Really easy to communicate with everyone with regards to organising respite, which will now become permanent care. The home was clean, bright and welcoming upon arrival both before moving her in and on the day of her arrival. The staff always make time to help and answer questions and have genuinely made the process easy for me as someone who was suddenly thrown into this new world with little knowledge.

Thank you so much for your care and consideration regarding my mother and her stay with you. At 94 it's not always easy and each and every member of the staff were engaging and friendly. So a very big thank you one and all. Greg

My father was intially given 2 weeks respite care at Glebe House, the experience was excellent from the whole team there, they were all very welcoming and put my father and myself at ease straight away, I left him in the knowledge that he would be well cared for in a safe, clean and happy enviorment.

A 35yr old man stayed here. A worrying place in the heat, hot weather as he was not allowed downstairs into the garden, dependent on lift and carers, denied for two weeks.

Although choosing to not eat meat, he was fed meat.

The single bed has a double electric socket at hip level, I asked about moving the plug but not possible to the higher double ;point.
..hint, a 35yr old man, trapped in the above bed, could at least have more to eat than toast for every meal, 3x day.
His communication device 'broke' and was not mended or reported until Oscar was collected to come home.

I would avoid this facility, this is supported by the man involved.

Always very pleasant to visit nan here.
Staff friendly and amenable.

Only mild frustration is the limited parking available - you never know whether you'll be able to park or not!

Review from James R (Brother of Resident) published on 21 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My brother stayed at Glebe House for a couple of years. He wasn't a typical resident (he has learning difficulties and was 60 when he arrived, whereas Glebe House typically caters for the elderly & frail who can't live at home independently). Despite this, he really enjoyed his stay, and received a lovely send-off from the staff when he left in April 2026. Glebe House is a very well run care home, with truly wonderful professional staff who really care for the residents. The home is clean, the rooms are well equiped, and the food is good. I have no hesitation in recommending Glebe House. Thank you to everyone at Glebe House for looking after my brother with so much love and care!

After shortlisting several dimentia free care homes for my mother - we were pleased we chose Glebe House. On chatting to the staff and care teams it gave us confidence that she would be safe and well looked after, physically and mentally. The residents we spoke to were happy and contented. My husband moved my mother in law to Glebe House approximately one year ago. He is her only son and we live in America. Although his mother resisted moving until she fell repeatedly at home she has loved being at Glebe House. We visited 2 times and were amazed at how her health and happiness have improved. The staff is proactive, kind, friendly, helpful and does more than I have seen in most such facilities to ensure residents days pass with with lots of social interaction, fun varied activities, and friendly service and assistance while allowing and ensuring the residents dignity. We understand the food is very good and we love the staff and manager, Tracy. They even enlarged a family photo we sent via email and hung it in her room - a nice touch.

Absolutely amazing communication and help organising a move from Essex. Lovely staff on the day she arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. The care and attention in the first hour was better than the care recieved in hospital for over 3 weeks! Jonny and Jenna were so kind and caring. We are so happy.

Just returned from another respite break at Glebe House and have to say how pleased I was to see familiar faces and feel so welcomed on arrival. Myself and my assistance dog had a perfect room with easy access into the garden for him to have a run around.
As usual I presented some challenges which were always handled in a caring and professional manner and my needs were fully met.
I had an appointment at my own GP and as my wheelchair was playing up a little, I discussed my concerns with a staff member and it was suggested I take an escort to ensure I arrived in good time and would be reassured that if I had any issues I would not be left in difficulty.

I try to keep my wheels clean but with the weather this time it was quite often damp when I went out, I thank the housekeeping staff for keeping everywhere so clean with the additional work I caused them. I think the Sunday roast chicken was exceptional with superb roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Thank you all it was a pleasure.

Overall Experience

My Mother lived in Glebe House for 3.5 years until her recent passing. She had a lovely south-facing ground floor room with a patio door and a beautiful view of part of the informal garden. She moved in after a hospital stay and thrived on the thoughtful and attentive care and nourishing food. She inevitably became more frail, but was always comfortable and content, and enjoyed her meals. All the staff looked after her with both love and professionalism, responding to her needs promptly, respectfully and effectively. Everyone was always on the lookout, though this wasn't made obvious. The staff care for family members as much as for residents, and there is a cheerful family atmosphere. The activities are interesting and varied. Glebe House is a well-planned building, with well-maintained facilities, and good staffing levels. The laundry service is outstanding. Glebe is not outwardly showy, but it provides the important intangibles: safety, reliability and love. Thoroughly recommended.

I started at Glebe House in 2015 as a support worker. I then became a team leader and now I am the administrator.

My mum resided at Glebe House when she needed care, after seeing the fantastic care and support given to her I decided that I wanted to be a part of the Glebe House team.

My role as admin gives me the opportunity to support each of the residents and their families first hand.

I am privileged to meet future residents and their families and ensure that all of their needs are met whilst residing with us.

I love being part of such a supportive and dynamic staff team and spending time with each and every resident.

Stephanie WattsJob Title:Service AdministratorJoined: 2021
I started my career in Health and Social care back when I was a teenager

I have worked with an entire spectrum of people with differing health needs.

Over the last 11 years working in the care sector, I have gained many skills and achievements, my highest qualification is, Level 5 in Health and Social Care.

In my previous role I was a registered manager at a home for those with mental health needs. I then went on to have a baby girl and decided that I wanted to take a new career path still in the care sector so that I could use the skills and knowledge previously gained to give 100% to my new role.

I joined Glebe House as the second administrator. I enjoy the people I work with and every day is a new challenge, this gives me the opportunity to develop my skills to ensure I am always providing a fantastic service to the people we support and their families.
