We are so...
A very caring and professional care home who is looking after my partner. A difficult job as residents have many different complex needs. Staff have always been attentive and supportive with myself as well as my partner. Very happy for him to be there
We understand the challenges involved in caring for individuals with complex needs, and our team is committed to...
I came here just over a month ago, having lost of confidence in my body, and was fearful of the future. The staff here gave me back my confidence by listening to my carers and concerns and always providing me with what I need. This applies to the whole team! I am given nice food at set times, and the staff adjust my meals in relation to how I'm feeling (I am undergoing chemotherapy). It is great to have 24 hour nursing care who work as a team helping me to regain confidence.
It means a great deal to know that you feel listened to and...
I was very impressed with the lady who was doing activities. She spent the whole afternoon playing bingo, and afterwards stayed chatting to the residents.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the activities and appreciated the time our activities coordinator spent with the residents. We're proud of our team's dedication to making each day engaging and meaningful for everyone at Lakeside at Watermead Care Home.
She is wheelchair bound but there are carers who will move her around when required. She likes to be with others in the lounge although not often able to participate. Sometimes she is in her room but doesn't know why (short term memory very bad).
Sometimes she is also in bed but doesn't know why but it doesn't bother her.
I am always welcome and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We are pleased to hear that your friend is receiving the care and support she needs, and that you feel welcome and well looked after during your visits. Your comments are greatly appreciated and will be shared with our team, who take pride in providing a warm and supportive environment for all our residents and their visitors.
Due to family being in hospital or overseas, we arranged for my father to stay at Lakeside for a weeks respite. However, he so much enjoyed the view from his bedroom window, the kindness and manner of the staff that he requested to stay on for a further week, What is more he has now booked in for a further fortnight in September.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're glad your father felt comfortable and cared for at Lakeside, and that he enjoyed the beautiful views and the kindness of our team. His eagerness to return means a lot to us!
It is a very difficult decision for a family to make, but as soon as my Step Daughter viewed the home, she knew that this was the one for her father.
His room overlooked the lake which was very comforting for him as he loved nature and wildlife and made his time there all the more special and something that we will cherish.
The staff are extremely friendly and supportive, encouraging all the residents to participate in the many and varied activities that are organised for them.
The home is maintained to a very high standard and the quality of the meals and beautiful cakes are exceptional.
All staff and doctors are reactive, caring and responsive to the concerns a family might have about the welfare of their loved one and, as in our case, the compassion that was shown to both my husband his daughter and myself in his last few days was exemplary
Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt experience. We are deeply sorry for your loss, and truly appreciate your kind words about Lakeside Watermead Care Home and our team. It means a great deal to know that your husband found comfort surrounded by nature, and that you and your family felt...
It sounds trite or that I'm taking for granted the care and consideration mum has received at Lakeside. But it's rather that I've never had cause to be concerned at mum's care.
Mum is respected as an independent thinker. Her views are sought and acted upon. The care, which now includes FNC, is organised and delivered diligently, by highly trained and motivated staff. Mum's care plan is rigorously reviewed and maintained. Where there are questions, they are addressed.
Lakeside management and Directors have demonstrated their commitment to mum's best interests in the transition from mum being able to pay her own fees to her being a depleted funder who required local authority funding. It was the Lakeside management and directors who supported me in delivering mum's ability to stay in the place she calls home. Thankyou.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a great deal to us to know that your Mum feels respected and supported, and that her care has been delivered with diligence and compassion. We are also grateful for your recognition of the team's efforts and the commitment shown by management to ensure your Mum could remain in our care. Your appreciation is deeply valued.
Overall, great staff, too much food. Improvements are ongoing and noticeable. I would and will recommend in future.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your mum's care at Lakeside Watermead Care Home. We're thrilled to hear that you were generally pleased with the care provided by our staff, as their dedication and compassion are at the heart of what we do.We genuinely appreciate your...
Excellent care home. Have taken care of my 95-year-old mother, a victim of stroke, very well indeed. Recently my mother suffered some considerable pain and the staff treated her very carefully and compassionately.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience of Lakeside Watermead Care Home. We are glad to hear that your 95-year-old mother has been well taken care of and that our staff provided compassionate treatment during a difficult time. We appreciate your feedback and five-star ratings and assure you we are here to support all of our residents in any way we can.
Mom was received into Lakeside Care Home on the 8th of December 2023 and given a very nice room overlooking the lake. She sadly passed away on the 31st of December. In the short time that Mom resided at Lakeside, she was trusted with kindness, respect and attention to detail. As her daughter, it was very reassuring to know that Mom was being properly looked after. My husband and I were particularly struck by the home's friendly atmosphere and the staff's caring attitude. In conclusion, we trust that Lakeside Care Home's high standards will be maintained under its new ownership.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review of Lakeside at Watermead Care Home. Please be assured we remain committed to the same highest standards of care, kindness, respect, friendly atmosphere and attention to detail that your mother received during her stay. We are so...
Wonderful long-term staff here. Thoughtful and patient with their care services. Mum was here almost 4 years, 95 to 99 years of age and she blossomed in the care and attention given. Homely atmosphere in beautiful location. So pleased we chose this facility for Mum's last few years.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are thrilled to hear that your mum received wonderful care and attention and blossomed during her time with us here at Lakeside at Watermead Care Home. We strive to create a homely atmosphere for all our residents and are glad we were able to make a positive difference in her life.
The staff and management have been magnificent during that time, especially during the last few months when she was bedbound. She developed strong bonds with many members of staff. The family were always confident she was safe, warm, very well-fed and comfortable.
We thank you most sincerely for taking the time to post such a glowing review of your experience at Lakeside Watermead Care Home. It was our great privilege to care for your mother and pass on our sincere condolences to you and the family at this sad time.
The staff at Lakeside have been amazing. The care and support given is exemplary! Staff welcomed Mum on her arrival and gave her respect throughout her stay. Mum sadly passed earlier this week and they were there to comfort her in her last hours. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of Lakeside at Watermead Care Home at this sad time. Please accept our sincere condolences. It is lovely to read that our care, support and staff have all been exemplary in the care of your mother and that she was comforted in her last hours. Take good care of yourself.
The manager and assistant manager plus the carers for my mum were very helpful, easy to approach and nothing was ever too much trouble for them to help my mum. A great team of carers on floor two at Lakeside.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your great experience with us. We are delighted to hear that the manager, assistant manager, and carers provided exceptional care for your mum. We will make sure to pass on your kind words to all the team. Your feedback means a lot to us. Thank you again for choosing Lakeside at Watermead Care Home.
They do lots of activities which he enjoys, particularly the Quiz.
They have regular entertainment which he enjoys.
The food is always good.
We very much appreciate your lovely review of Lakeside at Watermead Care Home. It is a privilege for us to provide care for your Dad, as well as all of our residents and we are thrilled to hear your kind words. Your feedback means a lot to us, thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience.
Absolutely agree with all that the previous reviewer said - such kindness, compassion, professionalism and with great humour too within a beautiful setting - to borrow my mum’s phrase “Look at my view”. Mum settled in straight away and spent the last 9 months of her life here (Dad had previously been in for respite). They cared for her brilliantly - and us too - becoming part of her family. Mum wasn’t straightforward as she had various medical problems including type 1 diabetes. We are so very grateful. Thank you, to the manager and all your amazing staff! We do miss visiting.
Your mum was just lovely and we were so pleased to be able to work closely with such a caring and compassionate family. Thank you for such a wonderful review. It means a great deal to be able to tell our staff how much they are appreciated.
My father arrived at Lakeside Care Home in early January and very quickly settled in thanks to all the staff at Lakeside. Enjoying meals in the dining room with other residents and a few of the activities! Unfortunately, my father's health deteriorated and had to spend a lot of time in his room! The staff treated my father with kindness, dignity, compassion and care. Lakeside Care home is set on the edge of a beautiful lake with an abundance of wildlife to view from the gardens or balcony. The food choices are varied and tasty and the interior is clean and tastefully decorated! All of the staff are supportive caring and professional but also interact with the residents in a fun and friendly way.
It was a real pleasure to look after your father, he was a lovely gentleman and it was sad that he was only here for such a short while. I will be sure to pass this on to the staff who cared for him and thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review.
It is such a relief that Mum has settled into Lakeside Care Centre so well. After 70 years of being in her own home, she had to face the prospect of leaving quite suddenly. Naturally, this was a very emotional time. However, the carers and staff at Lakeside have been wonderful. She is treated with care and dignity at all times. Mum has a lovely room overlooking the lake and being an early riser, she is still able to watch the sun come up which she always did at home. Nature and wildlife are important to her, so watching all the activity on the lake gives her joy. She enjoys the food and partakes in some of the activities even though she is a quiet person. Thank you to everyone at Lakeside for making this difficult journey so much easier for Mum.
We really do understand how difficult coming in to a care home is and it is lovely to know that your mum is getting so much pleasure from her view and that this has helped her to settle in so well. Thank you also for the kind comments about the staff, we certainly do have a great team here.
The home is in a beautiful setting, and the staff could not be more caring and courteous, from the cleaning staff up to the managers, all of them have worked hard in difficult situations to make my mother welcome and as at home as possible. The whole building is always clean and smells lovely, with a smiling receptionist to greet you.
I would not hesitate to recommend Lakeside to anyone considering a Care Home.
Thank you Tina for this lovely review. Your mother is such a sweet and gentle person she is a delight to care for and it is a real pleasure to work with such a supportive family.

Meet the Team (7)

I've been the Care Manager at Lakeside at watermead care home since February 2025. I feel very lucky to have worked in health care for most of my adult life. Most of my career has been in the areas of mental health, learning disability, behaviour therapy, neurological care and rehabilitation as a Registered Nurse, before progressing to healthcare management. I have over 10 years’ experience within the care home sector, which for me has been the most rewarding of the healthcare specialities I have worked in.
I am passionate about enriching the lives of every resident we care for, and I know that at Lakeside at Watermead we deliver high quality care and experiences for our residents. My vision for Lakeside at Watermead Care Home includes constantly striving for the highest quality care possible, delivering activities to support good physical and mental health, serving nutritious and delicious food, creating a sociable community, and responding to every resident's individual needs and preferences, within a safe, homely environment.

I’m passionate about my job role and take great pride in supporting not only our residents but also the families and my colleges. Recently, I’ve transitioned into an administrative position, where I strive to apply the knowledge and skills, I’ve acquired over the years to deliver great care and support.

Started as Housekeeping 18 years ago and became head of housekeeping. Recently moved to General maintenance role.

My Name in Tracey, I have worked at Lakeside for nearly 27 years. Started as a Team leader in the home and did that for 18 years which I absolutely loved. During that time I support various departments within the home.
