Overall Experience

I am writing to recommend this nursing home for its exceptional care given to my dad. My dad is a current resident of this home and since he was admitted in June 2016, he has improved tremendously in terms of his mobility and his speech and this is all due to the care he receives at the nursing home. The carers work hard but they always find the time for him and the unit leaders always give me feedback when there are issues relating to my dad's care. No doubt there are some occasions where thing can go wrong but they are quick to sort them out and I am confident in their ability to do this. I am happy with the care and I would recommend this home to anyone needing care.

Overall Experience

I have been visiting my sister at this home since 2013 as she was admitted to a nursing unit at this home. I have seen such immense improvements over these years and how well the teams are working when they have good leadership. I have always been offered refreshments when I enter reception and the receptionists always greet me with a smile. When I enter the unit, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The team are always quick to respond to things going on and they are always supportive of my sister and makes her feel at home. I wouldn't have chosen a better care home.

Thank you for your comments, I would ensure that this is shared with the staff and that we continue to strive for excellent care.

Review from Michell M (Friend of Resident) published on 23 January 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The standard of care provided fell below adequate that one should expect.

Gaining access to your loved one is difficult due to security and not enough staff on duty, on one occasion stuck in the corridors for 30 minutes.

Reply from Sue Ann Balcombe, Manager at Priscilla Wakefield House

We are sorry to hear that this friend of a resident feels this way. The resident left our accommodation over 9 months ago and a lot of improvements have been made to advance the End of Life care being given to the residents here including embarking on an End of Life programme called Gold Standards...

Overall Experience

I have been visiting my relative at Priscilla Wakefield house for over 1 year now and it is such a joy to see how staff engage with my relative. They are respectful and although there's always a lot of needs to be met they work hard to ensure everyone is treated fairly. It's also refreshing to meet a new manager with such experience and skills.
