

My mum has been a resident for about 3 yrs she is now 101 and suffers from dementia & I couldn't ask for a better care home, the staff are so friendly and accommodating. The building is spotless and the management has a residents family meeting every 12 weeks where they discuss the latest issues and any forthcoming plans.

My dad was in Greenhill Care Home for a couple of weeks to be assessed. During his stay I saw the bond he had formed with the staff that have me and my family feel at ease. They made his final weeks happy and comfortable. They were always available for a chat and a catch up on my dads progress. My dad always said how hard they worked and what lovely people they were. As a family we will always be grateful even if he was only with them for a short period of time.

My Dad spent his last weeks in Greenhill Nursing Home. We couldn't have wished for better care. The staff were absolutely lovely, they were all happy in their work and genuinely cared about everyone.

The premises are very bright and airy and very clean, there are no restrictions with regards to visitors and my Dad was very happy and very appreciative of the care he received from the staff. My Sister and I were very worried about Dad going into a care home but everyone made us feel totally relaxed and we were absolutely relieved to have found such a lovely, friendly environment for Dad. Although we thought the decor and room was old fashioned and very basic for our Dad who came from a beautiful very stylish flat, the care was far more important to us than the furniture and we would have preferred to have kept him there rather than move him to plusher surroundings. We are so grateful to the staff for looking after him in his last few weeks and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the home.

On discharge from hospital on 'end of life care' my mother spent the last month of her life at Willett House suffering from advanced dementia. The care she received was outstanding and the staff were excellent. Everyone we came across seemed to genuinely and deeply care about her dignity and comfort even though she was largely oblivious to such matters herself. Please do not be put off by the slightly dated decor compared some newer homes, the care and attention we received as a whole family was so much more important.

I was a trustee of Mission Care until 2018. I used to visit the home on that capacity. I am very pleased to say that all the impressions that I gained at that time have been more than fulfilled in my recent visits to Elmwood since my 97 year old mother was admitted in September. The staff are brilliant, from the home manager to the domestics. All are kind, considerate and very friendly. My mother is extremely happy and very well cared for.

My uncle has been in the care home for eight months now and he has settled very well. He has dementia and exhibits very challenging behaviour. Tawona and her team have done everything to help him settle in and treat him with dignity and respect. They are so patient and kind to him, even on his worst days.
The care he receives at this home is second to none. He is cared for and all his needs are met.we feel that he is safe and in the right place for him.
The home is clean and his room is cleaned and tidied everyday. The food is nutritious and varied, if he doesn't want to eat, he is offered other things to coax him to eat.
We are always involved in any decisions about his care, they listen to us and take our ideas onboard.

We are very pleased that he is in Homefield, the whole team are amazing.

It has been a full year since my mum has been in Homefield, and it has been a wonderful year!! She has received the best care I could hope for. Everybody from management to carers to kitchen staff to the janitors are kind, considerate, helpful and caring. The Homefield Care Home is bright and cheery, and the new entertainment man has brought more fun and appropriate games and stimulation to great heights. Food here is fab, and the chefs and kitchen staff create great food. I know Mum will have another happy year. Thanks!
