My dad came to Victoria House just over a yr ago, I have only hard good reviews from visitors hence our decision. The first initial wks were very hard, dad settling in and us as a family adapting. Staff were and always are ready to reassure. chat to us over dad's needs. Victoria House hold lots of days

My husband has been in Victoria House for a couple of months now and appears to have settled in well. The staff are really good with him considering his needs. The home is welcoming as soon as you walk in the front door as the foyer is decorated for events, or seasons of the year and has a picture board
of residents at different activities - both lovely touches. The idea of individual lounge areas is great. Lounge, dining area and kitchen all in one room with tv, wall art, curtains etc which makes it very homely. The staff all get on well and are very friendly, helpful and caring of the residents needs. The food is excellent and all home cooked! There are activities on most days and sometimes there are singers which the residents really enjoy. Recently there was a 'pub night' with take away fish 'n' chips, bingo and darts. Very well organised and enjoyed by all. I am so pleased that I pushed for Victoria House to be my husband's new 'Home'. He is very well looked after. Thank you.
Reply from Kristina Craig, Home Manager at Victoria HouseThank you for sharing such wonderful feedback. We're so pleased your husband has settled in and is enjoying life at Victoria House, and that our team and activities are making it feel like home.

Dad has been here a few months now, he viewed another care home first but decided on Thorndale ,he told me he liked Thorndale better as it felt more homely. The staff are so kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. I like the fact if I need to speak to someone about dad I can straight away.
Dad regularly participates in the activities which he enjoys, thank you to all the staff that look after Dad I appreciate it so much.I would recommend this care home to anyone thin, ing of staying here.

From the start Sandalwood staff have been very professional with the care & attention to my mum.
Immediately on arrival she felt relaxed & comfortable.
She felt very happy & safe in her new surroundings.
Having her own belongings from her own home have helped her feel more secure too.
If she or
I have a query we can approach any of the staff at any time & the query is quickly answered.
The whole building is extremely clean & welcoming.
The entertainment staff are full of energy & enthusiasm. To the extent they have my mum dancing - she never normally does this.

It's wonderful to know she is enjoying the activities too - especially the dancing! Your kind words mean a great deal to our whole team.

My mum has felt safe and content in Ashfield. The environment is clean and welcoming and staff always greet you with a smile. One small criticism would be that any live entertainment or tv's are at a volume that makes the ears hurt - just because they are old doesn't mean they are all deaf!
Reply from Gina Fearn, Home Manager at Ashfield HouseThank you for your feedback! We're thrilled your mum feels safe and happy at Ashfield, and we'll take your note about volume on board to make things more comfortable for everyone.

My Sister-In-Law was taken from us by "LBD-Dementia" some 12 to 18 months ago. I'm sure some of you reading this review will know and understand what this means. We (my wife & I, Wife POA), don't live near by. Inn fact we live some 1 hours drive away. It was very difficult in the beginning when she
was diagnosed. Many falls at home and an older husband who just didn't understand. Eventually, from a fall, she was taken in to hospital. When the time came for discharge her husband refused to have her home. Again, eventually she was taken to a residential care home which was not a nice place to be left at. Again she had a few falls and ended up back in hospital with the home refusing to take her back.
Ashfield House (Raunds) took her in and since then we have not had any problems at all. ALL THE STAFF ARE VERY, VERY, DEDICATED, FRIENDLY, CAREING, In fact, I WANT TO LIVE THERE !!!
My Sister-In-Law, could not be in a better place. WELL DONE AHSFIELD !!!
Reply from Gina Fearn, Home Manager at Ashfield HouseThank you for sharing your experience with us. From the moment my sister was visited in the hospital by the Manager I have been totally impressed by Ashfield. It is clean and welcoming. The meals are lovely- we have tried them ourselves !
The new receptionist is lovely and cheerful and is. like most of her colleagues, never too busy to stop and
answer any queries in a lovely manner, even if it is just about the resident budgie.
Most of the Staff including the Maintenance Man and the Laundry ladies are always very patient with and friendly towards my sister and my family and are very approachable and provide a good service.
The care provided by Ashfield is second to none, in my experience and the Senior Carers whether face-to-face or over the phone are 'Ab Fab'.
Thank you Ashfield for helping me through these sometimes very difficult times,
Reply from Gina Fearn, Home Manager at Ashfield HouseThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. My mother will have been at Lancum House for nearly three years in May 2026.
The care given to my mum has been consistent, all the workforce continue doing a brilliant job,, often under very challenging circumstances.
I appreciate the hard and demanding service they provide, but always with a smile,
kindness and compassion, so cannot thank everyone enough for what they do, I am very grateful to everyone, and I am sure my mum is too.
The Activity Leaders arrange various activities, the kitchen staff too, cook and provide delicious meals.
The app is just so brilliant , mum really enjoys looking through the photos in her printed Gazette each week with Jackie and Charlotte. I have just prepared Gazette No 130 for my mum this week! A trip down memory lane for everyone.
The Dementia Choir is thoroughly enjoyed by everyone too-its all smiles and laughter...and memories too!
Reply from Alysha Coleman, Home Manager at Lancum HouseThank you so much for your thoughtful review. We're incredibly grateful for your kind words and are so pleased to hear that your mum is receiving such wonderful care at Lancum House. My mother became a resident four months ago, following two previous week-long respite stays and showed a great desire to become a permanent resident at Ashfield House. She has made some lovely friends and enjoys the entertainers that come to the home. She has become much happier since moving in, as
she now has the company that was lacking due to her poor mobility following many falls at home, which consequently meant that she could no longer get out to socialise.
Reply from Gina Fearn, Home Manager at Ashfield HouseThank you so much for your kind words about Ashfield House.
We're truly delighted to hear that your mother has settled in so well, made lovely friendships, and is enjoying the entertainment and social activities. It means a great deal to us to know she's feeling happier and benefiting from the companionship and support around her.

On behalf of myself and all my family, I wish to praise the outstanding care received by my 105 year old mother for the last 4 years and especially when she finally left us. The staff were not only excellent with my mother who had become extremely frail but supported my wife and I during this difficult
time.
Mum was always happy with the staff and Ashfield House itself. We had needed to move out of a large house where Mum had her own bedsit at short notice, but right from the start everyone was so welcoming that the transition from bedsit to a care home was completed easily and in a very caring way. Nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend Ashfield House unreservedly and know that my Mums last few years were happy and comfortable.
My thanks and best wishes to all the staff.
Reply from Gina Fearn, Home Manager at Ashfield HouseThank you for your very kind words. Your appreciation of our staff and the support they gave you during a difficult time means a great deal to us. Our very best wishes to you and your family.
