Willow Lodge Nursing Home

My father has been at Willow Lodge since May 2014, so just over 4 years as I write this review. He came to Willow Lodge at the age of 82 suffering from dementia with Lewy Bodies. In the early years, I was able to take him out regularly as he was still very mobile and lucid. I visited him most days and so I knew he was content and settled. New owners took over a while back and I was worried at first as there were lots of changes but I can honestly say that the manager and her team are absolutely amazing. The staff make this place. It may not be the Ritz inside but I cannot fault the care. Unfortunately, my father's health has recently deteriorated but I am so grateful as to the way the staff treat and care for him.

She is sure this is her own home, which shows how settled she is and how well she is being treated. She always said she would never go into a nursing home but loved it at Willow Lodge.

Willow Lodge is a very friendly and caring place. My mother has settled in quite well and all the staff give the residents the care and support that they need.

It is very sad when an elderly person has to come into a home like this but without this care, my mother would have no life and neither would I. The staff are all very attentive and caring. My mother seems to enjoy the food. Due to her illness, my mother is not very agreeable, it makes a visit difficult but I feel she is better when I'm not there.

Although not what she would have asked for, mum seems very happy and content at Willow Lodge. The staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive.

My mother is well looked after at Willow Lodge and our family feel safe trusting her day to day care to them. In particular, we have appreciated the effort of the staff in inviting us to summer and Christmas parties, the entertainment and refreshments. As a family, we are grateful to be able to bring our dog in to visit my mother as it means a lot to her.

Upon walking through the front door the staff are always on hand to provide a warm welcome. They are always aware of where the resident (Grandad) is and are happy to lead us to them, and provide chairs, tea and biscuits! All staff are interactive and friendly towards us, the visitors and the residents.

I visit my wife three times a week she is registered blind with dementia and cannot walk. I am 90 and she is 88 and has been in the home now for three years. I cannot fault the care and attention given to my wife or myself when I visit she also has her own bedroom.
