Cartref Care Home

Thank you Cartref.

It is a traumatic event when someone you've lived with for 60 years has to leave home to be cared for elsewhere. So it was for me a crushing, emotion. The staff at Cartref were amazing - understanding, helpful, friendly and everything that made the place a 'home'. This has continued for the months my wife has lived there and no praise is too high for the place and the wonderful staff.

I visited 6 care homes and I knew immediately I walked through Cartref's door that this was the one for my parents. The staff were friendly and chatting to the residents and the residents seem very happy. My mother has been here for 2.5 years and is very content indeed.

My husband moved to Cartef Care Home at the beginning of March. Preparation was very thorough and we were able to make his room welcoming with personal possessions. The staff could not have been more considerate and he has been made very comfortable. he seems to have settled in very well, is enjoying meals and company. His walking is improving and I enjoy being able to visit frequently.

All very good.

Mum and I could not be happier with the care she receives here. Everyone is so helpful and friendly and welcoming and she feels really valued and looked after. Because of Mum's Alzheimer's she needs help with her personal care and this is done with respect and sensitivity. We are so grateful. If we could give the staff here six stars we would.

There is a lovely garden to sit in and usually a good range of activities. I like that you can turn up to visit anytime and you are welcomed . Can't thank Leanne and her team enough for all they do. If I needed a residential home in the future I really hope it would be like this one !!

In particular, I want to thank Leanne, whose presence and support went far beyond anything I could have expected. Leanne spent hours with me, offering not just professional care, but genuine humanity.

I am definitely going to come here as a resident when the time comes, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

All the staff are well trained and genuinely caring. The communication between the staff and family is excellent and the manager is friendly and efficient.

I am very pleased with Cartref, thank you to all concerned.

I regularly visit Cartref to hold an informal and meaningful church service. With a group of residents we sing hymns together, have a Bible reading with a short and encouraging message and a prayer. The leadership and staff are so friendly and helpful each time I visit. I also must say that staff interaction with the residents is excellent. I see first hand the respect and friendliness that is shown to residents, which is professional and supportive. They really care about the residents and are always there to respond to their needs. Definitely five stars.

I arranged for my husband to become a resident at Cartref after five years of him becoming more and more withdrawn, following ill health and retirement. Doctors gave him various anti-depressants and other treatment for depression, none of which helped. Moving him to Cartref has made a huge difference and he is returning to his previous, cheerful self. All the staff at Cartref are wonderful, so kind and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. I cannot thank them all enough.

Great care home with staff that really care for the patients. Always good vibes when I visit.

Mum has been in Cartref Care Home for nearly a year. She says that the food is good and the staff are very kind and caring. There are some events and activities such as trips and visits from singers etc. There is a small garden for the summer. Her room (single, en-suite) looks fine. However, the best and most important feature of Cartref is the excellent staff who are very caring.

Friendly, very clean, staff are always happy to help. Activities are nice and residents seem to enjoy them. The garden is always kept lovely.

Lovely welcoming home; staff are friendly and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. The last couple of years has been very hard with covid, staffing etc but they’ve never failed in their caring of the residents. In December it was my mum's 100th birthday and they gave her a wonderful party to say the least. I cannot fault the care given from top to bottom it’s wonderful

Cannot mark rooms, never seen inside one due to lockdown, but my mother says it is lovely.
