My mum moved here a few months ago, previously being in a private Care Home for 2 years.
We were really worried that the move would have a negative effect on her Dementia, infact the opposite has happened, Mum is settled very quickly, she is happy & content, enjoys the activities, loves having her
own bathroom, cannot praise her carers enough.
My sister & I are extremly happy with the care given
Reply from Wan Illman, Home Manager at Deerswood Lodge

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful feedback. We are thrilled to hear that your mum has settled in so quickly and is happy and content at Deerswood Lodge. It is fantastic to know that she is enjoying the activities, appreciates having her own bathroom, and feels well cared for by our team. My Mother in law was very much part of the Burleys Wood family for the 3 1/2 years she lived there. The staff were friendly and took the time to say hello or have a chat. The activity ladies would make the effort to see if Mum wanted to join in, even though she didn't always want to! She loved her
outings, especially the trip to see the tulips at Tulleys. The laundry ladies were always cheerful when returning her washing and she loved seeing the hairdresser on a Tuesday to have her hair 'done'.
The wonderful team leaders and their amazing team of carers were caring and loving to Mum, this was particularly apparent in the last few days of her life when she was so lovingly looked after.
Reply from Erika Szalacsi, Home Manager at Burleys Wood

Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt memories of your mother-in-law's time at Burleys Wood. We are touched to hear how much she enjoyed being part of our community and how our team made her feel cared for, from the everyday chats to the activities and outings. It is especially meaningful to know that she received such loving care in her final days. Your kind words will be shared with the team, and we are grateful that she felt at home with us.

Warmere Court

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our 81yo mum was admitted into Waremere Court at short notice in September following the hospitalisation of her husband, our father, who was also her main carer. This is Mum's 2nd experience with residential care, the 1st experience at a different home was not the best for her and, as such, she was
understandably very anxious. Rosie, a member of the Warmere team, conducted a pre-entry call with Mum and I and was outstanding at putting Mum's mind at rest and carefully explaining what was going to happen.

Mum has now been in Warmere for 4 weeks and is likely to be there for the foreseeable as she is unable to look after herself and, unfortunately, Dad can no longer provide the care and support she needs. All the staff have been outstanding and incredibly supportive of Mum and her immediate family. We have had to make some very difficult and emotional decisions in recent times, the Waremere staff have been there at every step of the way to guide us - thoroughly recommended and THANK YOU!

Reply from Irene Pudduck, Home Manager at Warmere Court

Thank you for your heartfelt review. We're so glad your mum has settled in well and that our team, especially Rosie, was able to offer reassurance and support. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we're proud to be able to care for your mum and family during this time.

The care offers to G is tender and loving and the staff are personable and smiling. The activities are well planned and fun. Whilst the rooms are a tad small they are very functional and well aired and kept clean and tidy.

Overall a very good choice.

My mum recently entered Rotherlea for assessments and was soon offered a permanent place. From the start, the staff have been absolutely amazing with her - kind, patient, and genuinely caring. She settled in far quicker than we expected and now tells us how much she loves being there. One of the biggest
changes has been her social life. Instead of sitting in her flat on her own, she's now surrounded by people, joining in conversations, making new friends, and being part of a community. It's such a comfort knowing she's not isolated anymore.

The staff also go above and beyond with practical care. They arranged for her to see the optician and ensured she got the right hearing aids fitted - little things that have made a huge difference to her quality of life. As a family, we couldn't be happier with how she is being looked after. Seeing her so content, comfortable, and supported gives us real peace of mind. I can't thank the team at Rotherlea enough for the difference they've made.

The Entertainments guy Michael was today gently leading one of the residents , I think her name is Joan by her hand around the ground floor EMI unit and gardens talking and being a kind friend , he has lots of patience is always smiling and is great at entertaining and putting on a great show and sing
sling which the advanced Demrntia residents noticeably enjoy , keep up the entertainments more and some Pet therapy and visits would be good . The majority of the staff on the Dementia ground floor are patient and take time with their residents

My mum, Ann, moved in to Deerswood in early summer 2024.
At the time, she was depressed, anxious, and angry about her lot in life. She had just spent 3 months in another care home and the experience wasn't a happy one.
She was hesitant to say the least to move to Deerswood, which was further away
from her home in Hassocks.
Fast forward nearly 18 months and my mum is a changed person. She is about as content and settled as she has been in over a decade. Along with a change in her medication, this positive change in her has been down to the supportive, welcoming and calm environment at Deerswood.
I honestly couldn't be happier with the care and attention that my mum receives from every member of staff at Deerwood. It really is a joyous place, and I am always greeted with a smile and a hello by everybody whenever I visit. My mum has found a community and "her tribe" at Deerswood, and it has transformed her outlook on life.
I would thoroughly recommend Deerswood to anybody.

My Husband & I had a lovely afternoon on Friday with my Dad whilst fitting a TV on the wall for him in his room.
Our baby puppy cockapoo came with us & he visited most of the residents, which really cheered them up & made their day apparantly!
Dad & I sat in the lounge having a good old sing-song,
which Dad really enjoyed.
All the staff were fabulous & really good with Dad.
We left feeling very happy & pleased that Dad seems to be settling in quite well now & having wonderful care!

Review of

Glebe House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We returned home on Wednesday from another great respite break at Glebe House. I have to say once again I have been looked after extremely well by caring and delightful staff.
It was good to see everyone again, I was welcomed and made to feel at home straight away. I was in our usual room with my assistance
dog and he thoroughly enjoys his stay with me there too.
I felt utterly spoilt by all departments who take every care to ensure our stay is pleasant, particularly it always amuses me when I return to my room after housekeeping has tidied up to find all Marines toys carefully placed and looking good.
I have as usual been a little challenging at times with my needs but that is taken on the chin by all the staff who are always there to offer any support I need.
I feel it is important my wife gets the chance to properly unwind and refresh herself and by having such a great care home to ensure I am safe and well looked after she is able to relax and enjoy the time herself.
