The Review Score of 9.7 (maximum of 10) for Elizabeth House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 33 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Elizabeth House in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 4.738 for Elizabeth House is calculated as follows: ( (310 Excellents x 5) + (99 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 413 Ratings = 4.738
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elizabeth House is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4
Target of 12 positive Reviews (60 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 19 Reviews ÷ 12 Target Reached = 1
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Could not have asked for better care for my mother on her final days. The staff were amazing and caring not only did they take fabulous care of my mother but they also cared for us as a family. A brilliant care home, couldn't wish for more.

My mum has been here for 4+ years, I cannot praise them enough for the care given to mum, even as her dementia has deteriorated over the years. They kept me fully updated on any changes as soon as they happened. I would/will definitely recommend Elizabeth House to anyone. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident for two years now, during that time the high standard of care has not wavered. The home is always clean and tidy and the bright airy corridors give a sanctuary for all residents to have their own space. The staff are very thoughtful to both residents and their relatives, keeping you updated if any additional medical intervention is required. The knowledge that my mother is well cared for in a safe and happy environment is priceless.

I'm not hoping to have to go into a care home but then I'm guessing few of us do, but if and when I do I would definitely put Elizabeth House to the top of my list. I have visited my friend many times and have always been struck by the atmosphere and ethos, the friendliness of all the staff and the ease with which my friend has settled in continues to thrive and it smells nice which is always a good sign!

When visiting it's always clean and tidy, nice and warm and always greeted very politely by all of the staff who appear very patient with the residents who never appear to want for attention.

I am very happy that my mother is cared for at Elizabeth House. She always looks neat and tidy and the staff take the trouble to coordinate her clothes nicely.
Staff are in the main, friendly and very helpful and any concerns are dealt with efficiently. Activities and entertainment are regular and very good with excellent interaction.

My nan has been in the home for 5 years now and she is very settled. Staff are amazing and very welcoming. I bring my two daughters with me to visit their great nan and the staff take the time to say hello to them and make them feel at ease through the visit. All staff are very caring.

The home is run so well, patients are looked after so well, they all seem happy, lots of activities for the residents. Staff are really helpful, the bedrooms are clean and the home is kept nice at all times. They have lots going on to keep the residents active, friends and family can join in as well. Everyone is so friendly which makes it more like home.
We can have lunch with our friend and then sit in the lovely garden with a nice tea or coffee and have a good natter or we can go to her room. She has plenty of privacy which I think is good. Can't fault the home.

My dear wife is a resident of Elizabeth House Care Home, she has been a resident now for 18 months during which time she has needed various types of care, mainly due to the cruel progress dementia takes.
I can honestly say I am extremely pleased with the way carers and all staff have been making sure my wife is extremely comfortable at all times. She is receiving the very best care possible. I can sleep at night knowing she is safe.

Bearing in mind that my father has only been a resident for a few months we the family are very happy with his care. The staff from management down are very approachable listen and act upon any constructive requests. They are in contact immediately should the need require to either advise of request info. I feel that we work well together and enjoy to see how they encourage family interaction. All medical needs are dealt with promptly and with expertise. Daddy's interaction skills are much improved also his independence and mobility.

My husband spent two years at Elizabeth House. The staff and care here are both excellent. Everyone knows family members by first names, which is nice. The rooms and all areas are kept very clean and tidy. We have both been very happy with every aspect here. Unfortunately, his needs became more than Elizabeth House could cope with, so with regret, he has had to be moved to a care home with nursing. We miss you all, patients and staff.
He has settled into his new place well, the move doesn't seem to have upset him.
Thank you all so much for taking such great care of him.

I visited a friend at Elizabeth House this morning, and wow. This is how care for the elderly should be. Spotlessly clean, caring, friendly and easily approachable staff. Nothing is a bother to them. I would be happy to know that this place is available for myself if/when I need the appropriate care.

My mother died recently after spending four years at Elizabeth House. She was 99 years old when she died and suffered from vascular dementia. The staff at Elizabeth House are fantastic and the care mum received was exemplary. She was always well-dressed and smart with regular hair appointments and manicures. The environment was stimulating and the staff attentive and provided good interaction. The residents are treated with respect and affection. I recommend this care home very highly.

Having come here in December 2016, our first experience of care homes, we have been overwhelmed by the quality of care and compassion provided. Our search for a suitable placement for mum means that we have seen many care homes and this one is far superior to any that we have looked at.

My husband has been to Elizabeth House for respite over the last couple of years. Each time he has settled very well as the staff are so friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere on entering is very pleasant and welcoming. Cleanliness of the rooms and all areas are excellent and the design of the floors are particularly good for those with Alzheimer's. I always feel content when he is there for respite. I do not worry as I know he is in the best of hands and I am able to rest. He enjoys every meal and the staff are very kind to him and he enjoys their company.

Elizabeth House is a very homely place, the staff are very caring and helpful to all residents. The team leaders are brilliant! The decor of all rooms and all communal areas is clean, fresh and modern. The care and support is excellent and my mother is very happy and settled in the home. Safety/security is very good and food/drink choices are excellent! (An extra homely touch is the home's resident pets, fish tank, rabbit and lovely cat, who all the residents make a fuss of!)

Elizabeth House is welcoming as soon as you walk through the front door. The team leaders and all staff are really friendly and approachable, they do all seem to 'care' about the residents as well as 'care' for them. The team leaders are always available for a chat if you have any concerns or questions or just an update on your relative. The home itself is bright, airy and clean throughout including the resident's lounge and lounge areas. There are weekly activities organised and always something going on to keep the resident's minds active and stimulated. I am very satisfied with the standard of care my relative is receiving at Elizabeth House.

At 92 years old my mother was unable to remain living independently in her own home. She was becoming increasingly frail with short-term memory loss. Mum was extremely distressed and unhappy at having to leave her own home. The staff at Elizabeth House welcomed her and recognised her need for independence right from the start. Their ongoing support is sensitive and unobtrusive. Without exception, each staff member has treated mum with dignity, kindness and respect. Their support has extended to our wider family during a difficult and anxious time.

Whenever I visit my nan, she is always happy and seems very comfortable. The staff always give us space and I'm usually greeted with a cup of tea for both of us. She has been a resident for over two years now and I'm glad she is there as I'm away a lot of the time, however, I am comfortable and confident in Elizabeth House care and I am never worried.

My father was transferred to Elizabeth House in May 2016 as he needed specialist Dementia care. His health was poor, he had irritation, eating issues and was generally lethargic. He is now mobile, gets involved, watches TV and eats at the table. He even makes meal choices. His skin condition is very much improved he is clearly happy and healthy. The staff are always happy and seem to genuinely care. All the family are delighted with his care. Fantastic.
