I'm not quite sure where to begin.... Dad was a resident at Abbey House for just over 3 years and the care and attention he received was exemplary. It felt like Dad had a second family in the staff there. In fact, it felt as if we all had a second family, such was the support that we all received. Nothing was ever too much trouble and all the staff, from all areas of the nursing home, were kind, cheerful and looked after Dad with real compassion. They were welcoming, they listened and they genuinely cared. No matter how disabled or dependent Dad became, I always felt that he was safe and well cared for. They are a wonderful team. Thank you for all that you did for Dad - it meant the world.

We were given a very warm welcome when we came to look for a room for my friend. She has now been a resident for 9 months, and the care she receives is excellent. The staff go to great lengths to care for and comfort my friend. The food is of a high standard and includes homemade cakes. Placing a loved one in care is always a difficult decision, but I have peace of mind leaving my friend in the care of Abbey House. It has a family atmosphere in which everyone is welcomed into.

My wife went to Abbey House in December 2025. Since that time I have found everyone to be absolutely fantastic. The staff from Management, nurses, cleaners, carers, kitchen staff and maintenance have been so friendly. I cannot thank them enough. They looked after my wife with care and compassion. Whenever I went to visit my wife they made me feel so welcome. It actually became a pleasure to visit the home.

I will hold a special place in my heart for all of them. They are really superb human beings.

My father came to Abbey House just before Christmas 2025. Dad was made to feel very welcome and settled quickly. We have since found the staff caring to it's residents and friendly to relatives. I often listen to them talking to residents, and it is caring and compassionate. The home itself is a beautiful setting, and I find it to be very clean. I have since recommended Abbey House to others.

The home offers a safe and comfortable environment. Mum has a community with the other residents. The home has occasional live entertainment which often includes music and the arts. This is organised by a events planner who knows what each resident likes, to get the most enjoyable experience.

My father became a resident at Abbey House just over a year ago. We knew that they had very good reviews before he moved, but nothing could have prepared us for the seamless change over from a hospital stay to being a resident. They dealt with everything with absolute kindness, care and compassion.

During his stay, his dementia has advanced, but he's happy and that's due to the care he receives. We visit often, and it's never a problem, the staff are so friendly. I think we would find it difficult to find a better care home for him.

My wife was a resident for approximately 3 years up to her passing in December. During this time, my family and I are convinced that she was in the best possible place for her. She was always happy there, well cared for, and we were always kept informed of her health and well-being. The staff gave us a warm welcome when visiting, which still applies now when we visit socially. During these difficult years, the staff were always comforting and reassuring to us. Grateful thanks.

My father spent the last few weeks of his life at Abbey House Nursing Home. I cannot praise them enough. The care and compassion they showed was incredible, not only to him, but to all his family too. Nothing was too much trouble for them and every single member of staff always had a ready smile and time to talk. Thank you.

I would like to thank and congratulate the Manager and her team at Abbey House Nursing Home for looking after My Father so well after having a serious stroke in June 2020, during COVID at the age of 95. The hospital was also amazing and once he was on the mend, placed him in Abbey House Nursing Home. My father has now been at Abbey House for 4.5 years and has just celebrated his 100th birthday (Friday 24th January), what an achievement. He would not have survived to 100th without the love, care, encouragement and support which has enabled him to use his muscles, so as to have functional independence to live and enjoy life at his new home at Abbey House. Their gardens are particularly lovely in the summer so as to be able to sit out in the sunshine. We celebrated my father's birthday on Friday 24th January in a private room at Abbey House and the team were once again amazing. I would highly recommend Abbey House Nursing Home for your loved ones.

My mum has lived at Abbey House since May 2023 and when it became necessary for my dad to need care later that year, he was adamant that the only place he would agree to go to, was Abbey House. This was firstly of course, to be with mum, but also because he was aware how kind, friendly and caring the staff are. Everything possible was done to accommodate them both together in a pleasant double room, and Dad soon became settled and content. He appreciates the excellent care, the delicious food, and the way his likes and dislikes are noted and acted on. Management, administration, nurses, and carers, along with kitchen, beverages, laundry, cleaning and maintenance staff, all work with dedication, to make life for residents as comfortable and homely as possible. As a twice-weekly visitor, it is notable how welcome I am always received, and made to feel part of the big family, also that I am immediately informed of any medical issues affecting either parent. Absolutely first class throughout.

My mother moved in in June as it became apparent that she was no longer safe to remain living semi-independently, she has a beautiful airy room, and activities are available, however, she is not a social creature and prefers to remain in her room or sit in the garden, when the weather permits, she says the food is very good and plenty of it, care is excellent, everybody is very friendly, tea/coffee available to visitors as well as homemade cakes.

My Mum has been living at Abbey House for over a year now. She is very happy and so well cared for. All the staff from Nurses to Admin, to Carers, Maintenance, chefs and tea makers are all utterly delightful and my Mum loves them all! It is clear all the staff go to great lengths to make each resident feel safe, happy, and nurtured. I couldn't ask for anything better for my precious Mum. It is clean, homely, well-staffed, bright, and welcoming with delicious home-cooked food. On my Mum's birthday last week, all the staff made a huge fuss of her all day by singing to her, giving her cards and gifts and the fabulous chef even made a fabulous 4-tier cake for her, me, and all the staff and residents to enjoy. It's the personal touches that make Abbey House so special.

My mother has been a resident at Abbey House since January 2024. I cannot fault the care she has received since her arrival. Staff are caring and attentive, treating my mother with respect and dignity. They have ensured she is included in as many activities as possible. My mum has been living at Abbey House since October 2023. I have to say the nursing home is brilliant! The staff really care about the residents and make a personal bond with (in my case) my mum. Mum is always commenting about the 'blue top' staff (the caregivers) as being excellent. I'm very happy with my mum being in Abbey House.

My first impression was a fresh smell of flowers and brightness. My sister's room has all her family photos on the window sill and bedside table which looks very homely, they take time in the morning to put her lipstick on and paint her nails. During the day they have exercise like catching balls and other things like knitting and artwork. The food is first class. I can't praise everyone there enough.
