My Mum was cared for at Abbott House from June 2023. Mum was well looked after by all the staff. The home is clean, rooms are excellent with ensuite facilities. Food is prepared with care and a choice is given to residents. I visited Mum daily and I was extremely impressed with the caring staff. After Mum died, I visited another lady there until May 2026. In all that time, it was a pleasure to find the same staff working, I think this is very important for the residents to have the same familiar faces looking after them. I visited Abbott House today to see a friend of mine, what a pleasure to see all the staff again. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I applaud them.

The overall feel of AH is friendly, welcoming, caring & professional.

As always , am super impressed with the attention to detail that staff at Abbott House have looking after my Mum. Regular contact to discuss her care. Mum is very settled and I am very happy that she is being cared for so well. Shout out to all the lovely staff.

Mum has been in Abbott House for over 4 years and has always been treated with care, dignity, kindness and respect by all the staff. Unfortunately during that time the home has had 4 managers! Thankfully Holly (one of the previous managers), did stay for 2 years so there was a stable and happy atmosphere during that period. Since then if it hadn't been for Hannah who has been at Abbott Houses for at least 5 years (initially as a carer, then working alongside Holly as Assistant Manager), and the regular staff I may have considered moving mum. But thanks to them, mum is safe, contented and well looked after.

Upon my visits staff are always pleasant and welcome my approach. I also like having conversations with other residents as visiting on a regular basis you get to know others really well. Management are always welcoming and spare the time to chat.

Staff are very caring and nurturing towards the residents. Residents seem to be happy every time I have visited. Information boards could do with recovering as some of them are peeling. Think staff should get longer breaks or break in am, then lunch, and break in pm.

The care and attention received by my mother and all the other residents at Lancum House is always outstanding. The staff are superb and nothing is to much trouble for them. All residents seem happy and contented and the patience shown by the staff is amazing. However much the staff are paid, it's not enough!

The care my nan receives is the best. I have no worries about my nan living at Lancum. The staff and management all go above and beyond.

Care and information has always been a priority to our family and has always been available to us. Overall we are very happy with the care given.

When my friend first went to Abbott House it was well run and it was obviously the well being of the residents which was the priority. In the last few months, although it can be seen that the carers still have the best interests of the residents at heart and they do their best for them, this can not be said of the management which is poor.

It's always a pleasure to visit Sandalwood Court. The staff are always welcoming, professional & incredibly kind. The home is clean, tidy & smalls nice! The residents always appear to be happy, entertained & well cared for.

"Care" home ???

Dad stayed for two weeks respite care. He was looked after well. All the staff were friendly, helpful and caring. Just what was needed.

This was quite frankly the best decision for mum. The staff are absolutely amazing. Their care for mum is second to none. Always something going on activities wise. Mum is always spick and span. Mum has her hair and nails done. Mum has put on all the weight she lost due to the fantastic staff. I can't thank them enough knowing mum is safe and so well looked after.

Mum loves it at sandalwood. The staff are so good with her. Always very helpful and caring. They have a great selection of activities and the amazing staff always encourage mum to join in and she really enjoys that. She is alway clean and well presented. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Staff are always discreet when talking about mum. As a family we are so grateful mum is happy and safe. Sandalwood has a real homely feel to it. So glad sandalwood was available when mum needed caring for. Wouldn't want her anywhere else.

Carers, housekeeping and kitchen staff all do their best in difficult circumstances. The home lacks effective leadership and is currently, in my opinion, poorly run. The best interests of residents is not at the centre of decision making. Poor engagement with adult social care has caused considerable disruption and ultimately my mother has moved to another home.
