My mother moved into The Lawns Care Home in January 2024. She was made to feel very welcome immediately and is very happy there. The care is excellent and the staff are all so friendly, professional and kind. She really enjoys all the daily activities which are very varied and inclusive. We know she is happy and in safe hands.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is so nice to hear that your mother feels safe, fulfilled and happy at The Lawns. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
Our mum 94 went into The Lawns, grateful to be in a BUPA facility. She is full mind, yet bedridden. The experience was difficult. Mum was in an end room on the 1st floor, staff only came to facilitate her being alive. They fed, watered, changed her. Communication was at times difficult, some days she saw and spoke to no one. Food was delivered cold to her room. I went in daily and witnessed this, as did other family members. Told frequently she is old and dying, and we saw her weight and mental health were faltering, she had fear. May 23 we had to get her out of The Lawns or lose her. Since then, I have communicated upset with The Lawns. I have photos and evidence to back my words. I have been told a full investigation has been done and things have changed. I trust this is the case, as no vulnerable person old or young should have anything other than care and respect and be given the quality of life they deserve. Mum is now 96, in a caring home, essentially healthy, just old but happy. Please be vigilant.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. Our residents health and wellbeing is an absolute priority so we will discuss your feedback with the home manager to help them continually improve their services.
All the staff are friendly and caring. The atmosphere is friendly and activities are varied and enjoyable. The home is kept clean and tidy and very comfortable. The food is wonderful and a different menu for every day.
Thank you for your feedback. It is always nice to hear words like friendly and caring being used to describe the help our staff provide. Thank you for choosing The Lawns Care Home.
I had an excellent recovery stay at The Lawns, a three-week stay in total following hip surgery carried out by an 'ACE' surgeon. Met some really nice people, and all the staff were very pleasant just amazing, more to add the tick boxes say it all.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear that you had a pleasant short-term stay at The Lawns and that you met some lovely people. It is always nice to hear from people feeling like they are cared for and looked after. Thank you for choosing The Lawns for your stay.
In actual fact, the resident is my ex-husband but that wasn't on the list. Each time I visit with my daughter, I am struck anew by the quality of the care at this home, and last Friday's visit was no exception. The Lawns stands out as being outstanding. The entrance is bright and welcoming, everywhere is spotless, and there is always a friendly face to welcome and answer any queries, and the manager is always available. Each visit I find myself saying, 'This is like a courteous 5-star hotel. I'd like to live here if the time comes when I can't cope alone.' My ex-husband is treated with such professional, expert care which is always carried out with warmth and friendliness. There are activities for him to join in and they are varied to suit all inclinations. The food is excellent, freshly cooked and attractively presented.
I cannot praise this home and staff enough. Thank you for all that you do to make one elderly man very happy and content.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time. We are looking forward to see you again.
My father has been a resident for over 5 years. He is extremely well looked after and he is so happy. I do not have to worry about him. The nurses and carers are very attentive and he has not been in hospital since residing at The Lawns. He has made new friends and enjoys chatting to carers and residents. It is clean and well presented. The care staff and nurses are amazing. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Dad has been taken out of the home for trips which has been able to give him a new lease of life and I am so grateful.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Father in our care and we are pleased to hear that he has made friends. We are happy to hear you and your Father feel like a part of our The Lawns family. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
My mum has been a resident of The Lawns now for 18 months. She went in initially for 2 weeks of respite care and made it quite clear before going in that it was just a short stay! However, after returning home for just 1 week she told us she wanted to go back. Every single carer and nurse I have ever met on my visits has been kind, caring and professional. Mum loves it there, she hasn't been so happy in years. She feels safe and secure and has so many friends to have meals with and do activities that she loves and loves her carers who genuinely take an interest in her and spend time with her. It is hard to see a parent leave their home and go into care but the carers at The Lawns have made this transition for Mum so much easier. Thanks to you all. You seriously all deserve high praise.
Thank you for your kind words. We are so pleased to hear you can feel so at ease with your mum in our home, especially knowing she is so much happier and feels so well looked after by all of our staff. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care and we will certainly pass your comments on to the manager.
As far as I am aware all calls to nursing staff have been answered within the 8 minutes response time aimed for by the care home.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your dad in our care and we hope The Lawns care home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
They helped her improve her mobility which has helped her be more independent. A big thank you from my mum and from me, I can relax knowing she is safe and well cared for.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so happy to hear you can feel at ease knowing your mum is in our care. We hope to continue providing your loved one with such excellent care.
Although I have limited experience of care homes I'm sure everyone would want to have the very best and friendliest care for the resident. The staff at the Lawns are so very nice to deal with and I, personally, always feel welcome to visit, and my relative that I visit always seems content, warm, well-fed, healthy and happy. Financially, there have been a few hiccups but these have been sorted pretty swiftly. A welcoming atmosphere with professional staff is key to keeping residents and their loved ones happy and I believe that anyone would be hard-pushed to better the care at The Lawns.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope The Lawns care home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
I have been in The Lawns for nearly 4 weeks, recovering after admission to hospital with pneumonia. My husband, who needs care too, has been with me. We have been comfortable here. Our double room on the ground floor has patio doors to a lovely garden. The standard of cleanliness is good and the food excellent, although we find the time of the evening meal too early for us at about 5pm, having had a full lunch around 1pm. All the care staff are helpful, caring, respectful, cheerful and nothing is too much trouble, in spite of them always being busy. As a retired graduate nurse, I often have the impression they are under pressure - i.e. too much work for too few staff. The registered nurses on each shift are professional and helpful but we usually only see them when they administer drugs. However, they do respond to requests for help in a timely manner. All in all, we have been very well cared for which has aided my recovery and will enable us to return home in a few days time.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It is nice to hear that you and your husband are comfortable in our care home and enjoy our food. It is nice to hear words such as ''Caring'' and ''Cheerful'' to describe our staff. Thank you for choosing The Lawns for your stay.
Since January 2022, when my mum was admitted to The Lawns Care Home, we have been treated very well. From the managers to the cleaners, everyone is very friendly and obliging. The staff are caring, considerate and respectful to residents and family/friends alike. Any issues that arise are efficiently and competently dealt with. I am very impressed with the communications made by the home relating to medical/welfare issues. Overall, we are very satisfied with the service given.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, It is nice to hear words such as ''Caring'' and ''Considerate'' to describe our staff and that you feel your mum has been treated well in our home and that you feel any issues that arise are dealt with efficiently. Thank you for choosing The Lawns to care for your mum.
I receive excellent care from The Lawns. I have a patio room and easy access to the garden. I love sitting outside with my grandchildren and I love pets and would like to sit with them. The food is excellent.

No words can express - wonderful care.
We really appreciate your feedback, thank you for writing a review.
I am extremely grateful to all the staff at The Lawns for making my period of rehab (I was there for about 5 weeks) a truly lovely experience. I leave with very fond memories. I would add that the home was very caring and professional from the point at which I first made contact, “supervising" my admission to the hospital for necessary preliminary investigations prior to my going into the home, and following up with the prescribed treatment, in liaison with external medical professionals, in an extremely thorough and dedicated way.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is lovely to hear words like caring and professional to describe our staff. We are happy to hear that you had such a lovely experience and have such fond memories. Thank you for choosing The Lawns for your stay.
When I have a date for my dad's surgery, I will contact the home again. I phoned around several homes, and The Lawns would be the only one I would choose.
Thank you for your kind words. We are looking forward to hearing from you again. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you or your family.
We devised a checklist of things to be considered in making our choice, one of them was "would we be content to live there ourselves", if we were content to live there that home then became a possibility. We visited a considerable number of care homes in our search. Some of them we looked at were dire, unclean dining rooms, lounges full of bored people watching television.
We eventually whittled the list down to three care homes, the choice being left to my father as to which one he preferred.
We took my father to all three and he decided that the Lawns was the most suitable.
My father took up residence in Sept 2017 and he is very happy there. The staff are attentive and attend to his needs.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely comments.
I have found The Lawns to be a lovely place for my father.
