I have been visiting the care home on a regular basis since May 2021. Excellent service provided by the staff, who come across as friendly but also professional. The reception staff provide you with all the information you need when you enter and help with lateral flow testing. They also keep in touch with you to give updates. The young staff member was fantastic. Then the nurses are also excellent and at times go the extra mile to help and look after the residents. The lifestyle coordinator is someone who is an excellent communicator and makes sure everything runs smoothly. Other staff are also friendly and I find this care home to be delivering high standards in quality care. I certainly would be recommending them to my family and friends. Well done and keep up the good work.

My mother-in-law has been in the care home since March 2020 and has been very well cared for in these difficult times, and the staff are happy to respond to our requests. The help that the staff provide is much appreciated, and any concerns/queries we may have are dealt with.

Now visits are allowed, we are able to visit at weekends. The activities offered seem to be good, but are reduced as one of the entertainment staff left in January 2022 and is still to be replaced. My mother-in-law is very happy and very well looked after, and the family are happy with the care she receives.

A good friend of mine and also my family has been a resident of Knight Court Nursing Home for some time now, and throughout her stay, she has been incredibly well looked after and cared for. I visit her regularly, though not as much during the last 2-years understandably due to COVID, with it important always to know she is safe and secure. The nursing and admin staff are always friendly and attentive, keeping me well informed of how she, as well as proactively contacting me in situations where I need to make aware. I can't thank them enough, in particular, the lead lifestyle coordinator, who has been brilliant.

Overall Experience

Our experience with Knight’s Court overall has been positive. Our Mum is in the dementia unit. Some of the carers are exemplary, have been around consistently and obviously genuinely care for the residents and do their best to give them a good experience even in their confusion. We have also been very fortunate with a wonderful 1:1 for Mum.

One critique would be that sometimes things are not picked up on as quickly as we would like, for example, the need for dental attention or other medical issues.

However, management is available and communicates freely when you get in touch, also they do seem to really care.

The head of activities does a wonderful job of running interesting and therapeutic activities for the residents and her communication with them is lovely. The activities organiser is also excellent, and together they have managed the challenges of covid amazingly. We are grateful to all who have kept on working in these very difficult times even at risk to their families.

My mother entered the home 2 weeks before the first COVID lockdown in 2020 and has been very well cared for in these difficult times and all the staff are happy to respond to our requests. The help that the staff provide is much appreciated and any concerns/queries we may have are dealt with quickly with understanding and a smile (even from behind a mask).

In the absence of allowed visits, the entertainment staff have been offering regular Skype calls which have helped a lot and more recently as the regulations have been relaxed, one to one visits are now also being offered, all be it if these could be extended to cover weekends it would assist working persons like myself. The current activities offered are very good bearing in mind the current restrictions in place. The family feel very comfortable that Mum is in good hands.

Lovely staff, very caring of the residents and go above and beyond to make residents comfortable

During the Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown they tried to balance government guidelines and the need of the residents to interact with family whilst keeping the residents safe. And, although they did a good job, I feel this area could have been handled better.

I would like to recommend Knights Court provision for patient activities and the way staff have gone above and beyond keeping me and my family in touch with my husband and how they have provided entertainment and occupational therapy, including a sensory room for their patients.

A big thank you for making a very difficult time bearable.

My parents needed to move to a care home during the pandemic, not easy for anyone. The staff at Knights Court have done a magnificent job making this transition as smooth as possible, working hard to gain my parents’ trust and making them feel safe and at home. The care the nurses and care coordinators provide is fantastic, the manager is wonderful.

Knights Court Nursing Home is a pleasant and caring place. My father, now in his 90s was completely independent, and it took time for him to settle in. The staff are friendly, actively listening to him and family members to take personal preferences into consideration; so caring for him in and individual way. I would visit my father three or four times weekly to maintain family interaction; but now with the Covid-19 Pandemic, social contact is at a distance in line with government guidelines or by Skype. Unfortunately, my father does not fully understand the current restrictions, so often asks when I will come to visit him, despite repeated explanations from staff and family about the impact of the Coronavirus. Difficult as it may be, the Home Manager and staff have handled the present precautions and restrictions well to protect residents, staff and relatives. The activities team are great and work hard to occupy and engage residents, which contributes to their mental wellbeing.

My father-in-law became a resident at Knights Court Nursing Home last year as he needed care and 24 hour supervision. He is comfortable and is being well cared for. I am not able to see him as often as before because of the Coronavirus situation. However, we have conversations by SKype each week. I am pleased that we found Knights Court, where the manager and staff do everything to make residents feel at home.

My mum went into to Knights Court at the end of February. She is very well looked after and all the staff have been so lovely and caring. They have also been very understanding to us as a family and are always there if we have any worries or questions about Mum. It's also very important that Mum is happy and during lockdown, some of the staff have arranged Skype calls so we can see Mum and have a chat. On her birthday, they helped us to make it as special as it could be with social distancing. They are amazing, always keeping Mum entertained. Playing scrabble is her favourite! I would highly recommend Knights Court.

I travelled over from Ireland to visit my Uncle. It was my first time visiting him at Knights Court Nursing HOme. I was delighted with the appearance and condition of the home. Above all else, I was relieved and very happy with the care from the nurses, carers and staff. There is a deep culture of care and empathy for the residents in the home. It was humbling to see. I met with the Home Manager and Doctor and they couldn't have been more generous with their time and advice regarding the care of my elderly Uncle. I would highly recommend Knights Court to any family looking for a home for a loved one.

The home is tidy and rooms are good sizes. Management and staff are helpful and friendly but not sufficient to complete high dependency care.

Meals need to be more varied and suitable for residents nutrition. Overall ethos is comfortable but care staff needs regular training.
