Parkfield House Nursing Home

Charville Lane West, Uxbridge UB10 0BY

Parkfield House Nursing Home is a beautiful listed building in the quiet, but easily accessible residential area of Hillingdon in West London. This elegant 40-room home has been carefully refurbished and converted into a delightful home, providing you with first-class nursing care carried out by a dedicated team.

Despite its external grandeur and original features, Parkfield House offers a homely and comfortable environment, and its gated grounds provide security and reassurance to all residents and their relatives.

Parkfield House Nursing Home has a total of 40 bedrooms, spread over three floors. Most rooms are individual, but, unusually, there is also a few double rooms, ideal for couples who both need to move into care and want to stay together. All the bedrooms have an en-suite toilet and washroom and are equipped with wifi, flat screen TV, and a nurse-call system.

Nursing and care staff are on hand 24/7, and the dedicated teams of chefs, activities, facilities, and housekeeping support them. Rooms vary in size and shape depending on where they are in the house, and each has its own character, ready for you to personalise it with your own possession, mementos and perhaps some favourite items of furniture. The rooms are well-ventilated and have controllable under-floor heating so that you can get things just right.

The spacious lounge and dining areas are comfortably furnished, equipped with TVs, games and books. There are seating areas around the building giving you the choice of joining in the social atmosphere, or finding your favourite quiet spot. You can even help to look after the hens if you want to. But if you can’t get out into the garden, staff will bring the hens to visit you in your room if you want.

Many residents like to look their best, so a dedicated hair salon provides on-site hair and beauty facilities once or twice a week.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.875 for Parkfield House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (21 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.875

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

    1. 3 = 3

    2. Target of 8.8 positive Reviews (44 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 1 Reviews ÷ 8.8 Target = 0.114

I have just moved in but the staff are not only friendly but very efficient and the food is very good and my room is to me as good, or better, than a hotel. At first I wasn't sure but this is a very good community.

My partner has been at Parkfield House for 2 years and is very happy and settled there. This is because of the human factor; the staff are friendly and cheerful and he feels at home. It is a very attractive and well run home with a welcoming and upbeat ethos. The food is well cooked and there is a varied range of activities which my partner really enjoys. Before he went to Parkfield he was a resident in three other homes, all of them part of large care home groups, but in none of them did he receive the kind of sympathetic individual attention that is the norm at Parkfield. This is without any doubt the best home we have encountered and I feel he is safe and well looked after there.
