Dad came to St George's for end-of-life care from hospital. We found the staff to be informative on entry and were shown around the homes facilities etc. They were compassionate and professional throughout dad's two weeks there and as a family, we could not have asked for more. All the staff from the back of house to front line, made my family feel safe, as well as offering us comfort and care as needed at the difficult time, especially when dad passed. The home was comfortable, clean and well managed, and the staff went the extra mile to make sure dad was treated with dignity. I cannot fault them in any way and with such a difficult job, they were all amazing.

My wife was admitted to St George's for end of life support. Sadly she was only in the home for a short time, but during this time she care and treatment were excellent. Staff were friendly and considerate at all times providing the necessary support for both my wife and all of us.

My mother was placed at St George's Nursing Home for end of life support. From the moment we arrived we could not fault the way Mum was treated. She didn't want to be there but within days they had won her over. The care they gave her was unbelievable. Every member of the staff from the manager, Sally to the catering tea were so kind, caring and supportive. The support I received as well was wonderful. I could not of wanted more for my Mum at the end of her life - thank you there are no words to express my gratitude.

The whole team at St George's were fantastic from the moment Mum entered the home . The care and attention she was shown was fantastic . The respect she was shown through to her end of life was amazing . They also helped us a family with their compassion and understanding . The media bombards us with horror stories of nursing and care homes , there was never one moment when we came away after visiting Mum that gave us cause for concern , in fact the exact opposite , we knew she was safe and comfortable. My mum stayed in St George's for just under two weeks for end-of-life care. Mum was very happy with her room and facilities. The staff were very kind, caring and compassionate. They treated her with respect and gave her dignity. We, as a family, can not fault this care home and they were always great with Mum and also us as a family. It was very clean and, although Mum wasn't able to eat the food, it always looked lovely.

My brother has been a resident at St George's Nursing Home for over three years and we have been extremely impressed with the caring and loving attitude of all the staff, they are friendly and professional at all times. My brother is always clean, comfortable and well cared for. I have every confidence that I am contacted as soon as possible if there is any change in his condition.
From the moment I walked into St George's, the staff were wonderful, not only looking after my husband, but taking care of me too! St George's is the most loving, caring place I have ever been in. It was an extremely difficult decision to place our mother in a nursing home, but we knew it was the right thing to do. From our very first contact, we found the staff at St George's to be caring and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble. I have had the experience with multiple care homes, and I feel the care at St George's outshines them all. Our mother was only in a few days, but they treated her with respect and compassion. The aftercare was amazing too; the staff took the time to talk to us and check in on us. I can't rate them highly enough.

My mum spent 18-months at St George's. The housekeeping, care and nursing staff are compassionate and friendly, taking the trouble to get to know both of us. They looked after Mum extremely well, allowing her to keep her dignity and being respectful of her desire for independence. In the last few weeks of her life, particularly the staff, were also very caring in their support for me. Even when Mum no longer had much awareness, all staff continued to treat her as if she had, explaining what they were doing and listening to her with patience and understanding when she was able to express her needs. The office staff were kind and efficient, responding quickly to queries. Mum's stay took place entirely within the Covid pandemic period, St George's did their very best to enable visiting when regulations permitted. I couldn't have wished for better care for her - thank you all.

Hello and welcome to St George's. I would like to introduce myself with some background so that you can get a feel of what is important to me and the team.
My nursing career began at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London and once I qualified, my career has followed a very broad and diverse path. I joined the Queen Alexanders Royal Army Nursing Corps in 1982 and this was quickly followed by a commission in the Omani army. My experience of 47 years has culminated in a passion for the care of older people and here at St George's I get to experience this every day. I arrived at St Georges in 2014, along with my mother, who became a resident, and I accepted the role of Deputy Manager. My mother had two lovely years in the home before her death and I decided to continue in my role at St George's. I am now the Registered Manager and continue to embrace the quality of life with our residents. Every day is important to us and we would ike to share this with you.
