Nestled in a quiet residential spot not far from the centre of Chelmsford, the home welcomes anyone in need of nursing, residential, convalescence, respite and palliative care. They also offer support for those living with a physical disability.

They’re here when you and your loved ones need them most. For planned respite or last-minute trips. A safe space to recover after an operation. To experience what the home’s like before moving long-term. To just relax. Whatever the reason, their doors are open. Advanced bookings available.

The home offers bright and homely interiors with ensuite bedrooms. Large landscaped gardens, a bright sun loggia and a furnished patio area that provide the ideal setting to relax. Equipped with a 24-hour call system, the highly trained staff and experienced staff are always on hand to provide professional care and support.

Residents can enjoy views of the garden during mealtimes in the dining room. The chef manager ensures that all residents’ nutritional needs are met with appetising meals created by the home’s dedicated chef.

Although I have limited experience of care homes I'm sure everyone would want to have the very best and friendliest care for the resident. The staff at the Lawns are so very nice to deal with and I, personally, always feel welcome to visit, and my relative that I visit always seems content, warm, well-fed,
healthy and happy. Financially, there have been a few hiccups but these have been sorted pretty swiftly. A welcoming atmosphere with professional staff is key to keeping residents and their loved ones happy and I believe that anyone would be hard-pushed to better the care at The Lawns.

I have been in The Lawns for nearly 4 weeks, recovering after admission to hospital with pneumonia. My husband, who needs care too, has been with me. We have been comfortable here. Our double room on the ground floor has patio doors to a lovely garden. The standard of cleanliness is good and the food
excellent, although we find the time of the evening meal too early for us at about 5pm, having had a full lunch around 1pm. All the care staff are helpful, caring, respectful, cheerful and nothing is too much trouble, in spite of them always being busy. As a retired graduate nurse, I often have the impression they are under pressure - i.e. too much work for too few staff. The registered nurses on each shift are professional and helpful but we usually only see them when they administer drugs. However, they do respond to requests for help in a timely manner. All in all, we have been very well cared for which has aided my recovery and will enable us to return home in a few days time.

Since January 2022, when my mum was admitted to The Lawns Care Home, we have been treated very well. From the managers to the cleaners, everyone is very friendly and obliging. The staff are caring, considerate and respectful to residents and family/friends alike. Any issues that arise are efficiently
and competently dealt with. I am very impressed with the communications made by the home relating to medical/welfare issues. Overall, we are very satisfied with the service given.

I receive excellent care from The Lawns. I have a patio room and easy access to the garden. I love sitting outside with my grandchildren and I love pets and would like to sit with them. The food is excellent.

I am extremely grateful to all the staff at The Lawns for making my period of rehab (I was there for about 5 weeks) a truly lovely experience. I leave with very fond memories. I would add that the home was very caring and professional from the point at which I first made contact, “supervising" my admission
to the hospital for necessary preliminary investigations prior to my going into the home, and following up with the prescribed treatment, in liaison with external medical professionals, in an extremely thorough and dedicated way.

I was recommended to the home by a friend who's father was a resident at the home. She said her dad was so happy there, his extended family. I recently found myself looking for respite care for my dad. I telephoned the home to make enquiries, the nurse who answered was so friendly and warm. She was
very helpful and listened to all my questions offering a virtual tour of the home.
When I have a date for my dad's surgery, I will contact the home again. I phoned around several homes, and The Lawns would be the only one I would choose.

When my father accepted that the time had come for him to consider residing in a care home, it caused a slight problem for the family. We obtained details of all details of care homes in the vicinity from the internet with a view of visiting each one and carrying out an assessment.
We devised a checklist
of things to be considered in making our choice, one of them was "would we be content to live there ourselves", if we were content to live there that home then became a possibility. We visited a considerable number of care homes in our search. Some of them we looked at were dire, unclean dining rooms, lounges full of bored people watching television.
We eventually whittled the list down to three care homes, the choice being left to my father as to which one he preferred.
We took my father to all three and he decided that the Lawns was the most suitable.
My father took up residence in Sept 2017 and he is very happy there. The staff are attentive and attend to his needs.

Generally, I find The Lawns to be a good care home as listed below. There are no major concerns to me in the care of my mother. My only criticism is that when needing some more in-depth information about my mother's condition from the nursing staff, they are often busy and away from the station and
sometimes I feel they are rushed when talking to me.

Your staff are an asset to your company. We felt that our mum was being looked after by caring individuals. We also noted that staff were happy in their work which must be a reflection of good management and team leaders. We felt welcomed and very supported with Mum's care and we have no hesitation
in recommending The Lawns to others. We shall actually miss our visits to The Lawns and our meals.

The Lawns is a lovely environment where activities are laid on most days to engage the residents.
There is good communication with the families to keep us abreast of their well being. With a good quality of food. Also, personal pride is maintained with cleanliness and hairdressing facilities.

My friend left another care home due to lack of care. I moved him to The Lawns and within 2 weeks he had improved with the care given to him.
The staff are very caring and have carried out all requests I made before his arrival at the home.
I would recommend this home to all.
