Mum came to Springfield 18 months ago after a bad fall and brain bleed in another care home. After a six-week stay in the hospital, she was moved to Springfield.
Here, she was cared for with dignity and compassion throughout her stay.
We, as a family, had peace of mind.
Mum, even through her dementia,
kept her sense of humour.

Visited my auntie yesterday for the first time in this centre, and I was impressed by the kindness, patience, respect and empathy that all staff show to the residents. The room is very clean, and my auntie is very happy with how everybody takes care of her. I would like to say a big thank you to all
staff.

We are incredibly grateful for the care and support that my grandma received at Springfield. She entered during the pandemic, which was challenging, and despite the language barrier, the staff always made sure that she was well looked after. As her condition declined, we were always kept informed, and
the staff ensured that she was comfortable.
To all the staff at Springfield, we cannot thank you enough for all your care, patience and kindness during her time in the care centre. We are forever grateful.

I could not praise this care home enough. My mum was with them for a very short period of time, around two weeks. The care, support, commitment and compassion they showed my mum, even on her difficult days when she wouldn't eat or drink, they never gave up. She looked presentable at all times, and it
felt like she was at home and comfortable within her surroundings. The staff treated her with dignity and respect and went above and beyond for our mum and us as a family in her last days, and we were all made so comfortable and supported. I would recommend this care home to anyone who is looking for a home from home care, it's clean, fresh, has such a homely feel, and the staff are fantastic and always on hand with support. Thank you for everything you did for our mum, we will never forget what you did that we couldn't as a family with someone living with dementia and health problems. All our love.

The care and support of the staff have been excellent, and Mum has been treated with dignity, care and respect. Cleanliness was satisfactory. Food and drink good. The play specialist who did the activities was excellent. Mums room could have been better; it was dark and gloomy, paint on the walls need
addressing. My other concern was that although Mum has her own clothes, she was often dressed in someone else's clothes. Overall, a good experience.

The staff and management team at Springfield nursing home are excellent. Really get to know the patient and family. Very understanding and have empathy with the stress and concern that families feel. They understand dementia and all it entails. I was extremely worried when my husband was accepted at
Springfield, but with the management and staff so helpful and kind, I have become happier and feel I can trust my husband to them. I can't thank them enough.

As an Alzheimer's patient, my husband cannot tell me anything, so it's so good to visit my husband and see he's clean and shaved and always looks content. The staff are all very nice and helpful people, also when you phone, they also ask how I am. The care home manager is also always there with a smile,
and all these things take away any concerns you may have.

When my mum was living on her own, it was very difficult for my mum and family in many ways. As a result, my mum's health deteriorated rapidly. Now my mum is so relaxed and happy and looks like she has improved significantly. This is due to the staff, who are always happy to help and give 100%. I would
defiantly recommend this place to anyone and feel confident putting my mums care in their hands. Thank you.

My wife went into Springfield at the start of Covid-19. As I see it, the staff at Springfield acted with great discipline/efficiency and compassion. As the staff had to work under a very difficult situation, but still kept up a very high standard of care. Well done, Springfield.

My Mum, passed away yesterday (mid-March), after spending a couple of months at Springfield. Sadly I could not be there as I was self-isolating, but a most wonderful nurse or carer, who got to know my mum over these few months, was there during her last few days and more importantly, her last few hours,
to help her pass peacefully.
She called me often, especially towards the end to reassure me that Mum was peaceful in a most sensitive way, which was so comforting for me.
She and her employer will know who I am talking about, and I want them to know what an amazing, understanding and caring person she is.
Springfield is an excellent nursing home. They looked after my mum very well and did everything they could to keep her happy and comfortable.
I could not imagine a better place to look after and care for our loved ones.
Thank you very much.

Following the recent passing of my mother who had been a resident for two years, I felt that I should take this opportunity to say thank you to all the staff for the care they gave to my mother. My mother is a long term resident. The care, support and understanding of my mother's clinical needs is very apparent, as there is effective communication and collaboration of the staff (at all levels) with the family. She is well cared for and her comfort, dignity and safety is always at the heart
of her encounters with staff.
There has been a significant change in the professionalism and expertise in the last two years.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.298)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.298) out of 10 for Springfield Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.485 for Springfield Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (143 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 198 Ratings = 4.485
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.813 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Springfield Care Centre is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16. 15 Positive Reviews ÷ 16 = 0.938
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
