My mum has now been in the martlets for a year and over all they have been wonderful. The manager Jess is always very responsive, all the managers, nurses and staff are always friendly and approachable. I understand we may not have been the easiest family / resident to deal with having a lot go on during
my mums first year but they have been very accommodating and flexible. Medically not one single emergency or trip to hospital, stark contrast to before my mum came to the home. They have beautiful Xmas decorations up at the moment, they make the effort to make the home look nice which is lovely, overall im very happy with how things have gone over the last year and any grumbles are minor in the grand scheme of things :)
Reply from Jessica Geall, Home Manager at The MartletsThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We are thrilled to hear that your mum has settled so well over the past year and that you feel supported by our team. It's wonderful to know she has had a smooth year medically and that you enjoy the festive touches around the home. Your words mean a lot to all of us, and we're so pleased to have been able to support you and your family.

Glebe House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mother lived in Glebe House for 3.5 years until her recent passing. She had a lovely south-facing ground floor room with a patio door and a beautiful view of part of the informal garden. She moved in after a hospital stay and thrived on the thoughtful and attentive care and nourishing food. She inevitably
became more frail, but was always comfortable and content, and enjoyed her meals. All the staff looked after her with both love and professionalism, responding to her needs promptly, respectfully and effectively. Everyone was always on the lookout, though this wasn't made obvious. The staff care for family members as much as for residents, and there is a cheerful family atmosphere. The activities are interesting and varied. Glebe House is a well-planned building, with well-maintained facilities, and good staffing levels. The laundry service is outstanding. Glebe is not outwardly showy, but it provides the important intangibles: safety, reliability and love. Thoroughly recommended.
Reply from Joanne Holman, Home Manager at Glebe HouseThank you so much for sharing your kind and thoughtful words. We are so pleased to hear that your mother felt comfortable, content, and well cared for during her time at Glebe House. It means a great deal to know that our team's attentiveness, care, and the family atmosphere were appreciated. Your reflections truly capture the heart of what we aim to provide for all our residents, and we are very grateful for your recommendation.

Our mum went into residential care in August 2025 and we were lucky she was placed in Forest view.
Without exception the staff were warm, caring and kind. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and it was clear that the staff truly cared about the residents.
We as a family were made extremely
welcome whenever we visited.
Mum sadly passed away at almost 101 years in October 2025 and we could not have asked for anything better in the way they cared for her in her last few days and how they supported the family as a whole.
Forest View really is a care home full of kindness and compassion where all the residents are treated with dignity.
We will remain forever grateful
To the staff for taking such good care of mum.
Reply from Karen Russell, Home Manager at Forest ViewThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. My Mum has been in for respite a number of times now,
We have always been made welcome by all the staff and treated very well.
The home is a lovely place with plenty of space to move around with different rooms to go.
Everyone has been brillant and I'm sure My Mum has enjoyed her time and been looked
after.
It has also given me peace of mind as I didn't know what to expect when we came for the first time.
So I am truely greatful to all the staff.
You do have to keep an eye on clothes items that can get mislade but tend to turn up, But being a 80 bedroom home I think this will always happen, so do make sure you label your items to help the staff.
Once again I'm very greatful for all the help from the home and all the Staff.

My husband who has Alzheimer's came to Elmcroft in September 2025 for respite but sadly he is now a full time resident. He has always been treated with kindness, patience and dignity by all the staff, even on his tricky days! I cannot thank Elmcroft enough for all their hard work and understanding towards
my husband and myself .
I have visited Elmcroft on different times of the day and as always he is washed and dressed and comfortable. Elmcroft itself is well looked after and maintained to a high standard. But what I like about the place is that all the staff are warm and friendly, even the team leaders and managers , there door is always open for any concerns or queries you might have.
I would definitely recommend New Elmcroft to anyone who is looking for residential or just some respite.

Kindness, Care and safety when one is unable to communicate there needs

Safe looked after and respected . The staff are professional. Confident in their ability to provide care stimulation
and time to all resident's. At no time do they rush or over whelm any resident. The home itself is warm and clean. My mother's room is perfect. Meals are varied and healthy. The services provided are superb. Regular housekeeping maintains a clean and hygienic environment. I thank them

We were quite nervous when mum first moved in, but the staff were so welcoming that we quickly relaxed. Everyone is friendly and caring, there is a nice atmosphere, everyone at ease. Mum is very happy, and it's such a relief for all of us (daughters and husband). Thank you so much.

It is a welcoming and warm place to visit. My mother was helped to settle in very well. Nothing is too much trouble.

When our mother required respite care, a place at Warmere Court was provided by WSCC. From our first communication with the staff there, we knew mum was in safe hands. Warm, friendly staff reassured mum and the wider family throughout this period. As mum's health needs grow, her needs are all met with
warm smiles and support from all of the staff, from managers to carers alike.
Reply from Irene Pudduck, Home Manager at Warmere CourtThank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear your mum felt safe and supported, and it's wonderful to know our team could provide reassurance and care every step of the way.
