My dad was admitted to The Grange from hospital and was very ill. I was very impressed with The Grange from the first time I visited. The staff are friendly, caring and kind. I was especially impressed with the level of daily activities provided for residents. I would recommend The Grange to anyone.

In March 2019 my friend at the nursing home had to have all her teeth removed by the dental surgeon. Staff support from the home was excellent before, during and after the surgical procedure. Due to a stroke, my friend is unable to communicate clearly at all. So any discomfort, or enjoyment for that matter, can only be detected by regular and detailed observation. Most recently (January 2020), I am particularly pleased the staff noticed a significant amount of hearing loss and initiated a procedure to vacuum the ears. The positive effects were noticeable straight away in increased social interaction from my friend.

Thank you for your review, the staff work hard to build relationships with all our residents and visitors and this helps us to notice any changes that may impact on someone's health and wellbeing. I am glad that you are happy with us as a home.

I am extremely happy to be here. The home has helped me to recover my health. I am far healthier than when I left hospital, where I was at deaths doorstep. If there was an award, this place should have it.

The Grange is an excellent nursing home. My mother has been a resident now for nearly 3 years and she enjoys her time there. The home is very welcoming and does not have the 'just a business' feel to it that so many homes have. The staff are professional and very friendly. Food is excellent and you can choose to have meals there with your family if you so wish (no additional cost). There is a conservatory on the ground floor that opens up into the garden where family can take their loved ones to have some alone time. This also has coffee and tea making facilities (and a tin of biscuits) that you just help yourself to. The whole place is kept very clean and tidy and you never have to worry about feeling uncomfortable there. Entertainment for the residents is also excellent, with daily activities, occasional outings and also special events such as summer BBQ, Christmas market etc. But these are not mandatory. I would highly recommend The Grange to anyone.

I came to The Grange at the end of March for a months respite care and after only a few days after living in an over-large house alone for 31 years, I decided that this was the best place to be.
I have been comfortable and very happy ever since.

I am 93 years old.

My Mum was admitted from hospital to the care home for end of life care. We were given a guided tour before she was admitted and myself and sister were very impressed with the whole set up, we also noted the amount off staff that were present. When mum was admitted it was a very difficult time for us as we were not sure on how to help mum or what the best care was for her, when making decisions on the ones you love it is very worrying that you get them right and you have to rely on the ones that you put the care in. I can honestly say we made the best decision of our lives putting the care of our mum in the hands of all the staff at The Grange, they were caring not only to her but also looked after myself, my sister and family members who visited mum, they went out of their way to make sure we felt at home and nothing was to much trouble. I never write or comment on review sites but because of my experience I have to say a great thank you to The Grange and its staff they were wonderful.

Whilst sadly my fathers stay at the Grange was only for a few weeks the care and compassion shown to dad by all of the staff was evident every time I visited whatever time of the day (or night). A difficult time was made easier to bear knowing dad was in such safe caring hands and he was happy. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff and I would thoroughly recommend the home.

My mother moved into The Grange in November 2015, for palliative end of life care.

The rooms are well designed, bright and clean, and the staff are friendly, kind and supportive. The communal areas are lovely, although sadly Mum was bedridden and preferred not to be moved around in a wheelchair, so she did not use the communal rooms.

Mum felt comfortable and secure in her room and the staff took care that her personal hygiene needs were met and she didn't develop bed sores. Mum passed away in her sleep on 16 January 2016 and the nurse who broke the news to me was as caring and kind as anyone could be. The staff were very supportive and sympathetic to me, both during Mum's stay, and after her death, when they took time to discuss various medical issues with me and to help me come to terms with her passing.

I am grateful that everyone at The Grange took good care of Mum during her final weeks.
