Thorndale

Dad stayed for two weeks respite care. He was looked after well. All the staff were friendly, helpful and caring. Just what was needed.

My mother has alzheimer's and has been at Thorndale since December 2024. The staff put us at ease from beginning and are always helpful and friendly. We can tell that she is well looked after and cared for. They are all fantastic, especially Mags, Laura and Chloe

My wife was admitted to Thorndale in December 2024. we can tell that she is really well looked after by all the staff and cared for. They are all Superb, especially Mags, Laura and Chloe.

My dad was admitted to Thorndale at the beginning of August. I was full of trepidation at taking such a life changing step. I needn't have worried. Dad is full of good humour and praise for the staff, calling them his friends. He is always smart and clean. He enjoys the food and garden. All the staff are helpful and cheery. I am so grateful that this has been a positive step and my dad is happy.

My father went to stay at Thorndale for respite. The staff from day one showed so much care and empathy to dad. Going into a home was never what my amazing dad would have wanted, this has been a huge decision but everyone at Thorndale has made this transition into care very smooth. Dad is enjoying the company, the food - he loves the food, he even had his first mocktail at Thorndale. All staff have been so caring that we have decided dad will remain at Thorndale, he is happy, well cared for and well fed with endless cups of tea! The staff clearly work hard to support all the residents. Last Saturday I took dad for a walk, not far from the Thorndale dad fell. I phoned the home and 3 members of staff came out to meet us, wheelchair at the ready. The care and attention the staff gave dad after the fall, cleaning his wounds, calling medical help and district nurses, making him a cup of tea and not letting him feel embarrassed. I would not hesitate to recommend Thorndale.

Welcoming staff, lovely clean environment. N is clearly well cared for + has made great improvements in health & mobility since living here.

My mother, Liz, has been a resident at the home for several years. She is very happy there, both with the medical and pastoral care. For me, I am very impressed with the staff of the home, both medical and management and administrative. As a family, we are all very pleased that Liz is there.

Keep us up to date with all matters illness doctors appointments etc etc

We have been so pleased since our lovely Mum came here some years ago. Mum is so settled and well cared for. I feel confident in all aspects of her care and support.

I would love to stay but i havn't got the money too.

Dad has been here a few months now, he viewed another care home first but decided on Thorndale ,he told me he liked Thorndale better as it felt more homely. The staff are so kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. I like the fact if I need to speak to someone about dad I can straight away. Dad regularly participates in the activities which he enjoys, thank you to all the staff that look after Dad I appreciate it so much.I would recommend this care home to anyone thin,ing of staying here.

Amazing staff always very friendly, supportive and very bubbly. Always keeping myself updated as soon as anything happens or changes. Very well looked after and clean facilities. Overall highly recommend.

Mum had lived alone following my Dads passing away in March 2018. In August last year she had a couple of falls at home and a hospital and rehabilitation stay followed. Mum no longer felt safe staying at home alone. Mum went into Thorndale on October 7th initially for 2 weeks respite care whilst I was on holiday. After my return from holiday Mum was due to go home with a care package. We were lucky enough to be told just before my return that Mum qualified for 24 hour care and was able if she wanted to stay at Thorndale. Mum said yes without hesitation. She has made some good friends with fellow residents, joins in with the activities, and loves having her hair done weekly in the on site salon. We are made to feel very welcome when we go into visit Mum, we're invited to join in with the activities and if tea and coffee are made we are offered 1 too. Thank you Thorndale for looking after Mum so well.

The staff are really helpful and caring couldn't ask for more, really happy dad is here. Always checking on him, keeping him entertained and keeping me updated as to any needs he may have. Thank you Thorndale!

Mum went into Thorndale for respite care when dad had an operation and couldn't care for her during his recovery. We've found the staff all very warm, welcoming, friendly and professional, from management to everyone else. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is very accommodating to us all. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Thorndale to anyone looking for a care home. Our mum was very anxious about going in for care but settled almost immediately and joins in with many of the activities offered, we feel very secure with her there.

My mother was very fortunate to stay at Thorndale for approx. 4 weeks due to an emergency situation at her flat. The flat was flooded and she had to move out. As a family we were unaware of Thorndale even though we live locally to the care home. This was a very new experience for my mum who is 95 and to myself and my 2 sisters. If we had any concerns or worries they were quickly reassured by the amazing staff. This care home scores top marks on all levels from the clean surroundings, friendly environment and resident events and activities. Thank you again for looking after mum at such short notice and making her stay with you a very positive experience.

Absolutely fantastic care home! All the staff and management are absolutely amazing, nothing is ever too much for any of them and they really do do the best job, my Nan is here and she's well looked after and always says how nice all of the girls are. It's an absolute privilege to have such lovely people looking after her. Whenever me or any of my family visit they always make us feel welcome.
