Overall Experience

My mum arrived at The Grange in August 2023. She was in a bad way mentally and physically. Her new life is a delight for her and the family. The care is exemplary and the entertainment makes her day. Socialising has made a vast difference to her mental state. After all her suffering I finally have my old mum back thanks to all the love and care (and hugs) from the wonderful staff. I chose The Grange because I could feel that love in smiles and laughter from the outset. Such a happy place to be!

The whole team at The Grange are fantastic. They made my dad and the family so welcome and part of the big Grange family.
Everybody is so helpful, friendly, and welcoming.

They met my dad's needs and adjusted as his needs increased and provided excellent end-of-life care. I can't recommend them enough. They are amazing.

Review from Wendy J (Sister of Resident) published on 22 September 2023 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My sister arrived at The Grange in a very poor physical state and a very challenging mental state in September 2022. As a nurse myself I questioned whether the home would cope. However, what I have witnessed has been so very reassuring thus being so impressed by what I have seen. Despite all the difficulties my sister's care, her needs have not only been met but far exceeded any expectations. The Grange is a warm, welcoming environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. I highly recommend this home to everyone I meet.

I have found everyone so kind, understanding, genuinely caring and always smiling. From the minute you go through the double doors, there is an atmosphere of calm, peace, happiness and love and that is very addictive and very relaxing. I call it the residents' second home, it's just wonderful. Wished I had known it very much earlier. It's the best from top to bottom, everyone has the patience of saints, it's just marvellous. Happy days. The Grange Nursing Home, wishing you all the very best for the future. You are the best I have seen. Thank you very much.

From the first day Mum arrived, she was treated with respect and dignity. All her care needs were attended to during her five and a half years as a resident. From the first visit, as a family, we became part of her new family. The reception staff, management and nursing staff through to the cleaning and gardening staff are all excellent. The activities team provided an exceptional range of daily activities.

Thank you for your lovely review, the staff will be thrilled. It is always nice when residents choose to involve themselves in all that is on offer. If you ever fancy popping in for a coffee or attending a blue band relatives event you will be more than welcome.

My mother was a resident in the home for nearly five years. The care she received was excellent, in fact, it is difficult to see how it could be improved. The owner works tirelessly with her large team from admin through to nursing, carers to laundry, cleaning and entertainment. Mum very much enjoyed the quality of the food which is cooked on the premises and caters for individual needs. On nearly every visit, Mum said how well everyone looked after her and thanked them continuously.

Overall Experience

My mother's care over nearly five years was exceptional. She enjoyed the activities provided and loved living there, nothing was too much for staff across all sections. I was always made to feel welcome when visiting The Grange and if I had any queries, they were always dealt with courteously and nothing was too much trouble. During my mum's last days, they ensured she was well cared for and comfortable. During the Covid epidemic, the staff worked tirelessly to protect the residents and we were extremely grateful for their care in difficult circumstances. I believe The Grange is simply the best.

The Grange Nursing Home staff go out of their way to ensure that each resident is looked after and their individual needs are met, and every resident is treated with the greatest of respect and care. Now that Covid rules are relaxed they organised a wonderful platinum jubilee tea party for residents and their families and it was lovely to get back to some sort of normality, with lots of upcoming events to come. Our relative is extremely happy in The Grange Nursing Home and she feels safe, well cared for and looked after and is very content.

The Grange Nursing Home put on a wonderful party for residents and their families to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. They had professional singers and there was singing and dancing with Pimms and soft drinks and delicious food made by the kitchen staff at the home. It was a wonderful afternoon enjoyed by residents and their families alike. The staff were brilliant - so kind to the residents and nothing was too much trouble. This is a very caring home for the elderly with the highest standards and staff that really care in more ways than one!

All staff - nurses, carers, activities, kitchen, cleaning etc, were always good-humoured and attentive.
The medical care was excellent with medicines being dispensed consistently and staff readily available for help and advice.
The food was invariably good in terms of variety, choice, quality and quantity.
My room was well kept with an ensuite shower room and all the most up to date technology one could require.
The gardens were very pleasant and well kept.

The safety of staff and residents regarding Covid were comprehensive and explain why no Covid cases, I was led to believe, had invaded The Grange.

I came to The Grange for one month respite, and after three or four days, decided to stay because I knew how good the care is. I have never regretted a moment of my decision. The carers are so kind and efficient, as are the nursing staff. The kitchen staff so willing and polite. I would recommend The Grange to all. I am very happy here, after two years.

My mother has been a resident at The Grange for the past two years. Despite the difficulties that lockdown have brought over the last 12-months, both management and staff have done their utmost to keep residents safe, active and in touch with families and friends. From contact through video chats, telephone calls and POD visits, all staff have remained positive and continued to show their care, kindness and dedication.

I visited my dear mum most days since she became a resident in The Grange in 2017. It has a lovely, caring, family-friendly atmosphere with lots of varied activities for residents. I was devastated when I was unable to visit when the first lockdown came and was really worried about how she would cope without seeing me, but The Grange quickly put a system of video calls in place to keep us connected, with Covid safe visits at various times when we came out of the lockdowns, keeping families regularly updated and informed. During such challenging times, we really appreciate the efforts and continued care of all the staff over the last year that has ensured mum's continued well-being, and kept us connected with mum and carers on video calls and pod visits when possible.

Since being unable to visit our grandma, (the last visit in person for me was March 2020), we have all taken it in turns to have FaceTime calls with granny. This has enabled us to see how she really is, which is amazing.

We were able to drop off gifts for her recent birthday, a few days prior to her birthday for quarantine purposes. Then we were able to have a slightly longer FaceTime with her while she opened her gifts and cards. Seeing her smiley face and the way she reacted with the gifts was incredible.

As a family, we can’t thank The Grange enough for all they have done during this challenging time, and we can’t wait to be able to see them all along with our Grandma in the future, all being well. All the staff are like part of our extended family now, so we miss seeing them as well.

Thank you for keeping our loved ones safe and well.

Throughout the past 12 heartbreaking months of not being able to see my Grandma, The Grange has enabled weekly FaceTimes with family members, including those overseas. This has allowed us to see how well Grandma looks, and chatter about days gone by.
My Grandma lived a solitary lifestyle before she became a resident here, and now has a new lease of life at 96 due to the incredible staff and her fellow friendly residents at The Grange. The entertainment team have adapted their schedule due to the restriction of external guests... and keep the residents stimulated with numerous activities. Ranging from dominos, armchair aerobics, baking, art and crafts, to seasonal discussions.
It is lovely to see the regular updates on how my Grandma is, and it has made this past year of not being able to see her daily more bearable.

The staff at The Grange genuinely care about each of the residents; their hearts are fully engaged in caring for them.

My father has been receiving “end of life” care at The Grange for the last six months.

The team of staff are incredibly caring, patient and genuinely kind, in what are unprecedented challenging “lockdown“ constraints. Despite this, all the team remain cheerful and positive and totally professional in all aspects of care; thank you and keep the good work up.
