Lakeside Watermead Care Home

The care and management of the staff has been excellent, ensuring a very high standard of care. Over my time here as a volunteer, I have been able to witness how well the care home is maintained, and how residents are treated with respect and that their needs are always met.

My mum was initially in Lakeside for respite but decided she wanted to stay. The overall atmosphere in lakeside is very friendly and homely. Staff and management are excellent. I'm so impressed that I've advised my family that if I need to go into a care home it needs to be lakeside. Myself and my siblings feel confident that our mum is cared for and happy .

My wife has been here since July and shes come on so far from when she went into this care home. And it is a care home, the staff are great, cheerful and always friendly and all they do is care for the people there. Very happy my wife is there

Came To the event on Saturday 6th Sept which was organised by Tracy. From the moment we arrived we were Very well Looked after, drinks food and entertainment via a wonderful Singer. The room was decorated with bunting, balloons on the front door, it was a wonderful atmosphere. The residents had a great time singing, dancing and it all ended to quickly. All the staff were amazing with the residents. Thank you all for a wonderful afternoon and well done Tracy for all the effort you put in to arranging.

My experience at the carehome has been nothing but positive. I feel that the activities here are great for both residents and staff as it is uplifting. I spent time with the residents, and within that period of time I could see how well they are cared for. Overall, I think that the team here are lovely and I would highly reccomend this carehome

The staff are friendly and welcoming, greeting us when we arrive and offering help. The staff on reception are cheerful and remember us. The staff interact with residents, chatting and responding to them. The lounge is pleasant and the atmosphere calm. The residents we visit are clean and kept comfortable.

Great staff lovely food nice and clean great setting and veiws out of all the care homes i am glad i got this one i am only on restpite i have been here 2 months with one left really enjoyed the activities didnt think they woyld be for me but have enjoyed them all definatly going to miss everything this home has given me ie staff the care the food i will be popping in regulary to say hello when i sadly have to go home

A very caring and professional care home who is looking after my partner. A difficult job as residents have many different complex needs. Staff have always been attentive and supportive with myself as well as my partner. Very happy for him to be there

I came here just over a month ago, having lost of confidence in my body, and was fearful of the future. The staff here gave me back my confidence by listening to my carers and concerns and always providing me with what I need. This applies to the whole team! I am given nice food at set times, and the staff adjust my meals in relation to how I'm feeling (I am undergoing chemotherapy). It is great to have 24 hour nursing care who work as a team helping me to regain confidence.

I was very impressed with the lady who was doing activities. She spent the whole afternoon playing bingo, and afterwards stayed chatting to the residents.

I am always welcome and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Due to family being in hospital or overseas, we arranged for my father to stay at Lakeside for a weeks respite. However, he so much enjoyed the view from his bedroom window, the kindness and manner of the staff that he requested to stay on for a further week, What is more he has now booked in for a further fortnight in September.

All staff and doctors are reactive, caring and responsive to the concerns a family might have about the welfare of their loved one and, as in our case, the compassion that was shown to both my husband his daughter and myself in his last few days was exemplary

Lakeside management and Directors have demonstrated their commitment to mum's best interests in the transition from mum being able to pay her own fees to her being a depleted funder who required local authority funding. It was the Lakeside management and directors who supported me in delivering mum's ability to stay in the place she calls home. Thankyou.

Overall, great staff, too much food. Improvements are ongoing and noticeable. I would and will recommend in future.

Excellent care home. Have taken care of my 95-year-old mother, a victim of stroke, very well indeed. Recently my mother suffered some considerable pain and the staff treated her very carefully and compassionately.

Mom was received into Lakeside Care Home on the 8th of December 2023 and given a very nice room overlooking the lake. She sadly passed away on the 31st of December. In the short time that Mom resided at Lakeside, she was trusted with kindness, respect and attention to detail. As her daughter, it was very reassuring to know that Mom was being properly looked after. My husband and I were particularly struck by the home's friendly atmosphere and the staff's caring attitude. In conclusion, we trust that Lakeside Care Home's high standards will be maintained under its new ownership.

Wonderful long-term staff here. Thoughtful and patient with their care services. Mum was here almost 4 years, 95 to 99 years of age and she blossomed in the care and attention given. Homely atmosphere in beautiful location. So pleased we chose this facility for Mum's last few years.

The staff and management have been magnificent during that time, especially during the last few months when she was bedbound. She developed strong bonds with many members of staff. The family were always confident she was safe, warm, very well-fed and comfortable.
