Croft Meadow

I began working for Shaw healthcare in November 2018 joining Hillside Lodge as a Home Manager. My first time as a home manager and the first time with Shaw, I am enjoying both very much.

Prior to joining Shaw, I enjoyed roles of clinical lead and deputy manager in three different homes, in the West Sussex area.
I originally trained as a nurse in Romania my homeland, where I worked in a cardiac clinic for several years.

Here at Hillside Lodge, I really like that I can make a change in people lives and I feel so privileged, to care for a generation to whom life was something you can only see in the movies.
Since becoming Manager, I have made a point of getting to know all the residents in the home, they all call me by my christian name.
My office door is open to residents whenever they would like a chat or sometimes, they just pop by for a coffee with me.

Memories of a special working day? Well, last year’s Christmas fair was something to remember, I was holding a snake weighting only few pounds less than me and the other reason I have to say is the joy in the residents faces whilst they shaved my hair for charity.

I really love my job!

I joined Shaw in 2018, working at Warmere Court, as an administrator, support worker, and then team leader. I have now progressed to Deputy Manager and transferred to Croft Meadow.
I enjoy making a difference in the residents' lives. I am constantly learning new skills and I love putting these into practice to improve residents' wellbeing.

Claire started at Croft as a support worker and has worked her way to a team leader. Claire enjoys making a difference in how people are feeling, whether it’s a smile, a conversation, reassurance, or assisting them with day-to-day life.

I have worked in care for many years. I have NVQ level 2 and 3 which I gained whilst in the community and here at Croft Meadow.

I enjoy being part of the team here at Croft Meadow and enjoy making a difference to our residents life’s and making sure that they are happy in their environment and well cared for.

I was a Staff nurse at Worthing Hospital then later in my career I was a registered General Nurse at Baytree’s Nursing Home before joining team Croft Meadow.

I was originally here on a bank contract but, now have a permanent contract at Croft Meadow as a Registered General Nurse which I really enjoy.

I have been working at Croft Meadow in both of my roles for close to 4 years and I thoroughly enjoy caring for the residents here and working with the staff. There is a definite family feel within the home.

Sarah has had 7 years experience in care and activities. Sarah says she loves her job and everyday is different, she enjoys encouraging residents to achieve their goals and enhance their lives.

I like to go home knowing that I have made someone smile and made them happy.

I love being with the residents, they have become my second family. I try to be kind and caring and do my best for the residents. it's rewarding to know you’ve made a difference.

After having my children, I started at Croft Meadow (age 24) as a care assistant then after 29 years as a carer I changed roles to domestic. I have an NVQ in care level 2. I love working in the home and it fits in well with my family life. The most thing i enjoy about my job is chatting with residents, and having a laugh with them and seeing them smile.

Alin has had 5 years experience in care, Alin enjoys caring for the residents and doing his best each day.

I enjoy my role and the team of domestics I have. I love meeting the residents every day, its like one big family

Lindsey says she enjoys helping people, this is the perfect role for her as she is supporting everyone within the service.

Christina says she enjoys making home-cooked meals for the residents and getting the residents involved in menu choices to ensure they enjoy all their meals and their nutritional needs are met.

Andy enjoys ‘all the little jobs’ that come up in the home, he loves the fact he can socialise with the residents whilst working.
