Mum came to Trenewydd 28th November having broken her hip. As her daughter I am extremly happy to see mum so happy after the last 7 years of struggling at home. The entire staff are brilliant nothing is to much trouble. The activities are excellent. There's always something going on. The food is vast
and tastes beautiful - I stopped for New Years dinner and it was stunning. The place is always well run and the cleanliness is excellant. Appointments outside of the hospital always kept.
Reply from Richard Shepherd, Home Manager at Trenewydd Care HomeThank you so much for your kind review. We're delighted to hear how happy your mum has been since moving to Trenewydd.

My Grandmother has been living at Wylesfield for nearly a year now. The staff are all so lovely and caring and she is very happy there . The home is very homely and the maintainance lady is doing a fantastic job at redecorating the home with the residents input which I feel is a beautiful touch seeing
as it is there home . The administrator is always so hopeful and friendly and if my Grandmother has any issues the team leaders always keep me updated. Fantastic. Thank you for looking after her so well.

I would say that the majority of staff are excellent and provide great care for my Nan. They are attentive and talk to her in a lovely way. She is very happy there, which is the most important thing. Her main carers are outstanding. The home is always clean and tidy. My Nan has been there 3 years and
I have noticed a change in the last 6 months. More temporary staff coming in- some speak very little or poor English. Pills have been left for her to take by herself and family have noticed when visiting. There appears to be discontent among staff, which means it is not as happy as it use to be. Communication can be unclear, with mixed messages being relayed sometimes. I feel like staff work hard within a not so great system.
Reply from Lisa Waters, Home Manager at Maes-y-Wennol Care HomeThank you for your thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased your Nan is happy and enjoying the care from our team. We also appreciate the concerns you've raised and will address them to ensure the highest standard of care continues.

Mum stayed while I was away and she really enjoyed it. Food is very good and cater to likes/dislikes. Rooms comfortable and activities programme well managed and varied. Staff very friendly and helpful. Mum felt welcomed and they spend time making, sure she is ok. Also an emergency stay was handled
brilliantly taking a load off my mind. Small downside not many ensuite but not possible and plenty of close bathrooms.

He arrived at Maes y Wennol 9 months ago and has settled in well. I cannot praise the staff enough for all that they do. Not only do they work hard but they are positive and encouraging and strive to
keep the residents occupied and stimulated whenever possible. I am very grateful for all that the staff do.
