Dad came to St George's for end-of-life care from hospital. We found the staff to be informative on entry and were shown around the homes facilities etc. They were compassionate and professional throughout dad's two weeks there and as a family, we could not have asked for more. All the staff from the back of house to front line, made my family feel safe, as well as offering us comfort and care as needed at the difficult time, especially when dad passed. The home was comfortable, clean and well managed, and the staff went the extra mile to make sure dad was treated with dignity. I cannot fault them in any way and with such a difficult job, they were all amazing.
Thank you for your very kind words that I will share with all the staff. It was a very short stay for dad but I felt we were so very fortunate to have met you all. Best wishes to the family
Mum entered St George's for end-of-life care. We found the staff to be informative on entry and compassionate and professional throughout mum's short stay. All the staff made my sister and I feel safe, as well as offering us comfort and care as needed at the difficult time, especially when mum passed away. The home was comfortable, clean and well managed, and the staff went the extra mile to make sure mum was treated with dignity.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us at St George's. We are very grateful for the kind words and I will be sure to share with the whole team
My wife was admitted to St George's for end of life support. Sadly she was only in the home for a short time, but during this time she care and treatment were excellent. Staff were friendly and considerate at all times providing the necessary support for both my wife and all of us.
Thank you deeply for your kind words and I will share with our staff team. This means a lot to everyone involved in your support and that of your wife and although it was only a short time, it was a pleasure to have met you all.
My mother was placed at St George's Nursing Home for end of life support. From the moment we arrived we could not fault the way Mum was treated. She didn't want to be there but within days they had won her over. The care they gave her was unbelievable. Every member of the staff from the manager, Sally to the catering tea were so kind, caring and supportive. The support I received as well was wonderful. I could not of wanted more for my Mum at the end of her life - thank you there are no words to express my gratitude.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means so much to us when we receive feedback such as yours and confirms to us that we are making the grade in terms of high quality care. We are so grateful to our hardworking, loyal and caring team at St Georges.
My wife was placed in St George's Nursing Home spent her last 6 weeks there, and the from top to bottom staff loved and cared for 24/7 with wonderful, wonderful care until she passed away on 2nd October. The staff helped me and my family to come to terms with our loss. Can't thank them enough.
Thank you for your words that are so much appreciated by all our staff. We are comforted to know that we have helped at such a sad time for you and your family. Please come and see us when passing and join us for a coffee.
On behalf of my two brothers and our families, we want to say how deeply grateful we are for the love, care, and support provided by every member of your team who looked after our mother. The compassion and professionalism shown were truly above and beyond-absolutely brilliant. Each and every one of them is a real superstar.
Thank you for your lovely words of gratitude which I will share with the team. It means so much to everyone to receive such sentiment.
The whole team at St George's were fantastic from the moment Mum entered the home . The care and attention she was shown was fantastic . The respect she was shown through to her end of life was amazing . They also helped us a family with their compassion and understanding . The media bombards us with horror stories of nursing and care homes , there was never one moment when we came away after visiting Mum that gave us cause for concern , in fact the exact opposite , we knew she was safe and comfortable. Thank you and well done to all
Thank you to you and your family for all the support you gave to St George's care team. You enabled the team to show their true compassion, and we will always think of mum with fondness and affection.
We now have new owners, things have gone upwards since. The improvements and refurbishment are fantastic - it has the same lovely feel but is now also smart and impressive.
My mother has all her faculties, and the staff have become her every day family - she isn't one to mix, but she enjoys conversing with the staff, and the younger ones open her eyes to how different the world is today than when she was their age! It's a good exchange as she can tell them about life when she was younger.
My father was in another home and he died recently, it was hard for Mum but the staff have been brilliant. It helped me knowing I wasn't leaving her in a house trying cope alone, she has lots of care and support around her 24/7.
The manager is an excellent manager, I can talk to her about anything and she deals with things promptly.
Thank you for your very kind and supportive words. You have given the staff the gratification which drives their compassion and care and I will proudly share with them all.
From the day mum became a resident to her final hours she was given the best care possible and for that, all her family will be forever grateful.
She could be a handful at time's but nothing was too much and they showed her such kindness.
And a special thank you to the manager for all your help and guidance, when we were stuck.
If your thinking about placing a family member here, they will be in good hands, so don't worry.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for being such a supportive family towards the staff. I am so glad that you came to us and stayed for the journey. We all felt a part of mum's life and it was an honour to be with you all at the end. I will share your thoughts with the staff.
The food and service from what I saw on my visits looked good, and the staff worked really hard to attend to resident's needs, despite often challenging situations.
They could not have been kinder and more caring, dealing with a very difficult situation sensitively and providing me with honest communication throughout.
To all the wonderful staff at St Georges - thank you.
Thank you for your very gratifying words to all our staff. I will share with them in full as they are very proud and passionate about the role they play in caring for people at the end of their lives and supporting families. Thank you.
The home has recently been renovated and is a very pleasant place to be. The food was excellent. Sadly my mother refused food and drink, but this did not stop staff from constantly trying with her but never forcing her against her will.
We will always be thankful to all the staff for the care and dignity given to my mother at the end and for the time that we were able to spend with her in a peaceful setting.
We are so grateful for your heart warming comments made about our home and care. They mean a great deal to us and I will share them with our team. Best wishes to you and your family.
The home is kept very clean and has a home-from-home feel about it.
Thank you so much for your much-appreciated comments. I will ensure that these are shared with the team.
My mum stayed in St George's for just under two weeks for end-of-life care. Mum was very happy with her room and facilities. The staff were very kind, caring and compassionate. They treated her with respect and gave her dignity. We, as a family, can not fault this care home and they were always great with Mum and also us as a family. It was very clean and, although Mum wasn't able to eat the food, it always looked lovely.
A very big thank you from all the staff at St George's for your kind review. I have shared with them your thoughts and they are very grateful for the recognised appreciation of their care. Thank you.
My brother has been a resident at St George's Nursing Home for over three years and we have been extremely impressed with the caring and loving attitude of all the staff, they are friendly and professional at all times. My brother is always clean, comfortable and well cared for. I have every confidence that I am contacted as soon as possible if there is any change in his condition.
From the moment I walked into St George's, the staff were wonderful, not only looking after my husband, but taking care of me too! St George's is the most loving, caring place I have ever been in. Because of all the love and care to my husband, and to me and our family, it made saying 'goodbye' much easier. So, thank you St George's for being so wonderful and caring to my husband. Thank you to you all for your calm, gentle way to make my husband be at peace.
Your comments are very special to us all at St George's and so thank you again, Registered Manager.
It was an extremely difficult decision to place our mother in a nursing home, but we knew it was the right thing to do. From our very first contact, we found the staff at St George's to be caring and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble. I have had the experience with multiple care homes, and I feel the care at St George's outshines them all. Our mother was only in a few days, but they treated her with respect and compassion. The aftercare was amazing too; the staff took the time to talk to us and check in on us. I can't rate them highly enough.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us this lovely review; it was our pleasure to care for your mum. Your comments are much appreciated and will be shared with the whole team.
From day one, he settled straight into being cared for. We were allowed to visit anytime, any day, which was marvellous seeing as we were within walking distance from the home.
All the staff were exceptionally kind and very passionate about their roles. The level of care was outstanding, and even when he started to deteriorate health-wise, their care didn't waver. He was still treated so very kindly, which was a great comfort to us.
We knew he was safe there too, which again was a great comfort to us. Everything that was done for him was done with a level of kindness that I had never seen before. Gentle is another word I would use to describe that kindness.
We couldn't have asked for more for him in those last couple of weeks of his life. Everything was perfect.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this lovely review, your comments are very much appreciated by us all.
My partner has been in St Georges for 6-years. I've always found the staff excellent, compassionate and kind. The management team are excellent. They always show respect and provide high standards of care. My sincere thanks to you all.
Thank you Lynn for taking the time to write such a lovely review, your comments are very much appreciated and will be shared with the whole team.
The staff at St Georges are all absolutely amazing and so helpful, making his transition to the home so much easier for us, and they continued to provide the highest level of unwavering care and attention throughout his stay, having a deep respect for his comfort and wellbeing, as well as providing us with reassurance that he was ok whenever we asked, day or night.
The whole family cannot praise the staff enough for everything they did for our dad, right up to the point he slipped peacefully away six weeks later, and I would like to say thank you to everyone involved in looking after him and caring for him during his brief stay.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was our pleasure to look after your dad and your comments are very much appreciated.
My mum spent 18-months at St George's. The housekeeping, care and nursing staff are compassionate and friendly, taking the trouble to get to know both of us. They looked after Mum extremely well, allowing her to keep her dignity and being respectful of her desire for independence. In the last few weeks of her life, particularly the staff, were also very caring in their support for me. Even when Mum no longer had much awareness, all staff continued to treat her as if she had, explaining what they were doing and listening to her with patience and understanding when she was able to express her needs. The office staff were kind and efficient, responding quickly to queries. Mum's stay took place entirely within the Covid pandemic period, St George's did their very best to enable visiting when regulations permitted. I couldn't have wished for better care for her - thank you all.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this lovely review, Jenny. It was our pleasure to look after your mum, and we will all miss her.

Meet the Team (1)

Hello and welcome to St George's. I would like to introduce myself with some background so that you can get a feel of what is important to me and the team.
My nursing career began at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London and once I qualified, my career has followed a very broad and diverse path. I joined the Queen Alexanders Royal Army Nursing Corps in 1982 and this was quickly followed by a commission in the Omani army. My experience of 47 years has culminated in a passion for the care of older people and here at St George's I get to experience this every day. I arrived at St Georges in 2014, along with my mother, who became a resident, and I accepted the role of Deputy Manager. My mother had two lovely years in the home before her death and I decided to continue in my role at St George's. I am now the Registered Manager and continue to embrace the quality of life with our residents. Every day is important to us and we would ike to share this with you.
