This generates a passion among staff to provide the best possible care and support for all customers.

Shaw now employs over 4,500 people to provide care to over 3,000 individuals in registered care homes, hospitals, supported living arrangements, retirement schemes and domiciliary care settings.

Shaw has forged successful partnerships with Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) and Social Care teams across England, Wales and Scotland, developing care services and facilities for adults, older people and those with dementia and complex needs at the request of care commissioners.

They promote their brand through three values; wellness, happiness and kindness and these are the central thread that runs throughout all they do.

My husband has had difficulty in settling but has always been treated with kindness, even when he has been agitated and sometimes aggressive. I have always been informed of any problems and I am very impressed with the recording of even minor details. Not only do the staff and nurses treat my husband
with respect but they have shown concern for me also during this difficult settling in period.

My wife has Alzheimer's, and I needed to go to have a planning session before starting radiation treatment.
I thought it would be better for her to be in a safe community while I was there.
I arranged a one day and night visit and was relieved that it was possible for her to be looked after for
about 25 hours or so.
She seemed quite happy when I collected her the following day.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My 95 year old father went into full time care at Ledbury in May 2025 after 3 months of assessment. During that time he has thrived and is really enjoying time in his new home. There are times, as expected, when he has a bad day but overall he is happy, contented and full of praise for the staff. More
recently he has thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment where he fully participates in events. My family are absolutely delighted with the progress he is making and are eternally grateful to those that provide the care and look after him every day.

My Nan recently had a stayed at figbury lodge for 8weeks. she often told us when we went to visit that the carers were good to her and some staff felt like family and she enjoyed having a good laugh each day with them. She was very anxious when she first arrived at figbury but she soon settled. Would
highly recommend this care home.
Reply from Kim Harris, Home Manager at Figbury LodgeThank you for your kind review! We're so glad to hear your Nan felt settled and well cared for during her stay. It's great that she enjoyed her time with the team - we really appreciate your recommendation!

Our mum went into residential care in August 2025 and we were lucky she was placed in Forest view.
Without exception the staff were warm, caring and kind. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and it was clear that the staff truly cared about the residents.
We as a family were made extremely
welcome whenever we visited.
Mum sadly passed away at almost 101 years in October 2025 and we could not have asked for anything better in the way they cared for her in her last few days and how they supported the family as a whole.
Forest View really is a care home full of kindness and compassion where all the residents are treated with dignity.
We will remain forever grateful
To the staff for taking such good care of mum.
Reply from Karen Russell, Home Manager at Forest ViewThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We're deeply touched to know that your mum and your family felt so supported during her time with us. It's an honor to have cared for her, and we're grateful for the trust you placed in us. Your kind words mean so much to the team - we'll always remember your mum with warmth and fondness.

The care home is small so has a lovely friendly feel. Dad has been here for around 10 days and is very happy. He said the food is very good + he sleeps well. We, as a family are delighted as its always hard making their choices.

Ledbury Nursing Home

from Sara W (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 December 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I cannot recommend Ledbury Nursing Home highly enough. My father received the highest quality care from all the staff without exception, and my mother was shown such wonderful respect and compassion whenever she visited, which was daily throughout the 4 months. His room, the facilities and the communal
areas were excellent, always clean and well supplied. The staff were always so approachable and friendly and always reacted timely and efficiently whenever we needed anything.
Initially the layout of the room was a little awkward, with the TV positioned behind him, but this was later resolved and is only a very minor remark. Unfortunately, due to his condition, my father was unable to join in any of the activities, but when we visited we were always made to feel welcome and invited to join if we wanted to, all serving to make us feel very much a part of loving community within the home.
Reply from Jane Pye, Home Manager at Ledbury Nursing HomeThank you so much for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that both your father and mother felt well cared for and respected during his stay. It's great to know the facilities and staff met your expectations, and we appreciate your feedback on the room layout - we're glad we could address that. We're truly grateful for your kind words and for making us feel like part of your family during your visits.

My husband has been a resident at Woodview House for nearly four months now and I cannot praise all the staff enough for his care, they all work together to provide an excellent quality of care. He is not the easiest person to look after but the staff always show patience and understanding even during
challenging circumstances. Woodview House welcomes family and friends and the atmosphere is calm but inviting. Many different activities and entertainment are provided and residents are encouraged to listen, watch or participate. The highlight of the day from my husband's point of view has to be the meals which are varied but always good quality. I would like thank them all from the bottom of my heart.
