Overview

The Review Score of 7.6 (maximum of 10) for Knights Court Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Knights Court Nursing Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 3.915 for Knights Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (17 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 3.915

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 3.688 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Knights Court Nursing Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.5

    2. Target of 16 positive Reviews (80 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 3 Reviews ÷ 16 Target = 0.188

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

7.6 Knights Court Nursing Home has a Review Score of 7.6 (7.603) from 7 Reviews

I travelled over from Ireland to visit my Uncle. It was my first time visiting him at Knights Court Nursing HOme. I was delighted with the appearance and condition of the home. Above all else, I was relieved and very happy with the care from the nurses, carers and staff. There is a deep culture of care and empathy for the residents in the home. It was humbling to see. I met with the Home Manager and Doctor and they couldn't have been more generous with their time and advice regarding the care of my elderly Uncle. I would highly recommend Knights Court to any family looking for a home for a loved one.

Looked after by carers who appreciate that certain care needs are required - from lifting to cleaning as 24-hour care is required.

The home is tidy and rooms are good sizes. Management and staff are helpful and friendly but not sufficient to complete high dependency care.
Meals need to be more varied and suitable for residents nutrition. Overall ethos is comfortable but care staff needs regular training.

Natalie St Lewis, Care home manager at Knights Court Nursing Home responded to this review on 22 Sep 2016:

Thank you very much for your lovely review.
It is great to hear that our staff are doing a fabulous job.
We do work hard to make sure our residents and their families are happy and well looked after.
Thank you again.
Kind regards.

Staff very kind, caring and efficient. There are times when there is not one member of staff in the dementia unit lounge I believe this to be illegal.
There needs to be some kind of activities arranged to stimulate the residents rather than leaving them just to sleep all day.
