My mother was a resident undertaking rehabilitation after a broken leg. She is elderly and frail but I can tell from her condition, from my daily visits and meeting the staff that she has been looked after very well. In particular, the staff are exceptionally friendly and professional and appear highly motivated. Minor improvements would be TV's in rooms and better Wi-Fi.

Very caring and dedicated staff who have looked after my father in law for the last 2 and a half years. He has been very well looked after, loves the food and is always clean and tidy. The home has done a great job under incredibly difficult circumstances due to the pandemic.

We couldn't have chosen a better care facility. Staff were very caring towards my husband and family members, especially in his last few days. Woodland Hall felt like a family and looked after us all for the last 2 1/2 years. We would thoroughly recommend the high standards of Woodland Hall to anyone seeking a safe haven for their loved one.

My grandad always maintained living independently was of paramount importance in his later life. Unfortunately, due to a number of health issues and many hospital admissions, his level of care was so high that he needed two people to assist him on a daily basis. The transition from independence to reliance on others was so rapid that it requires a very gentle process. Woodland Hall was keen to treat him as an individual and learn as much about him as they could to ensure they safeguarded his mental health as well as physical. They interacted with him with kindness and humility, maintaining his dignity, even during a difficult time of covid-19, they also included all of the family in every decision and made to feel as though we were in control of his journey with them. During Covid, they found innovative ways to keep us in touch for much needed virtual contact. My grandad sadly passed on 19.06.20, and the home dealt with everything and everyone with love, care and diligence, they were compassionate, and this was crucial to us all in these last few days; thank you.

I would like to say how much I appreciate everyone's help at Woodland Hall in looking after my stepmother in her final months. The home was so welcoming when my stepmother was admitted and the staff were simply fantastic. They had so much patience as my stepmother wasn't the easiest of patients at times. The facilities are excellent and the bedrooms are light and airy. My family and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the home, you made a very difficult time easier to cope with.

My mother spent two and a half years at Woodland Hall before she sadly passed away this month. She thoroughly enjoyed living at Woodland Hall, was well cared for and treated with dignity at all times. During my mothers last few weeks, the staff were extremely supportive of my mother and the family.

They even bought another resident out to say goodbye to her on the day of the funeral.

Extremely positive. Staff very kind, very professional, available at all times. Mobilised my mother after her surgery. Gave her care, confidence, comfort when she most needed it. We will definitely recommend Woodland Hall to other people. Caring for the relatives as well and we also found it to be a lovely, approachable, clean environment.

My mother was admitted to Woodland Hall under NHS Continuing Care following discharge from hospital. The home were very accommodating to her needs and were happy for us to bring personal items, including her recliner chair, making her feel at home. We found all the staff to be very kind and understanding and nothing was too much trouble. We visited frequently because there was no restriction on times for visiting. During these visits, we were always made welcome by all the carers and nurses and treated with respect. The staff would respond to any requests and were always forthcoming with a lovely cup of tea or coffee. We would have no problem in recommending this home for a loved one.

My mother, 92 years, is a difficult woman, highly independent. She was here for 6 weeks of rehab after breaking her arm. The first day she was shouting and screaming she didn't want to be here. That was only for the first afternoon. She calmed down thanks to the wonderful skill set of all the staff. She is so sorry to be leaving. She wants to stay! This is an incredible place. Highly recommend it.

I found my one week experience at Woodland Hall beyond words. Comfortable and luxurious in a newly refurbished room that was beautifully planned. The staff were worth their weight in gold- all of them. They were always cheerful and offering help. A very polite, respectful bunch of individuals - beautiful people. I could not be more happy with my treatment in Woodland Hall. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

I cannot recommend highly enough the Woodland home. My mother went there in need of rehabilitation following two long spells in hospital and from day one the staff were incredibly supportive, thoughtful and caring. They helped to get my mum walking again with confidence and gave her, her self-belief and dignity back. Thank you to everyone at Woodland for the first class care, love and support.

Dad was very happy during his time. Rooms are good. Staff friendly and food OK, although perhaps a bit spicy for an old man's (92) taste! The only downside was his discharge which was a shambles. We were told it was booked for 1.30pm. By 2.15 we asked, no information. Then transpired the home had only phoned at 2.20 and no ambulance suitable. We were told a car was coming but very little info (from where, or by when) so at 3.30 we left in our own car. Two hours late and still no transport. A bad end to a good experience.

I visited my friend almost daily at Woodland Hall for around 5 months. His room was always clean and neat. A lady cleaned his bathroom every day. My friend wore clean, new clothes every day. He was always clean and shaved. His hair was cut and his feet were looked after. He liked all the food and drink and whenever he needed something he was given it. The staff were very polite, friendly and kind towards my friend and myself. He was treated with dignity.

The staff in the rehab unit go the extra mile and are very caring. There is flexibility over meals (they will make toast for instance if the patient fancies it). There is no pressure put on the patient, but they are encouraged to help themselves get better. Relatives and friends are made very welcome. At the sign of any problems, the nursing staff are quick to act.

Meet the Team (1)

Andreea Zara
Andreea ZaraJob Title:Home Manager

For me, the most important aspect of my role as home manager is making sure every resident feels safe, valued and truly at home. I believe that care should be centred around each individual and designed to support their dignity, independence, happiness and wellbeing. Building trust is at the heart of what we do. It is important that families also feel reassured and confident that their loved ones are cared for with compassion and respect.

Before becoming a home manager, I was a regional business manager, also for Care UK and I have previously studied finance-related courses. I am currently completing a nursing qualification. I was particularly drawn to Care UK because it is an organisation that is committed to supporting colleagues and residents. Positivity and teamwork are the culture, and everyone is valued.

To be a successful home manager, you need to be compassionate, patient and genuinely caring. You also have to be committed to residents’ well-being and quality of life. Good communication and listening skills are also essential to building trusting relationships, not just with residents, but with their families and with colleagues. A home manager should also be approachable, well organised and be able to lead by example, creating a positive and supportive environment.

The best part of the day for me is spending time with residents and seeing them happy, comfortable and engaged with daily life. Whether it’s having a conversation, seeing residents enjoy activities, or hearing positive feedback from families, those moments are the most rewarding because they remind me why I do this.

Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, travel, reading and swimming.
