My mother will have been at Lancum House for nearly three years in May 2026.
The care given to my mum has been consistent, all the workforce continue doing a brilliant job,, often under very challenging circumstances.
I appreciate the hard and demanding service they provide, but always with a smile,
kindness and compassion, so cannot thank everyone enough for what they do, I am very grateful to everyone, and I am sure my mum is too.
The Activity Leaders arrange various activities, the kitchen staff too, cook and provide delicious meals.
The app is just so brilliant , mum really enjoys looking through the photos in her printed Gazette each week with Jackie and Charlotte. I have just prepared Gazette No 130 for my mum this week! A trip down memory lane for everyone.
The Dementia Choir is thoroughly enjoyed by everyone too-its all smiles and laughter...and memories too!

All the staff at Ashfield House are very approachable, and nothing is ever too much for them. Since my mother arrived here, she has been extremely happy, always complimenting how caring the staff are.
As a family, we visit often and are always made to feel very welcome.

My mother became a resident four months ago, following two previous week-long respite stays and showed a great desire to become a permanent resident at Ashfield House. She has made some lovely friends and enjoys the entertainers that come to the home. She has become much happier since moving in, as
she now has the company that was lacking due to her poor mobility following many falls at home, which consequently meant that she could no longer get out to socialise.

On behalf of myself and all my family, I wish to praise the outstanding care received by my 105 year old mother for the last 4 years and especially when she finally left us. The staff were not only excellent with my mother who had become extremely frail but supported my wife and I during this difficult
time.
Mum was always happy with the staff and Ashfield House itself. We had needed to move out of a large house where Mum had her own bedsit at short notice, but right from the start everyone was so welcoming that the transition from bedsit to a care home was completed easily and in a very caring way. Nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend Ashfield House unreservedly and know that my Mums last few years were happy and comfortable.
My thanks and best wishes to all the staff.

Sandra settled in quite quickly and soon began to make friends. Though Sandra is usually easy going the staff at Victoria House also made her stay here pleasant and welcoming. She says that she is happy and has no problems. I notice as to how well the staff seem to get on with each other and this will
contribute to a relaxed and happy atmosphere, also that quite a number of staff have many years service again showing this is a good place to be. Thank you Victoria House for looking after my wife for her short stay here.

We have been blessed to have my mother in law in Sandalwood care. The team is professional, hard working and great when it comes to communication. You have to have a special kind of heart to care for vulnerable people and I must say every member of the team has such heart. They talk to my mother in
law with dignity, genuine care and warmth, make sure she has drinks, food, she is comfortable and all her needs are met. They are always in touch with me sharing information about her wellbeing and her care plan, activities and procedures.
I would like to wish health and abundance of happiness to the care team !

My mum came here for respite care. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism. The staff were very polite and engaged with you. Prior to coming to Ashfield House, my mum struggled to eat, but while at Ashfield, she looked forward to her meals. She was also happier. I was also impressed with

All the staff are very friendly to myself and all other family members. They always take the time to stop and talk to my mother by name when passing. They constantly make sure she never wants for something to eat or drink. They constantly call and email, keeping us up to date on my mother's well-being.

Having looked at several care homes in the area, for my father who has dementia and recently lost his wife of 72 years, Sandlewood Court was an easy decision. Since my father has been there, he has vastly improved in himself and is happy with life there. He says he loves it, and everyone is so kind,
always smiling and willing to help him with every need, and he doesn't feel lonely anymore.
The whole care team are wonderful, kind, and go beyond and make my 94 year old dad feel like he's in one big happy family.
Myself and extended family agree that Sandlewood Court is all about - First class care, first!

very homely. The rooms are always spotless clean and nothing is to much for the staff to do. Mum has been in Abbott for 3 years now and wishes she had gone in there earlier. All Staff at Lamcum house - espeacilly Nneka Anita are always pleasant on approach entering and upon leaving the house.
Staff are ready availble to discuss any queries upon approach and reassurance in a private manner.
Staff are always warm and friendly and include visitors when drinks are being
offered. The home is warm clean and safe with plenty of staff around, you never have to go and find one!!!
I love the way all residents are included in all activities,Not just a selected few.
The garden is absoulty brillaint and tailored to all the residents needs plant beds they can reach so they do not have to bend down.
I know staff have to deal with unexpected difficult situations which I have observed upon my visits and love the way staff dealt with the situation calmly swiftly yet being repectful considerate to all residents.
There is true genuine respect and compassion towards all the residents from all staff and I know my aunt will enjoy the garden in the summer

On my last visit Abbott House had a friendly atmosphere, the staff greeted me by name which is welcoming. I had prearranged a time to sit and discuss care plan and needs. This provides a family centred approach to care for my mother in law, with good communication between staff and family.

What love and kindness have done. My sister was placed into Sandalwood Court in August 2024 in a very poor way. She was put on end-of-life and palliative care, but she was made so comfortable and cared for with love and kindness that she miraculously recovered and us very happy and content. She cannot
walk, but she joins in as much as she can and has now started knitting again at the age of 101. My heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful staff at Sandalwood Court for not only caring for my sister but also for the care and compassion they give to our family. I therefore fully recommend Sandalwood Court and would also feel comfortable there myself.
