I would first like to extend a warm welcome to you all, and secondly, take the opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Kathleen Liang, and I am the manager for Maryville. I have a wide range of experience with elderly, physically frail and dementia residents. Be assured that I will use my knowledge and skills to provide a supportive environment for both staff and residents, to ensure that we deliver a quality, person-centred service. Hi, my name is Allan, and I am the deputy manager here at Maryville. I am from Philippines and my journey at Maryville started 12 years ago and I’m loving every bit of it. For me life is like music, we just need to pay attention to the notes. In my job, I try to pay attention to each resident and to their needs and make sure that their voice is heard and understood. As professionals in the health care industry, we already know that our job can be very demanding, but we also know that love and gratitude that we receive back is much bigger than anything else.

I have the opportunity to practice my skills and dedication to Maryville after long years of experience as a nurse from NHS and other countries. I take pride in creating a warm and caring environment while promoting dignity and independence for those in our care. Your loved ones deserve the best and we are here to provide it, because at Maryville Care Home, we are like family.

Hi, I am Tina, and I am the Team Leader on the ground floor here at Maryville. I have been working here since 2015 at first as Health Care Assistant and 1 year ago I was given the opportunity to become a Team Leader. I love my job and when I am here, I bring with me my previous experiences and emotions because they help me to connect with residents and colleagues. I have two wonderful children and a granddaughter that fill my life with joy and happiness.
During high school and university, I played basketball and athletics and the love for sports have never left me, therefore, I encourage everyone, residents and staff to keep always active.

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Maryville. My name is Amina and I have been working at Maryville for a year now. I started as healthcare assistant and within 6 months of my work, I got the opportunity to work as team leader.
Regardless of the short time, I felt confident to express my views and use my experience for the betterment of our residents. I’m currently learning a lot and enjoying my new role. I would not have succeeded in my new role without the help and support of the Maryville team who work day and night to enhance their skills and boost our resident’s emotional and physical wellbeing.
Finally, I want to thank my team that was very patient with me during my learning phase, the best residents that we have at Maryville who are so understanding and accepting and the management’s encouragement to upgrade our skills and to aim high.

Hello, pleased to meet you. I am Wilma R. Magat. I was given an extraordinary opportunity to work as an Activity Coordinator here at Maryville Care Home. For me, life is simple, as they say, we only live once. So let each day be filled with so much love, joy and laughter to encourage everyone to choose more positive attitudes. I am very determined to discover more and make sure to give my best to make people more enthusiastic and motivated to do things. I work by heart and embrace them with so much love, as if my eyes were my family. Let’s talk and start to share more energy and do more activities.

I have been chaplain here at Maryville since 2007. My endeavours are meant to help everyone in their spiritual well-being, a vital aspect of all our lives. My approach tries to be both serious and light-hearted. By “serious” I mean highlighting matters of great importance giving meaning to our whole outlook on life and death, in the light of the Gospel of Christ. When anyone wants to talk on something that concerns them, I am a willing listener. By “light-hearted” I mean allowing plenty of time for laughter and banter which all of us need. Everyone here matters greatly, all our residents, our wonderful and devoted staff and the Sisters.
I am grateful to all for helping and inspiring me in ways that they do not know. We are all a unique type of family as we endeavour to let genuine Love motivate all we do.

Hi, my name is Erum and I work as Health Care Assistant here at Maryville Care Home. I started one year ago but I think that with my job and dedication I am already making the difference for people that struggle to do things as they used to. I try to support our residents and colleagues because I believe that if we work all together, not only Maryville but the world would be a better place.

How can I help? I am Slavka and I look after the laundry as well as part of the housekeeping here at Maryville Care Home. I have been working here for more than 20 years now and I feel very fortunate to have found a place that makes me feel happy. I like to make sure that our residents have their clothes in order as well as help them live in a clean and pleasant environment.

Hello, I am Ted, and I am the maintenance man here. I make sure that everything around the house works well so my colleagues can look after the residents in a more efficient way.
I am happy to drive the minivan when it is needed for our residents. Of course, it is much better to drive when we can go out for a coffee instead of going to the hospital but sometimes, we need that kind of things too. I have been proudly working at Maryville for more than 20 years.
