Homefield House is a dementia nursing care home, situated in a vibrant residential area, close to shops in Rooksdown on the outskirts of Basingstoke and consists of four separate living units, each with six single bedrooms, ideal for nursing and respite needs, as well as people suffering from a dementia-related illness.
The single storey home was purpose built in 1995, following consultation with the Alzheimer’s Disease Society and comprises a central arcade area, where all residents can wander safely.

The facility is part of the widely-respected Shaw healthcare portfolio, who have dedicated a great deal of effort to produce more care alternatives at a time when the UK's ageing society needs extensive investment.

Mum was accepted for care and support into Homefield, during the start of covid restrictions in March 2020. During her stay at Homefield, she received professional care and emotional support from your great staff and colleagues. Your dedicated staff brightened her way of life during her stay with you,
and the family thank you so much. We were so fortunate to see mum during her stay, as was located in a front room of Lavender, which provided family relief during this so difficult time of covid and also raised mum's spirits. Would certainly recommend Homefield, as have a caring team who provide a so important service for our loved ones.

Very difficult to say much this year with covid as we have only seen Mum once since March 12th... hard, but we totally understand why. The staff have been great and keep our 'loved ones' safe.

Homefield House is an outstanding nursing home. My mother has been well looked after here by dedicated, kind and compassionate staff for over ten years now. She is supported in a caring and inclusive environment, and one in which respects individuality to best meet the needs of each resident. Homefield
benefits from an exemplary team of professionals, including experienced nurses and carers. Mum responds positively to those looking after her and any changes to her medical or nursing needs have been quickly identified and addressed. I've always been kept up to date and consulted regarding this.
The home and its staff have responded proactively to the ongoing situation, with enhanced infection control measures put in place. Technology has been utilised to help keep families connected to their loved ones in addition to window and garden visits. Care continues to be delivered to the highest of standards at all times. I highly recommend Homefield to others. It is a special place.

In the ten years my partner has been a resident of Homefield House, I have constantly been impressed by the care and diligence shown by all the staff. Indeed, Homefield has a very “homely “ and intimate “feel” which is aided by its unique design. Residents are treated as individuals with due consideration
to their very varied needs which may be complex and changing. Individual Care Plans (and associated documentation) are regularly reviewed (with family involvement) and modified to address changing needs and interests. There is a full programme of activities – including day trips, external entertainers and involvement of the local community (organised by a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator) - which are tailored to an individual’s need with the aim that everyone is involved and stimulated to the extent of their abilities. No one is “parked” and all staff (whatever their position) take time to regularly interact with the residents. All in all, my partner receives excellent care.

My father has lived in Homefield House for nearly 10 years. His care cannot be faulted in any way. All the staff are dedicated and unfaltering in their quest to provide the best care. The residents are always treated as individuals. I have never felt any concerns regarding dads care. Well done to all

The staff really care for the resident and family dementia care has to be such hard work with the long hours they do. The surgery makes their job very difficult and in my relative's case, the surgery let him down at the end of his life.

My wife is well looked after, most of the staff have been very kind and caring to her especially in the last few weeks when she has been very poorly. We are very grateful to all the girls that looked after her, she could have so easily ended up in hospital. Thank you.

I am generally happy with Homefield House - I feel my wife is well cared for - the staff are dedicated and always courteous and address any issues that may arise. I've always found the staff to be pleasant and caring and very approachable when I've turned up unannounced. My aunt has always looked very smart and cared for.

I joined homefield house as Deputy Manager in March 2023.


I started my career when I left school 29 years ago, after spending much time in and out of hospital with my father.


My first job was as an Housekeeping Assistant for the mount hospital and from there, I realised I have a passion to look after people and making a real difference to peoples’ lives.


My career opened up new opportunities to develop my skills, working towards a higher level in management.


I have been in a management role since 2017, working in various health care settings. I am continuing to develop my skills and I am always looking for ways to challenge myself.
