My mother's standard of care is excellent in all ways, personal hygiene, toileting, meals, personal space (bedroom with wardrobe and bedside table as well as washbasin), comfortable armchair in the lounge and TV to watch.
She is clearly very comfortable, both physically and emotionally due to her needs
being met regularly and very quickly, if necessary by all staff.
She is sure this is her own home, which shows how settled she is and how well she is being treated. She always said she would never go into a nursing home but loved it at Willow Lodge.

I am a pastor of a local church in Cheam. Our church visits the home every Saturday afternoon to sing to them (residents) for 45 minutes.
It's been a great atmosphere visiting Willow Lodge.

Whenever we visit, my mother-in-law always looks clean and cared for.
A member of staff is always on hand in the day room to tend to the residents.
We are always made to feel welcome whichever day or time we visit.
My mother-in-law seems very happy there.

It is very sad when an elderly person has to come into a home like this but without this care, my mother would have no life and neither would I. The staff are all very attentive and caring. My mother seems to enjoy the food. Due to her illness, my mother is not very agreeable, it makes a visit difficult
but I feel she is better when I'm not there.

My mother is well looked after at Willow Lodge and our family feel safe trusting her day to day care to them. In particular, we have appreciated the effort of the staff in inviting us to summer and Christmas parties, the entertainment and refreshments. As a family, we are grateful to be able to bring
our dog in to visit my mother as it means a lot to her.

Upon walking through the front door the staff are always on hand to provide a warm welcome. They are always aware of where the resident (Grandad) is and are happy to lead us to them, and provide chairs, tea and biscuits! All staff are interactive and friendly towards us, the visitors and the residents.

I visit my wife three times a week she is registered blind with dementia and cannot walk. I am 90 and she is 88 and has been in the home now for three years. I cannot fault the care and attention given to my wife or myself when I visit she also has her own bedroom.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.083)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.083) out of 10 for Willow Lodge Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.690 for Willow Lodge Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (42 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 58 Ratings = 4.69
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.393 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willow Lodge Nursing Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.6 = 0.893
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
