Overall Experience
Greenhill Nursing Home cared for my aunt for the last five years of her life. The staff provided a warm, caring and active environment in which she blossomed after struggling at home. She took part in many activities and interacted well with other residents. She ate well which was a strong positive indicator of her mental state.

As her dementia deepened she became less active but staff still encouraged and helped her to join in with others whenever she could. Staff were good at keeping me informed of any issues which they thought I should be aware of. Managers were visible, approachable and communicative. I am very pleased that we chose Greenhill. After living in her own home for so many years I had been concerned that she may find the transition difficult but happily this was not the case and Greenhill was truly home for the last chapter of her long life.

I always leave the home after visiting my dad, without having to worry. The care he receives here is very good. The staff are genuinely caring and the atmosphere in the home is always happy. I'm very pleased that dad has a place here.

My dad was in Greenhill Care Home for a couple of weeks to be assessed. During his stay I saw the bond he had formed with the staff that have me and my family feel at ease. They made his final weeks happy and comfortable. They were always available for a chat and a catch up on my dads progress. My dad always said how hard they worked and what lovely people they were. As a family we will always be grateful even if he was only with them for a short period of time.

My Dad spent his last weeks in Greenhill Nursing Home. We couldn't have wished for better care. The staff were absolutely lovely, they were all happy in their work and genuinely cared about everyone.

The premises are very bright and airy and very clean, there are no restrictions with regards to visitors and my Dad was very happy and very appreciative of the care he received from the staff. My Sister and I were very worried about Dad going into a care home but everyone made us feel totally relaxed and we were absolutely relieved to have found such a lovely, friendly environment for Dad. Although we thought the decor and room was old fashioned and very basic for our Dad who came from a beautiful very stylish flat, the care was far more important to us than the furniture and we would have preferred to have kept him there rather than move him to plusher surroundings. We are so grateful to the staff for looking after him in his last few weeks and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the home.

My wife has been sectioned nearly 10 years & cannot communicate or repsond. Dedicated, professional aid of the highest standard in all fields is required & has always been performed by dedicated staff. Now non-weight bearing, the complicated needs & problems my wife presents have always been met with treatment & respect, allowing her as much dignity as possible in the circumstances, staff's patience & humour in trying situations have lightened the load.

On the whole we are happy with Greenhill, the staff and carers are lovely. Maybe a social media account would be good so we can see the activities that go on - I know other care homes do this.

We are so pleased we chose Greenhill to care for mum in the last months of her life. The staff gave our whole family a warm welcome. At all times staff were caring and very responsive to mums needs. It was also wonderful to have the pastoral support, with the church service and 1:1 visits for mum in her room. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job and caring for mum.

Due to dementia, my mother has been in the home for 21 months. After taking time to adapt she now seems to be as happy as would be expected. Being based 400 miles away I visit for a few days a month and have never seen any issues that concern me regarding her care.

My uncle spent the last fifteen months of his life at Greenhill Nursing Home. He was extremely well looked after with the greatest of care, compassion and kindness. I cannot thank the nursing staff enough. Great kindness and understanding were extended to me and my family, especially when we were ill and not able to visit him regularly for a while. They were wonderful.

Two of our elderly community members were resident at Greenhill for one month. We were anxious about how they would both settle but from the moment we entered the premises we were all given a wonderful welcome and made to feel at ease. We visited several times and saw the excellent care that was given. The home was exceptionally clean and bright. There seemed to be an excellent staff ratio and staff were very visible (not hidden in offices) and joyful - all seemed to be dedicated and willing to go the extra mile.

We were extremely satisfied with the care given and would most certainly give it a five-star rating. Thank you and keep up the good work.

I cannot praise the staff highly enough, especially one member of staff in particular who cared for my mum in her last few days. My mum was transferred to Greenhill Nursing Home from the hospital for palliative care and I only wish that she had been transferred sooner as the care she received including the kindness and attentiveness of all the staff was so much better than she received whilst in hospital for 6 weeks. The fact that all the staff went out of their way to talk to me and my family each time we visited was very kind and they genuinely felt the sorrow I was feeling when my mum sadly passed a few days later. Everything about Greenhill was so nice, from the ample parking outside, to the warm and welcoming reception and corridors, to her room and the view from her window of the squirrels and the fox going about their business outside, I am so pleased that my mum was able to spend her last few days at Greenhill. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

My daughter has been in first residential care and now in nursing care for a number of years. Mission Care owns both homes. Greenhill has proved a very caring and homely environment for her. Although she is beyond long conversations, she seems quite content, happy and relaxed, so in turn gives us (her father and me) peace of mind.

My mum can be very difficult at times and the staff are always pleasant back to her. They are caring for all her needs. When she gets frustrated and very agitated they go above and beyond to help her calm down. They always get extra ice cream for her when asked. Sometimes this is all she will eat! Thank you for all your care - you are angels.

We visit my aunt every week and are impressed by the standards of service provided by the staff. Everyone is so friendly and look after my aunt so well. Additionally, they call me if they have any concerns about her health or well-being which is comforting. We have been so fortunate in finding such a well-run establishment as Greenhill. We can relax knowing she is well looked after. Thank you.
