My 92-year-old friend is at Glebe House for assessment following a few weeks in hospital before returning to her own home. The building itself is very well decorated and when you enter gives a very good feeling. My friend will only be here for 6 weeks but has already settled in and enjoying being looked after and making friends with the staff. She is receiving excellent care and the staff are so friendly and obviously enjoy working at this home. My friend is free to walk about in the home and enjoys the activities. I have been to numerous homes in the past visiting elderly friends and Glebe House definitely tops the list.
Since living at Glebe House I have found everyone to be excellent at their jobs. Sometimes going beyond excellent. I'm very happy here.
Upon the start of my dad's stay at Glebe House, the staff were very welcoming and offered support and encouragement in helping with his transition from an apartment. This was of great value to all of the family, many of who live hours away. The staff really went out of their way to help him make his room feel like home and encouraged him to engage with the other residents.
During my dad's time at Glebe House, he was a challenging resident. The team at Glebe House tactfully handled my dad's needs and always maintained excellent communication with myself and my brother. As my dad's health needs became greater the Glebe House team played a critical role in coordinating visits from healthcare professionals.
I highly recommend.
The staff are friendly, caring and treat my brother with respect and dignity. I know he's safe and well looked after in the home. I'd like to see more interaction and activities taking place (probably curtailed due to Covid.)
My mother has thrived in the short time she has been at this excellent care home. Her health has improved beyond recognition - a fact reflected in her weight gain! Her mental well-being has also thrived. The decision to come to Glebe House was a very good one.
All the staff have time for a worthy conversation with my mother as they carry out their duties. She knows them all by name and their latest news. The food is amazing and always a topic of conversation.
The staff have had to make difficult decisions in this time of a pandemic but these are clearly made in the best interests of the residents and a dialogue is always held with family members.
As a family, we are grateful to all those who support our mum at Glebe House to such a high standard.
If there are any issues they are dealt with professionally and efficiently and have received phone calls and feedback to answer any concerns we have. Dad has a lovely ground floor room with a door out into the garden which is perfect for him. We would definitely recommend Glebe House.
Glebe House has provided excellent respite care for my mother. The staff are friendly, efficient and professional and the care home environment is very welcoming. We couldn’t have asked for better and would have no hesitation in recommending it. Need I say more!
My partner is settling in well at Glebe House. His family and I waited a while until a vacancy was available and it was well worth the wait. Staff are so friendly and approachable, plus asked for our feedback to ensure all his needs are met.
Dad has been a resident in Glebe House for five years, during which time he has always been extremely well looked after by the carers and team leaders. With increasing mobility issues, Dad has been treated with the utmost respect by all the staff and nothing is too much trouble. The ambience within Glebe House is one of relaxation, with light decor contributing to an inviting feeling within the building. As a family we would, without hesitation, recommend Glebe House to potential new residents.
My mum has been a resident at Glebe House for 5 months. Mum loves being at Glebe and is always saying how lovely everyone is. The staff are very attentive and keep us updated on her progress. Whenever I ring nothing is too much trouble.
I am a resident at Glebe House and have been for a number of years. The staff show me respect at all times. Activities are provided to us. The food is always homemade and is more than adequate for my needs. It is well prepared and well served.
From the first day of residence at the home, of which my father-in-law has resided, it's been a joy to watch him thrive in the care of Glebe House. It's lovely staff, management and surroundings, couldn't ask for better.
Friendly staff and a home feel.
My uncle has been here for a week and finds the staff very friendly. Room very good and food is excellent.
Glebe House provides an outstanding home. Mum is always cheerful and contented the staff clearly enjoy caring for residents. I have been visiting for ten months and have witnessed excellent entertainment from staff, visiting singers and others. The common areas and guest rooms are kept clean and tidy. I am frequently offered tea or coffee when visiting. I highly recommend this rest home.
Mum was living with my husband and I successfully until she had two T.I.A's and was then needing more support. Initially, she stayed at Glebe House for respite, then decided she'd like to stay because of the care, support and everyone was so kind. The manager was very understanding, about the situation we were experiencing. All the staff are very cheerful, professional and supportive of mum and family. They keep us informed of any change in mum's condition. It was not my wish for mum to be in a care home, but my experience of visiting mum is very reassuring. Mum is happy and settled. The staff at Glebe House are an amazing team of hard-working, caring, understanding professionals. We are very grateful.
My husband is not an easy patient, but the staff have always been unfailingly kind and supportive, both to him and to me. He could not be better cared for. Visiting friends have remarked on how much better this home is than ones in which their relatives are residents.
Since I have been a resident of this care home, Glebe House, I have had very attentive and thoughtful care. If, for any health reasons, I need further care, I would be happy to come again.
Service is excellent.
Glebe House is a fabulous home. The staff are amazing, caring, helpful and very understanding, not only for the residents but for their families too. I am so happy my father is being cared for at Glebe House, could not wish for anything more for him.

Meet the Team (4)

There is not a role in a care home that Jo has not undertaken – she loves a challenge and has helped out in many Shaw homes across the West Sussex region, learning and improving along the way.
Jo enjoys the interactions she has each day with families, health professionals, and of course the lovely residents. Jo commented “Speaking to the residents and listening to their life stories, just knowing you have made a difference to someone’s day, is what makes working in care so wonderful”

I started at Glebe House in 2015 as a support worker. I then became a team leader and now I am the administrator.
My mum resided at Glebe House when she needed care, after seeing the fantastic care and support given to her I decided that I wanted to be a part of the Glebe House team.
My role as admin gives me the opportunity to support each of the residents and their families first hand.
I am privileged to meet future residents and their families and ensure that all of their needs are met whilst residing with us.
I love being part of such a supportive and dynamic staff team and spending time with each and every resident.

I have worked with an entire spectrum of people with differing health needs.
Over the last 11 years working in the care sector, I have gained many skills and achievements, my highest qualification is, Level 5 in Health and Social Care.
In my previous role I was a registered manager at a home for those with mental health needs. I then went on to have a baby girl and decided that I wanted to take a new career path still in the care sector so that I could use the skills and knowledge previously gained to give 100% to my new role.
I joined Glebe House as the second administrator. I enjoy the people I work with and every day is a new challenge, this gives me the opportunity to develop my skills to ensure I am always providing a fantastic service to the people we support and their families.

Started working in the home almost 9 years ago.
I am currently working as a team leader, which I really enjoy.
Working in this role and supporting the residents and the staff team gives me immense job satisfaction.
I know that I have achieved when I can make at least one resident smile every day.
It’s such a rewarding career and team work is paramount to the safe running of my shift.
